Why Guests Computer Account Is Not Working
Sep 16, 2011i can't log into my guest user account,everytime i try it alway say,the user profile service fail the log on user profile cannot be loaded and then it log itself out?

Guests Can Shutdown Computer
May 7, 2011I just noticed when I was in a guest account that it is possible to shutdown the computer. Is this something that Microsoft did intentionally or is there a switch that disables this capability?

Nov 5, 2009Because Hyper-V has gained a lot of publicity lately and because I truly love the server virtualization products...i picked up a book on Hyper-V and have been reading through it and testing Hyper-V on a box under my desk.
Very first thing that caused massive grief: Trying to remotely administer Hyper V from a workstation on a Windows domain while the Hyper V server is on a workgroup is a real challenge. It took nearly an entire day to get this working and that was after using the HVRemote shortcut tool on the MSDN blogs. Now that I know how to do this, it only takes a few minutes but it sure is complicated for somebody doing it for the first time.
Next, my company does quite a lot with Linux virtual machines. From what I have seen, the only supported HyperV Linux guest OS's are SuSE and RHEL (only using emulated drivers). Of course, the emulated drivers don't provide the performance of their synthetic counterparts.
In addition, it seems that Linux guests are relegated to no smp support. So, it's 1 CPU only for any linux guest no integration services are supported, such as remote system shutdown and Time Synchronization or Heartbeat So, in closing, it's really hard to take this Hyper-V product seriously in the enterprise market with such limited support for any OS that isn't Windows. Looks like we will be sticking with VMWare ESX and ESXi for the forseeable future.

Jun 13, 2012Ive been working on the administrator account for more than 2 years, left it as it was yesterday. When I came back my account was assigned with guest authorization instead of administrator's. While I was working on my administrator account I disabled Super Administrator account and therefore now I am unable to log into it. My little brother account is just another guest account. So as far as I know there are two guests accounts somehow, 0 administrator accounts, and 1 super administrator account which is disabled. How can I restore my account to its previous settings?

Nov 4, 2011I'm a software developer at a small shop and we're exploring the idea of having a bare bones Linux box or something else with lots or RAM and CPU to run VMWare and Windows 7 VM to host our development environment. We are often installing new components for our development tools and other trial software and the like to research new technologies. Ultimately our machine is so bogged down after 6 months or so that a reformat is necessary. This takes about a day to get everything back into a state to resume development.
We'd like to have master VMs that we keep up to date with the latest Windows updates, antivirus definitions, and versions of the common tools that we all use like Notepad++, Sysinternals Suite, and others. Every so often each of us will grab the master VM to our host machine to have the same copy of our most up to date development environment. Is there some way to copy down the user profile data so that we can restore it on the new VM when it is deployed? Items of personal preference like desktop shortcuts, Windows themes, pinned items on the taskbar, and other organizational items would be a pain to lose.

Oct 31, 2011I am using Windows 7 Pro 64x and apparently the default user account (Owner) that I use is not working correctly. Unless I have UAC set to Never Notify, I cannot open Control Panel or UAC again. I have created a second user account as Administrator and it works correctly.
