I'm trying to connect a TV to my laptop and want to use my TV as the second monitor.I'm using a brand new VGA cable and the laptop is picking up the TV fine, I can change resolutions, extend etc but the TV just says 'No Signal Through PC'. I'm not ruling out that I've been unlucky enough to buy a dodgy VGA cable but I don't have another to test it with here.
View 9 RepliesI just bought a Netgear WNA3100 wireless usb adapter for my HP Win 7 64 bit laptop. I have been trying for 2 and half days to figure out why my speed is slow, why i don't have a good signal, and/ or if I do have a bit of a signal to my luck, why my signal comes and goes. I don't have internet at home at the moment because I am trying to save up to go to school. I am picking up a public business signal from a block away (which I have asked for permission to use), but I only am receiving not much of a signal with the Netgear usb wireless adapter.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Sennheiser PC161 headset died on me, so I bought one second hand off craigslist. Got home that night and plugged it in, and the mic is not working.
My friend in Mumble says that whenever I try to transmit, he can hear what I'm hearing (i.e if i'm watching a video, then he will hear that video being transmitted). When I run the audio wizard in Mumble, it does not pick up my voice.
More oddities to note:
-W7 wants to turn the mic boost all the way up on the mic. When i turn it down W7 automatically turns it back up
-When I run Skype audio wizard, I hear static and the green bar constantly bounces around, even when I'm quiet.
-W7 microphone wizard does not pick up my voice.
-I am able to switch back to my old mic and use it seemlessly.
For the past four hours, i've been struggling with a problem, my microphone wasn't being heard by my friends who I was attempting to talk to on skype. I looked, and my microphone was hearing my voice, but my Stereo mix Was Not. I have no idea how to fix this problem, my mic is fine, i've tried multiple mics, i've also tried multiple chat things, such as ooVoo and what not. I have asked my step-father and he has no clue.

I have a 320gig sata hard drive and want to connect a IDE drive. If I connect the IDE drive to slave it picks up nothing all it picks up is my Sata Drive.
i recently finished my new desktop and my MSI motherboard 970A-G46 came with Realtek ALC892 onboard audio and for some reason i my mic will not pick up anything. i am using the tritton AX pro headset. i also have an ol set of trittons that will not work either. the front mic plug has massive static and will pick up slightly. the rear will not pick up anything at all. i have tried everything i can think of
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to record an audio track for a song using Audacity, and I'm playing the song through my headphones while trying to record my track, but I end up recording both from my mic and what's playing through the headphones. I've tried using Sound Recorder and get the same results, so it's not Audacity's problem. it seems like my audio out is also getting fed into my audio in. Ironically I've been able to find millions of tutorials about how to make your computer do this, but I cannot seem to find a way to make it NOT record from my speakers and my mic. The various settings under audio devices are bafflingly cryptic to say the least, and no where can I find an option that would hint to why my audio out is being fed to my inputs.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with a new Win XP install on a Dell 3000 (Dimension), having blown the bus on trying to install a second drive (It only allows for one hd drive), and replacing the motherboard,, it powers up, bios reads ok, I am pretty sure it is taking the OS, and now it does not read the drive, something about no drive IDE 0, IDE 1. I am using the factory install discs. Seems fine, just won't find the drive. Could it be that I am using a Western Digital 80 gig, replacing the Seagate 80 gig it came with.
my physical disability limits me to cruising forums at min imums on a Mac powerbook... ie, I am not real computer literate, and I am not to good at researching on a computer. And I am not good at doing searches anyway. It would make a good map computer for my simulator (FSX), and I am about to tear down a Sony Vaio (1.83 ghz) as soon as I can get the right parts machine for the screen. Came as a gift when one of my nephews stepped on the screen, XP pro, still works....

I have tested the USB port and it definitely works. I have tried searching for new devices. I have tried the hard drive on friend's PC also with Windows 7 and it worked. Is there some setting or something I can change on my PC to get it to pick up the hard drive?

I even pulled the card out put it back in and plugged all the wires back up to it. the computer picks up the card, the card just doesn't pick up any signal. the router is brand new i set it up i even reset it and it still wouldn't pick up a signal.s?

View 7 Replies View Relatedi recently bought a samsung n102s netbook. It came with windows 7 starter on it, on which wired and wireless connections worked fine. Then I installed windows 7 professional, on which I could get a wired connection, but only a very slow wireless one. Now, I've replaced professional with Windows 7 Ultimate, and my wireless connection works fine, but I can't get a wired connection. When I plug an ethernet cable in, the icon in the system tray doesn't change to the square "wired connection" one, it just stays with the wireless one. The "wired connection" icon appears briefly during startup, only to be replaced again by the wireless one.I've tried to update the drivers for the ethernet controller, which is type Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller, but to no avail; the wired connection is not picked up.

