Everytime I use my laptop when the router is turned on,I constantly get background advertisements in audio only, they can be advertising anything from a product to SKY news or BBC news.I have to put my volume in mute all the time. This happens even when I have not got a Google web page open and even when I am playing a game,I have this happening. What is causing it and what can I do to stop it?
I'm trying to record an audio track for a song using Audacity, and I'm playing the song through my headphones while trying to record my track, but I end up recording both from my mic and what's playing through the headphones. I've tried using Sound Recorder and get the same results, so it's not Audacity's problem. it seems like my audio out is also getting fed into my audio in. Ironically I've been able to find millions of tutorials about how to make your computer do this, but I cannot seem to find a way to make it NOT record from my speakers and my mic. The various settings under audio devices are bafflingly cryptic to say the least, and no where can I find an option that would hint to why my audio out is being fed to my inputs.
When I am using my laptop recently even if I am not actually using Google and just playing a game,I am picking up advertising or the news coming through my speakers.I have to turn the modem off to stop it happening.
one day my laptop just started playing the radio thru it and we cant find were its coming from and we want it gone how do i do that its very annoying and its making our laptop move slow.
This problem started a few days ago. Whenever I close my laptop, the computer shuts down. I've done the obvious and checked the settings for sleep, hibernate and shutdown on lid close, but those are all set to sleep, not shutdown. As you might imagine, this issue is a real hassle. I've been losing work and spending far too long on start up time with this.
The laptop itself is an hp pavilion dv4, if that might have anything to do with it.
I bought a new Samsung laptop a week ago. I haven't loaded any of my own programs yet, since I want to uninstall all the unnecessary stuff. I don't know which programs are safe to uninstall though, and which ones are necessary... (4GB RAM and 500 GB hard drive, Windows 7 OS).
A few months ago my HP laptop stopped displaying background pictures. I can change the color of the background, but doesn't change if I tell it to do a slideshow or use a picture from my hard drive, and when I try to change the themes it only changes the look of the windows and the default sounds. I looked it up and found a few other people having similar problems
I have a Toshiba Windows 7 laptop. I used to be able to change the background on my screen before and now I cannot. When I got to control panel to change my desktop background it pops up, "disabled by system administrator" So I logged in as the administrator (I am right now) and still I cannot find out how to change the settings so that when I log in on my account to be able to change the background. This is MY laptop. I am the only user. What do I do to make my account able to change the background again..???
I was trying to setup a laptop to HDTV through mini hdmi/hdmi cable, i was having problems setting the screen up on the HDTV, in several occasion my computer would freeze (no mouse pointer), so i restarted a couple times, now, everytime i restart my computer, i get stuck with a screen that only contains my desktop background. (no mouse pointer, no task bar, no files/programs that are supposed to be on the desktop) I am having a presentation tomorrow, please please please help me out to save me!! btw, i tried to start in safe mode, everything seems fine, but when i start it normally, the problem occurs again .
the newer smart phones have nice powerful processors in them so I was wondering if the DAC (Digital / Analog converters) in these are as good as the ones in a typical LAPTOP computer set up -- bog standard on board sound from a laptop computer -- not high end specialized studio stuff etc.My Galaxy III S phone can play FLAC files and plugging the output into a DECENT set of speakers appears to me to be just as good if not better than the same sound played from the computer - a relatively decent laptop computer (Sony VAIO VPCEH with Intel I5 processor). I tested this by connecting the phone DIRECTLY to the pre-amp with the music on the phone's micro sdhc card. Had I done it via the USB then that might have needed another DAC conversion so the test cases wouldn't have been the same.I use a phone app WINAMP PRO (just like the PC version) so I can use Folders / directories to play the music and it can play FLAC too -- a lot of music phone apps lack this facility which is a shame. I like also the "play by folders" too -- as I have a lot of Audio books -- saves endless tagging and creating playlists / albums. --Just point winamp to the directory / or file and play it.I find also streaming music from the phone to the receiver device seems to work better than messing around with pc software too -- especially on a laptop.Another app here -- OrangeSqueeze in conjunction with SQUEEZEPLAYER -does the job of the logitech squeeze server on the laptop. The phone will stream music from a Network (or any acessible drive) to the player device(s) -- no prob but use the Wifi on the phone --not the DATA content from the phone company !! otherwise your Bank balance will diminish faster than Spain's Economy.
I used to be very sceptical of smartphones --even have some posts on the forum saying I'd never buy them -- however I have to eat my own words -- the latest crop with the latest Android version are incredibly useful now and possibilities seem quite exciting with what you can do with them.Seems to me that we don't need to do much Multi-media streaming from Windows 7 in the future as your phone will handle it. Perhaps Ms is getting this right by gradually withdrawing a lot of multimedia in the standard version of W8.
I'm trying to connect a TV to my laptop and want to use my TV as the second monitor.I'm using a brand new VGA cable and the laptop is picking up the TV fine, I can change resolutions, extend etc but the TV just says 'No Signal Through PC'. I'm not ruling out that I've been unlucky enough to buy a dodgy VGA cable but I don't have another to test it with here.
