I've just bougth a new HP z 600 workstation for my audio recordings, but i'm hving big issues with my software. Windows media player is not working properly. It is enable to start videos - it crack and i get this message saying WMP stoped working. If i play audio i can listen for some seconds and after a while it cracks too and i get the same message. Because WMP 12 comes with windows 7 i can't install it. so i don't know what to do. I'm having basicaly the same problem with other audio and video programs (quick time, i tunes, etc... ) I don't know what's wrong. Could it be something to do whit the fact that i have a 64 bit system?
Been regularly getting BSOD with STOP message of ntfs for a few weeks now. I have attached the zip file and also a screenshot. I am running Windows 7 Home Premium x64 retail upgrade. Installed about a year ago. The original operating system was Vista ultimate. I have upgraded the motherboard driver today and haven't had the BSOD since (touch wood) but not 100% that it was that.
I have a problem running a task with Task Scheduler. The task doesn't run. I have to debug it. When I try to make it run from the app a message appears on a command line message, but it appears and disappears so quickly that I can't read it. To fix the problem I need to read it to know what is going on.Can someone please tell me how to stop that command line window message from closing, please?
I just reinstalled my windows 7 (64-bit, home) because needed to kill some viruses. After reinstallation, most software will crash when double click, including media player etc. But If I run these software as administrator, it is OK.And double click IE 9 64-bit is good, no need to run as administrator, but IE 9 32-bit and Chrome will crash if they are not run as administrator. After the software crash, sometimes it will show some error message such as "the instruction at 0xxxxxxxxx referenced memory 0xxxxxxxxxxx. The memory could not be written."It is weird that I can not double click a mp3 to automatically open the media player to play the song, and constantly need to right click the player to run as administrator and drag the mp3 into player, too much trouble.I have done all updates of windows 7. It is still the same.
Im having a slight issue with one of my machines I cant track down the cause. My USB mouse and keyboard will randomly stop working. After a reboot they work fine for a few minutes then they will stop functioning. We have tried drivers and chipset drivers.
I have hp laptop with i7 processor.I am facing a problem as some times my sound services stop working during in video call bt video works perfectly.I have 3 video calling services
I've tried all the user related fixes, the home group ones, and I do not have outlook express installed. But still it pops up every few minutes, minimizing anything I have going on, and wont let me touch it till I hit cancel.
I'm not sure if this problem is for the hardware or OS forum, as I'm not sure where the problem stems from.Recently I've been having trouble with certain keys on my keyboard, as well as my fingerprint reader. Some of my keys don't work very well at all, and some work only sporadically. The keys I'm talking about aren't any of the input keys for typing or anything, but rather the keys to adjust volume, brightness, screen width, etc. I'm not sure why the keys stopped working, but if someone could help with that would be awesome.I am also having trouble with my fingerprint scanner stopping working. It works when I restart or boot my computer, but after I've logged in a few times it stops working.
I have tried everything and I'm not able to fix system restore. I don't know when system restore stop working. I'm not able to find it in services, is there any other way to fix it other than using the windows 7 that came with the computer.
I'm using Windows 7 since beta and now I'm with Windows 7 Ultimate x64.
During BETA I was using just one monitor (Samsung 732NPlus).
Since the final release of Windows 7 I've bought a second monitor (LG W2252TQ).
I'm using them together (Samsung with RGB connector, LG with DVI).
Since the final release I'm having the same problem from time to time: "The graphics card driver stopped and resumed".
During this, my screen freezes black for 1 to 3 secs.
I have already tried the latest BETA from NVIDIA and also the STABLE one.
It's the same with drivers from Windows Update.
I've disabled the option to get drivers from WinUpdate.
Removed all drivers and installed NVIDIA.
Just the same...
Strange is WHEN this happens:
- NOT during gameplay
- NOT every every time
This happens while using Visual Studio (usually coding), Word, Notepad (o.o'') and sometimes while surfing web. Any clues? For now I just can't format my HD again but I'll try this within a month it this error persists.
I recently installed SP1 on my Windows 7 x64 system and I am now having trouble with some USB devices, specifically an external USB drive. The drive is a 500 GB Seagate connected via USB. My system is an i7 920 on an ASUS motherboard w/ 24 GB RAM.I have a backup program that runs every night and backs up to the USB hard drive. I've been using this setup for a couple years on Vista then Win 7 and it was working fine.
After installing SP1, though, some of my other USB devices quit working every time the backup starts. For example, when the backup kicks in, my keyboard might stop working. Or my mouse. Or some other USB device. So I have to unplug the affected device then plug it in again - after that it works fine again. Well, until the next time the backup runs...It doesn't happen every time the backup runs (maybe 80% of the time) and it's not always the same device(s) that quit working. As I said, sometimes it's the keyboard, sometimes the mouse, sometimes both, etc. The same problem also occurs sometimes when I plug in my iPod.
As I mentioned, I never had this problem until I installed SP1 so it has something to do with that update.
I have dell optiplex 390 computer. I used it for 6 month without having problem. But now i have problem on keyboard and mouse. Every time turn on the computer it work correctly for 2 or 3 minutes. After that it stop responding. First I thought it have problem with OS. Then I installed windows. But now also it happen as before. When it happen I change the port that mouse and keyboard are connected. Then it again work for 2 or 3 minutes and stop working. I check whether the port I used before can used for other devices so I insert USB flash drive.
