I'm about to buy a new video card, motherboard, and power supply. I know this video card itself is good for what I want, but I'm unsure of the motherboard or power supply. I was planning on upgrading my computer. Namely, replacing the motherboard so that I could upgrade my processor, and getting a new video card. Under XP it was fine, I just had to install new drivers. But will 7 complain about licenses and such?
Would I need to 'easy in' to the change (new motherboard, check drivers, restart, new cpu, etc), or can I change everything but the hard drive? And if I was to change the hard drive could I just dd over the hard drive image?
The place I worked had an enterprise license for XP, so I never ran into any problems, and so I'm not sure how this will work.
Does anyone have a suggestion to what video card i can upgrade to with an old dell dimension 3000? i just installed windows 7 home premium 32 bit and I'm having a major resolution issues. the computer is old, so I'm looking to spend 30-40 clams.
My brother needs a video card but me being the smart one here. I got his info from dxdiag and I need a recommendation for two things , a video card and power supply. His current power supply runs at a max of 250w and it seems low, mine being 500w so its the right thing to upgrade in order to get a video card. keep video card recommendations "single slot" only since I have no idea how to hook up a video card to a power supply. Single slot ones are simple.

I'm on a budget hence the 450$ computer, so the PSU I'm trying to avoid buying, but I will if i have to. Because if I'm going to be spending the money to upgrade my performance, I want to do it right.
I have built them formatted them, fixed them added components many many times...This is my issue, Internet explore won't open....well it opens and I get a ap crash notification. I take out both of my different videos cards and use internal video and it does not crash. The problem is this is my living room movie file player and the video cards make a huge difference....I also need explorer as well....now Chrome works but that is not what I want..

I have the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family Graphics card. I want to upgrade it since I'll most likely starting my gaming business off of it. And since I am not rich, does anyone know a good graphics/video card I can buy, reasonable in price and good on my computer?