Instead of saying "No data available" Many of the digital channels I am supposed to get don't show up at all. Also, my provider is not listed even thought the web site clearly shows they do provide digital channels. I attached the monitor via dvi cable and I'm using the integrated graphic card (Intel HD2500) My problem: yesterday the power went out (without problems for me, because I've got an UPS) but after this, when I turn on the pc, after booting (after windows 7 logo ) I got the message ''enter power save mode" on my screen and then it entered in sleepmode because there isn't signal
If I attach the vga (analogic) cable, there is signal and the pc works fine ...there is signal also with dvi cable in safe mode (F8)
I tried to boot another pc (with windows XP) to my screen with the DVI cable and it worked perfectly ...so I do not think it's a problem of DVI cable or a problem of the monitor
But If I attach a dedicated video card (I have a Radeon HD 5450) and if I leave the DVI cable attached to dvi output of the integrated video card (Intel HD2500) now there is signal after booting, but there is no signal during booting (till windows logo) ...the opposite!!
ps I installed the latest drivers of Intel HD2500 (version 8.15.10.2696)
pps if I use DVI cable with the dedicated video card (HD 5450) there aren't problems, so I think I'll use this card (or another dedicated vga) ...but I want to understand what's the problem with integrated video card
Alright so it worked when I left to go pay a bill. Come back and it has no signal. I tried the PC on my TV to see if it worked and it does no problem, so I know the PC is not at fault. Tried a DVI cable and a VGA. Tried restarting and powering off everything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I connect my PC to my TV Via HDMI Cable, my TV does not receive a signal. When I check in Control panel>Display>Resolution, My TV hasn't even been detected. My TV is an LG 50", Card is a GTX580, and my OS is Windows 7.
Also, when I connect my laptop to my TV via HDMI (Also on Windows 7), It is instantly recognised and automatically displays, so it has to be an issue with the PC itself.
My All in one PC Asus ET2400XVT has a HDMI-input port but whenever i try to connect it through a HDMI-HDMI cable to my ps3, it does not sense the signal. What can i do?
View 3 Replies View Relatedi read the manual and followed the instructions as best as i could but when i was done and hit the power button, everything turned on except i I'm not getting any signal on my tv. Im using an HDMI cable i'm guessing thats the problem but I'm afraid to go back and try to fix anything. I also noticed a red LED go off as soon as i hit the power button but it never lights up again. (Only once) I think its my motherboard. Also, i tried turning it on about times and the last time i turned it on, my fans connected to the motherboard were no longer turning on. Im afraid i might've burned my motherboard. The other times I started to run it, it doesn't display any BIOS or anything, and it doesnt seem like anything is runnin except the fans and lights.I got it into safe mode initially at one point, but again, the signal to the monitor cut out and I have no idea what happened after that.Each time I power-button-ed it off.Things were running fine until recently; I did install AirDisplay (forgot there was no wifi - I'm used to my laptop which does).I think it is expected, but I tried to put in the recovery CD to boot from CD, but, of course, nothing displayed.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded my AMD catalyst software to 12.4 on my HTPC. Been noticing that when I am viewing via my Sharp 19"LED TV I get signal cut out after about 20 minutes. I notice this when my screen save comes on in WMC. It eventually craps out and I get "no signal" messages on my screen. It comes back if I simply click on the mouse.This never used to happen before. I could leave the HTPC on over night and simply turn the TV monitor off. When I would turn the monitor on in the morning, the Desktop would be visible.Are there new settings in 12.4 that could be causing signal cut out (i.e. like an energy saver option)?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am experiencing a very disturbing issue with my newly installed ATI 4870 and my Windows 7 RC (7100). Prior to installing this card I had the following setup, which worked flawlessly.
nvidia 8800gt
intel p35 chipset in the motherboard
Samsung a656 40" LCD connected via a DVI to vga connector.
When I got my 4870, I uninstalled the nvidia drivers,rebooted, installed the latest (9.5) ati drivers and rebooted.
Then, I got a no signal in the monitor at the windows login screen.
Mind you, that when I (dual) boot in Vista, using the 9.4 drivers, everything is fine.
Things that I tried:
1. Creating a new monitor.inf file (located at the windows folder) using info from a post in this forum.- This should not make a difference, since I was using the same monitor.inf file in the same windows 7 installation, whitout any issues before I installed the 4870.
2. Changing the ATI .inf file to include only one resolution for the r7x cards 19 20 10 80 00 00 00 60- I think it sould be a refresh rate issue, since the vga port of the TV supports many resolutions, including 1600x1200 etc.
- It could also be an unsupported resolution, if the ATi driver cannot detect the monitor correctly.
3. Installing the windows 7 default ATI driver.
Things that I noticed:
1. I can login only in safe mode.
2. Low res mode (640x480) gets me to the login in screen, but as soon as I input my passowrd, I get no signal.
3. Changing DVI ports in the 4870 (it has 2)
Does anyone have any ideas?

Now I need arecommendation for a remote for windows 7 media center control. My main goal, is to control movies to my bedroom, from my newly built htpc.
