sony laptop vgn-cr 36g/b came with windows vista...it was slow..i installed windows 7 on it...32 bit...i got most of the drivers...but inbuilt camera is not being detected...and the driver software says that its for windows vista only..i have searched internet for many hours....but all in vain..

While the system was XP, the webcam worked. I could open My Computer, and if the camera was turned on, it showed in the inventory of devices. Now, with the new and better Windows 7 ULTIMATE, , as the camera says it is connected, but it isn't in the "Computer" inventory, and that is where you really turn the thing on. I have downloaded drivers out the ying-yang and get the same result each time.

On my new Fujitsu laptop, I replaced Windows 7 Home Basic 64-bit with Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit.However, I cannot see any option to use the webcam. Infact the camera is not listed (or its icon not visible) anywhere in the system.