Im a pc tech at a medium sized business and we recently started having problems with USB Scanners; 2 in particular. It seems that when plugged in they work for a few minutes however when i walk away they stop working. Here are some detailsSame model of scanner Different computers of different models Scanner is a Datalogic Quickscan M2130 Both are running Windows 7 but 1 is enterprise & other isprofessional. Both are 64 bit i have done what i can think of to troubleshoot this.Turned off power management for usb hubs in device manager. Went to advanced power options and disabled usb slective suspend. switched devices with the computers. switched usb port multiple times. Power cycle computer Update drivers Uninstall device & Reinstall Thats all i can think of right now that i have done.
i have a problem with my USB under windows 7 64 bit. Whenever i seem to do any intense activity that is using USB the USB ports stop working. When i say intense activity, i mean copying over a large file to a jump drive or external drive, burning a DVD on external DVD drive, etc. My game controllers, mouse, and Mic headset all work fine and don't cause the USB to malfunction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks. i have reinstalled my motherboard drivers and aside from that i have no clue what else to do. I did not have this problem under XP.
So I've googled the tar out of this and tried everything obvious, not sure what I'm missing. Here's what I got.Dell XPS desktop (wired and wireless connections)boot the machine and all is fine. After sometime browsers stop working. Firefox, IE, Chrome.I can ping google by URL and IP no problemIt's the same with either connection.I can ping my router and other network devices but can't get in via browser.I've turned off windows firewall, ran uninstall tools for dells preinstalled security.I've reset the tcp/ip stack, flushed DNS, reinstalled drivers, shut off power options on the cards. 've tried static IPsI've remove/reinstalled browsers.I've seen others with this problem but no solution, I'm close to giving up and doing a reinstall but don't want this to happen again.
I have been having a rather annoying issue for a while now. This mostly happens on start up and once desktop loads up either my USB mouse freezes or my keyboard doesn't work or sometimes BOTH. My keyboard is a PS/2 Keyboard. It seems the only solution when both freeze at the same time is to either restart the computer or unplug them and plug them back in. This morning when I booted it up my mouse immediately was frozen and I unplugged it and plugged it back in and now it is working. This error is very random and sometimes doesn't happen immediately on start up but while browsing the Internet a decent amount of time after start up. Another important thing I forgot to mention is I get NO blue screen or no error message it just stops working.
When I sit at the computer so I got black screen and my three red LEDs on my Powercolor 4890 glow got strange sound from the data with .. Now to my question huh the motherboard or video card that stop working. Has never happened before.
As of lately my mouse and keyboard sometimes just stop working. It seems to happen more often while I'm playing games (but that's mostly what I do so not sure if that has anything to do with it ). Usually before it happens I'll hear the usb sound and the mouse will disconnect and reconnect and it'll work fine then just out of the blue it'll disconnect and that's that. I have to shutdown and restart. It only just started doing this a couple weeks ago. My mouse is a logitech UAE-96 (I think) and the keyboard is a microsoft ergonomic 4000, its an ASUS MoBo, I've checked keyboard drivers and they are up to date and I've also checked my usb drivers, also up to date.
When I lock the desktop, the keyboard and trackpad stop working on my Windows 7 laptop. Therefore, I cannot unlock the system or change my password. Eventually, the screensaver start, and then if I move the mouse or hit a key, the screensaver stops, and the logon screen appear, but the keyboard and track pad are still not working. My only option is to press the power button. The same thing happens if I connect external keyboard and mouse.
Recently my wife's HP G62 laptop running Home Pro 7 has started having am intermittent keyboard. At first I thought it was the wireless USB keyboard/mouse she had plugged into the machine, but the same happens with just the built in keyboard (the mouse seems to function fine). The problem is that randomly the keyboard will stop working in applications and won't work again until a reboot. The keyboard seems to work fine in safe mode and actually works fine for typing in things like the run box in the start menu, but it will cause firefox and microsoft office to hang. I cannot seem to find what is triggering this condition (coming out of sleep mode, etc.), but it sometimes can be fast, other times it can take a day until it happens again.
some of my programs like completly stoped working like go to play them and they worked before i my computer wouldnt come outta sleep mode and now the programs that were just apear with a program stop working/responding and just recently another program has started to say program has stopped working/responding and all i did was open it and just wondering if anyone got any ideas but mostly i am just gonna format if i cant fix it
i just bought a new mouse and i wanted to install it. i couldnt remember which usb cable was my mouse and which was my keyboard so i unplugged one, wiggled the mouse, unplugged the other, the mousewasnt moving so i plugged it into that one. After that i noticed the new mouse worked but the keyboard stopped working. I restarted the computer and the problem im having now is that the keyboard works in BIOS etc but once windows 7 loads to the login, it stops working as does the mouse
Toshiba Satellite A665. My USB ports work fine from startup, and can even work after waking from sleep mode. However, I notice that if I move my laptop to another location, my USB gets disabled. Occasionally, my mouse and other devices may receive power, but other times they may not even receive power. Either way, they are never detected anymore. I have already tried unplugging and replugging the devices to no avail, and I have also reinstalled all of the drivers.
