I'm looking at getting a new graphics card. I have set a budget of about $250 US. And I like nVidia. So that puts me in the GTX660 class of cards, pretty much. Now for that budget I see there are cards that have more VRAM - 3GB vs 2GB,or they have a slightly faster GPU speed and a faster shader clock. All the other specs remain the same for all cards in this class. But to get both it looks like I need to bump up to the Ti version and a $280+ budget. What do you think is the best bang for the buck? How important is any of this - or is it just splitting hairs? My primary application is CAD work using AutoCAD.
I currently have the Geforce 8600 GT 256mb <<(i think that's the VRAM not sure tho)
i can't run crysis on medium without lag....
my friend has a GeForce 8600 GT 1GB and can run crysis on High without any lag, and yes i have been to his house and personally played on his computer it is true! Don't tell me I'm lying i checked everything.
So, i can easily buy the GeForce 8600 GT 1GB but is it worth it? will it really make it so i can play crysis at-least on MEDIUM without lag on a low resolution like 1280x800 or even less. It's only $50 so even if i see a slight difference i would still buy it.
but Dxdiag and can i run it both believe i have 1.7 GB vram. so unless my ready boost is expanding that (which i don't think it could) i may have a problem. there is not much else i can add.
i have been looking through my system info i noticed that my Standard VGA adapter (the pre installed one that comes wit Win 7) has no VRAM, plz help i cant play any games i need 64mb of VRAM. I tried getting Nvidia display adapters but I cant install my working graphic driver, just the ones my comp cant support.
I have a shared graphics memory. My ram is 4 gb but my vram is only 64Mb. This causes issues with games, etc. I went through my BIOS a 1000 times without finding anything (Toshiba Sattelite E205 laptop)
i have an intel HD graphics 1307mb size and 2.9 gb ram (out of 4gb)one question, if i increased the ram will the VRAM increase? cuz i have it only 128mb
core i 5 2450 (2.5 ghz) 4096 mb ram ddr3 1333 and intel hd 3000
i have 1632 mb shared memory and 64 mb dedicated memory what i want to know is how can i change my dedicated memory size can i increase it? in the benchmark shows intel hd 3000 in low resolousion can run pes 2013 with 35 fps but when i install the game (pes 2013) it gives an error and say you need minimum 128 mb of vram. i only have 64 mb vram so i awnt to know how can i increase i more to 128 mb?
I just want to be able to increase the speed of my fans beyond their spec, and have complete manual control over their RPMs without a care about the temps. I have a liquid cooling setup and the fans on my radiator as they are right now simply aren't cutting it. I have them hooked up to the motherboard in hopes of finding something to just boost their speed via software, but SpeedFan is the only thing I could find and it simply sucks for that purpose.
I just bought a usb 3.0 pci-express card and a western digital 2TB usb 3.0 my book external hard drive. i hooked up the pci-card and the drive, but i'm not getting any speed boost. After reading through many posts, I downloaded HD Tune to check speeds. I have my 3.0 WD hard drive and my 2.0 seagate drive both plugged into the 3.0 pci-express card.
WD 3.0 drive average transfer rate = 36MB/s seagate 2.0 drive average transfer rate = 36MB/s my internal hard drive average transfer rate = 69MB/s
The pci-e card is showing up as usb 3.0 is device manager..why I'm not getting any speed boost with my new card and hard drive?
When ever I'm transferring something or if hdd is being use by another program. I can't do any else.. It drops the Speed bad. I have a Fresh copy of windows 7 Ultimate. My Hdd is a seagate 1tb 7200rpm
When I connect my external hdd, it tells me that this device could work faster if I connect it to a Hi-Speed USB port. When I try to copy any files, transfer starts at about 70mb/s and stops after a few seconds, time left is calculating and when it starts again the speed is about 1.5mb/s. Sometimes pc doesn't find the hdd at all. I've installed the latest chipset drivers but nothing new happened.
I use IBT (Intel Burn Test) to test my stability and when I disable HT I get a speed reading of 55 GFlops and each test takes 139 seconds on very high stress level, so I tought to myself hey why don't I activate HT again because I have it so why not use it, started IBT and it shows me a speed of 46 GFlops and it takes 161 seconds for each test how is this possible, Should not HT increase the calculation speed of the computer?
So I want to use MSConfig on the Selective Startup with Load System Services checked but when I do that it disables an internet connection. I was wondering what to load under either Services or Startup tabs to enable internet in Selective Startup Mode
I am using Windows 7 Ultimate. Recently I face a problem with its speed. I need to setup windows 7 every 10-15 days later. The reason is, the speed of my computer is become slow day by day. My computer is antivirus protected so I guess it is not a problem of virus.
Currently I have a 1.6GHz Intel Atom processor, and 1GB of ram. Crucial say the max my netbook can have is 2GB, will this speed up my PC lots, or would I need a different processor.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate(overkill), which runs surprisingly fast with aero and all effects on, but it would be nice to play a few games that currently lag.
I currently have speed fan but what ever i do i cant adjust the speed of my fans with it. I have read various guides online with no joy so i think its time to try something else if there is anything.
Got a small question about CCC (catalyst control center). I read some posts around the interwebz. When you have fan speed set on auto the speed dos not go over 35 or 40% speed?
When i had it on auto i never hear the fan kick, never did i see the speed going up in CCC.
I have noticed that some times my internet connection can get a download speed of 5mb/s for some time (from minutes to some hours) and then drop at 500kb/s-both wireless and lan.The speed might rise/fall at random points but it is also somehow related to me disconnecting and then reconnecting to the internet. Most of the time I will have the low speed unfortunately.