My Sennheiser PC161 headset died on me, so I bought one second hand off craigslist. Got home that night and plugged it in, and the mic is not working.
My friend in Mumble says that whenever I try to transmit, he can hear what I'm hearing (i.e if i'm watching a video, then he will hear that video being transmitted). When I run the audio wizard in Mumble, it does not pick up my voice.
More oddities to note:
-W7 wants to turn the mic boost all the way up on the mic. When i turn it down W7 automatically turns it back up
-When I run Skype audio wizard, I hear static and the green bar constantly bounces around, even when I'm quiet.
-W7 microphone wizard does not pick up my voice.
-I am able to switch back to my old mic and use it seemlessly.
For the past four hours, i've been struggling with a problem, my microphone wasn't being heard by my friends who I was attempting to talk to on skype. I looked, and my microphone was hearing my voice, but my Stereo mix Was Not. I have no idea how to fix this problem, my mic is fine, i've tried multiple mics, i've also tried multiple chat things, such as ooVoo and what not. I have asked my step-father and he has no clue.
I'm on a toshiba laptop (windows 7 x64) and I have my stereo mix enabled and I want to stream some games with the ingame/music playing, but my stereo mix doesnt pick up any sound. By the way, I have a built in microphone if that matters or something. I really need to be able to stream my desktop audio.
I recently installed windows 7, I love it but it wont detect any new hard drives.
I have a 320gig sata hard drive and want to connect a IDE drive. If I connect the IDE drive to slave it picks up nothing all it picks up is my Sata Drive.
i recently finished my new desktop and my MSI motherboard 970A-G46 came with Realtek ALC892 onboard audio and for some reason i my mic will not pick up anything. i am using the tritton AX pro headset. i also have an ol set of trittons that will not work either. the front mic plug has massive static and will pick up slightly. the rear will not pick up anything at all. i have tried everything i can think of
i have been told 1155 is going away, but i was told that just under a year ago and its not proving to be true. i just came into a little extra money, and am considering the best mother board i could get my hands on for 1155.
I have a problem with a new Win XP install on a Dell 3000 (Dimension), having blown the bus on trying to install a second drive (It only allows for one hd drive), and replacing the motherboard,, it powers up, bios reads ok, I am pretty sure it is taking the OS, and now it does not read the drive, something about no drive IDE 0, IDE 1. I am using the factory install discs. Seems fine, just won't find the drive. Could it be that I am using a Western Digital 80 gig, replacing the Seagate 80 gig it came with.
my physical disability limits me to cruising forums at min imums on a Mac powerbook... ie, I am not real computer literate, and I am not to good at researching on a computer. And I am not good at doing searches anyway. It would make a good map computer for my simulator (FSX), and I am about to tear down a Sony Vaio (1.83 ghz) as soon as I can get the right parts machine for the screen. Came as a gift when one of my nephews stepped on the screen, XP pro, still works....
I'm facing a problem in my windows 7. I'm using sony vaio vpcea33en laptop which obviously having a internal mic near webcamera, thing is mic doesn't pick signals. This I figured out when trying for a web cam chat in gmail. I tried disabling / enabling, start --> troubleshoot mic related problems; no use! I don't want to change my O.s once again.
I just bought a Verbatim 1TB external hard drive (USB 2.0, 3.5") and my PC with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit is not picking it up. I have tested the USB port and it definitely works. I have tried searching for new devices. I have tried the hard drive on friend's PC also with Windows 7 and it worked. Is there some setting or something I can change on my PC to get it to pick up the hard drive?
I'm not quite sure what happened but my wireless card just stopped picking up a signal. I went and looked at all the cords there all plugged in correctly. I even pulled the card out put it back in and plugged all the wires back up to it. the computer picks up the card, the card just doesn't pick up any signal. the router is brand new i set it up i even reset it and it still wouldn't pick up a signal.s?
my cd drive is not picking up any cd can anyone tell me how to solve this please? i only brought this laptop brand new in april but dont want to take it back if it can be sorted via help from someone on here.
i've finally got the system up and running.lm using the same gfx card as l used to the Radeon 4650 HD after installing the cards drivers it seems to cause issues where the monitor gives me an "unsupported" resolution error when on my previous setup said card had no trouble going to 1350*768 (cant seem to go above 1024*768 without having to roll back drivers)
i recently bought a samsung n102s netbook. It came with windows 7 starter on it, on which wired and wireless connections worked fine. Then I installed windows 7 professional, on which I could get a wired connection, but only a very slow wireless one. Now, I've replaced professional with Windows 7 Ultimate, and my wireless connection works fine, but I can't get a wired connection. When I plug an ethernet cable in, the icon in the system tray doesn't change to the square "wired connection" one, it just stays with the wireless one. The "wired connection" icon appears briefly during startup, only to be replaced again by the wireless one.I've tried to update the drivers for the ethernet controller, which is type Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller, but to no avail; the wired connection is not picked up.