PI have to use onboard sound card to have audio through HDMI output from video card. The external sound card installed is Xonar DG and it comes with SPDIF output header to be interfaced with video card. But I do not see no such header on the video card. I wonder what video card has such an interface header.
I have recently purchased Samsung RF511 notebook and I have been trying to run HD video files(mkv) and they do run but it is very laggy and stuttering occurs very often. So I looked a bit into this matter and what I have found is that the VLC player that I am using to play the video files runs of the onboard graphics card and not the nvidia 540M card that is also installed in this notebook.
I've looked around some, but most other people's problems seemed to be that they could at least see a grayed out version of the card or locate it in the Device Manager, but absolutely nothing shows up for me. It worked fine a couple of days ago (when I was still on Vista), but after upgrading to 7, it no longer detects the SD card at all. Other topics had lots of random driver downloads, but the ones I tried did not seem to work.
With RC coming out tomorrow I thought it would be a good idea to inform everyone of the types of feedback Microsoft is looking for this time around.
• Issues that prevent installation or upgrade • Any issues that involve corruption or data loss • Security issues • Regressions from Windows Vista SP1 or Windows 7 Beta (things worked before, but do not work now) • Any application or device issues that would prevent you from using Windows 7 as your primary OS. • Reproducible crashes or hangs (issues that you cannot reproduce will be captured by CEIP Telemetry)
Even though Microsoft have removed the feedback links, its still possible to send them feedback by running the command: rundll32.exe FeedbackTool.dll,ShowWizard.
I'm using a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum sound card and an ASUS A8N-SLI Premium 939 NVIDIA nForce4 motherboard. This setup worked fine on WinXP with my Logitech headset plugged into the Mic slot on my sound card. Never had a problem and never had to mess with any settings.
Now, since doing a clean install of Windows 7, my Mic is picking up major feedback. If I happen to set the headset down or brush a finger along the actual microphone receiver, my speakers crackle and break-up.
When I was trying to fool around with the recording properties under Sound, the "What You Hear" device is the one picking up my mic. There's also a volume bar to the right of the sound devices where it shows sound coming out of the respective device. Whenever I have sound coming out of my speakers, I also have it showing up on the "What You Hear" device as well. I normally use my headset in Ventrilo, and now whenever I talk, my mic also plays back anything that comes over my speakers as well.
Is this a driver problem or has anyone else had any similar problems? I've tried messing with multiple settings with my speaker settings as well as the "What You Hear" device with no luck. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a driver for the force feedback 2 joystick that works on windows 7? If not, what is a good controler for Flight Simulator 2000 and the combat flight simulators?
Acer laptop that suddenly developed the problem of screeching on startup. It defintely is feedback from the webcam mic. No malware detected; no recent app changes. Ever seen this one before?
I have a Microsoft LifeCam 5000 which I use for Skype calls. The microphone has recently become stuck ON so that all room noises are picked up and played through the speakers, even when Skype is not running (it's not set to open at Startup and I always quit when I've finished using it). Lifecam was in Startup so I disabled that but still have the problem; I checked it hadn't re-inserted itself in Startup - it hasn't.The change may have occurred after I opened the LifeCam's own application to check lighting for the video image. I'm sure there's a simple solution (i.e. so the camera mic is turned off when the device is not in use) that does not involve uninstalling/re-installing - I want to be able to fix this if/when it happens again.
i had microsort force feedback 2 joystick and i dose not work with some games , my operating system is widows 7 .is there is any solution to this problem
I have a HP Pavilian dv6 3010 Entertainment Notebook, running Windows 7 Home Premium, 200 gig Free Hard disk space, 8 gig RAM.When I am doing Video Chatting on Yahoo Messenger, my sound system has this very loud and annoying feedback of the sound when I try to talk through my Headphone/Microphones. I have tried a number ofadjustments to tone down the volumn....but the feedback continues to cause a problem.HP uses a IDT HD sound system on this laptop (AMD HDMI OutputI can not seem to get rid of that very loud and annoying FEEDBACK when I speak into the microphone
I have started using an ASUS slate and find the Windows on-screen keyboard almost impossible to use because of the way the keys flash after you touch them (or even hover over them) - the fade delay is way too long resulting in a mass of flashing keys when typing with any sort of speed. I would have expected this to be a setting under the keyboard options or general personalization but no amount of digging or Google searching has turned anything up for me. Does anyone know how I can turn this off or at least reduce the fade delay time?
So far i have a GT 520 TI and i am looking at this video card (Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GV-N650OC-1GI GeForce GTX 650 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card) i saw some gameplay's of it and so far it look's and play's very good, but it say's it need's PCI Express 3.0 x16 and my motherboard that's a Gigabyte GA-M68MT-S2P, It say's PCI Express x16, I really don't know what version of PCI Express my motherboard is, my question is, Will my motherboard work with the GTX 650 and does PCI Express 3.0 mean that i need to update my motherboard?
Recently ran a bunch of malware / antivirus programs to get rid of a zeroaccess trojan. (malwarebytes, mcafee, cccleanter, eset, hitman). Was finally able to get rid of the viruses in the services.exe and desktop.ini files. However once they were cleaned and got everything back to normal, I'm having problems with my video card being recognized by anything. Only recognizing the Intel® and not my Nvidia gtx 560M. It's not listed on the dxdiag page, not showing up as a selectable option for The Elder Scrolls Skyrim. Was working fine a few hours ago. It's listed under device manager just not showing up anywhere else. Just wondering if getting rid of those viruses might have deleted some needed .dll or something
I have a gateway sx2840-01. I need a little more graphics power. It is a slimline low profile set up. I have found a number of cards that would take care of my graphics needs but all seem to require a much larger power supply. Really having a tough time getting advice on upgrading the power. How important is it to have more power?I have 200w; most upgrade video cards require 350w- 600w. Can I get away with what I have? If not, what are the options?
-HP Pavilion p6750z Desktop PC-AMD Athlon(TM) II 250 dual-core processor-6 GB RAM-512MB DDR3 AMD Radeon HD 6450 (PCIE)-Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bitSo, two weeks ago I bought a desktop PC from HP. I wiped the drive to get all their vapor ware off, installed my software and everything went fine. Windows Update recognized the hardware on my machine and downloaded and installed the appropriate drivers after the wipe. Here's the problem. My girlfriend followed suit two weeks later and asked me to do the same thing for her. Our machines were slightly different but for the most part I expected a similar experience. Except it wasn't. This time Windows Update failed to recognize the Video Card after the wipe.So now she has this nice video card sitting in her machine using a Standard VGA Adapter instead of the Radeon drivers it needs. No matter how many times I download and install the Catalyst software from ATI's site it doesn't catch. What am I doing wrong?
I just installed a 2nd video card & windows isnt seeing it or the other two monitors that are plugged into it?I went to Screen Resolution>Detect & it isnt see it?And I started the computer up from shutdown with the graphics card fully installed with both monitors plugged into it.
