Sudden Slow Boot - Windows 7 Has Stopped Working

Basically, my computer is relatively powerful, i built it for gaming and its worked perfectly ever since. My computer runs windows 7, it gets to the logon screen and i logon perfectly fine. Problem is that after 5 minutes of waiting it goes to the desktop and for a further 20 minutes it is unusable. To the point where if i try to click on stuff Windows displays "Windows 7 has stopped working" etc.
I notice that for this 20 minutes on the desktop my startup applications (Like Fences, Pidgin, MS Security Essentials, Dropbox) do not start. So far i have ensured that explorer.exe is running (which it is). And I have tried other stuff like running virus scans with MalwareBytes, MS Essentials and SuperAntiSpyware (Found nothing). Temperatures of my components are fine, Graphics card around 60-75 degrees, CPU Cores at around 40-55.
My computer is specced as below:
Quad Core 3Ghz CPU
8GB Ram
Nvidia 9800GTX

my laptop has recently started booting up and shuting down pretty slow, it takes about 3 mins to start up, and shutdown, but when it boots up, it runs perfectly. It yous to only take a few seconds. i'm not very knowledgeable about computer details, so if you need them, where do i find them? I do know i'm running Windows 7 and have Intel core i3. I run mcafee virus scan everyday, defrag and clean my disk everyday.

I have an HP Pavillion P6000 with Windows 7 Home Edition and I use Webroot Spy Sweeper weekly. I've never had any problems and suddenly last week while trying to get on IE, my home page would act like it was loading but it was just a white screen that disappeared about 10 seconds later. I tried rebooting and couldn't get windows to load after that. I tried "Repair My Computer" which told me no problems were found. Rebooted and couldn't get windows to load again. Found your website and used the F8 key, tried "Startup Repair", didn't help. Tried "Stsyem Restore" and while windows was able to come up, still couldn't use IE ans still can't open any programs. Now it's doing the same thing with windows not loading and it won't let me try to restore again. I get this message, "An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x800700b7). I tried using a different restore point also. I don't know much about computers

i'm having some problems with windows 7 home premium 64 bit, on my sony vaio vpceb2c5e. i got my sony vaio laptop in november 2010 so it's not too old. upon booting up windows 7 on the 15th feb 2011, i noticed the time it took windows to be functional had drastically increased from the night before when it was loaded. i hadn't installed any programs on it over the past several weeks, and about the only things i had running were google chrome (watching videos on Internet), minecraft and msn messenger.now every time when i boot up and i've logged in, i have to wait 5-10 minutes or so before i can even start to load programs or connect to a network, otherwise windows seems to not load the program i double clicked and seems to stop loading anything, but the mouse and keyboard still work and a hard shut down (holding down the power button) is required.
i tested ubuntu on the vaio and it seems to load fine, i have even tested out windows 98 which also works fine (thus eliminating the possibility of a faulty hard drive), it's just windows 7 which had suddenly got a slow load up time for me. once i have waited a long time windows seems to work fine and i can run and open everything i want, as quick as i would normally do prior to this problem.

gateway nv52 amd athlon 64 x2 ql-64 15.6" 16:9 hd led lcd 320 gb hdd 4 gb memory (not upgradable!!!!!) dvd-super multi dl drive webcam multi-in-1 card reader those are my specs, win 7 clean install. all of a sudden it is extrmely slow, i searched for viruses but came up nothing. did a registry sweep and did nothing. the computer is so slow that when i type into this dialog box it can't keep up. Internet or any video playback is impossible, it looks and sounds like direct tv when the signal is lost. terrible digital feedback noise and freezing. when i move the mouse around the curser struggles to keep up.

My computer this week decided to be really slow. So slow in fact that as I am typing this message the words fall behind. Forget video just a garbled glitchy mess. I run win 7 clean install and firefox mostly. I have a Gateway NV52 4GB of ram but even scrolling the page down is glitchy. IDK the issue. I have scanned using Morcosoft items as well as avast not sure what else to do.

For the past few days my Laptop has been very slow to load up once I have logged in. Bootup seems to be fine until the user selection page. I then select my user ID and then log in. Once I hit the submit button the screen goes white and it takes a while to load up the desktopThe mouse is visible, but nothing responds. The Windows Key doesn't bring up the Start Menu or anything.CTRL+SHIFT+ESC brings up Task Manager which shows nothing untowards.On boot-up there is no peripherals installed on the laptop, just the Power Lead and WiFi is Active.I have updates on Automatic and Windows 7 is Genuine Home Premium. ok i had some recent windows updates succesfuly and rebooted, since that at start up im getting "Error msg : Boot configuration data editor has stopped working"any way to sort this ? what cause it ?Have tryed system restore several diffirent restore dates but still the same.

Recently my computer has been force closing applications like Photoshop and Windows Explorer. It usually happens when I right click in Explorer or try to open anything in Photoshop. i have a system which i got 1 month ago and it was stable and good till recently i started getting BSOD at random times , i tried to update my bios as most were saying but i couldnt because whenever i click on bios update utilite i get black screen! with no respond (i tried the updating from bios not windows Asus dont offer bios update from inside windows ) however . i noticed i get this bluescreen often when playing shogun 2 but in general i still get BSOD when doing other stuff at random times (ex: other games/work on office package) also sometimes when i play other games i either get BSOD or a sudden system lag where everything stops with a noisy sound coming from my speaker.
btw : in my BSOD i get the famous physical memory dump 100% line at the bottom
and i also updated my graphics drivers and rolled back to the old stable one but with no use

As i read on forums my problem is quite common. Cod 2 and Cod 4 when i start multiplayer it crashes and gives me cod 2 stopped working error. My sound card is "High Definition Sound Device" i can't find stereo mix on my pc and i tried plugging a mic in pc and still the games crash. Single player works fine.

I can use a usb pendrive, or a memory card reader in my usb.But both of my protable usb hard drives are not showing when plugged in.I have tried a usb 'Y' cable.but no good.Both drives work on my netbook..But not on my windows 7 pc.

I bought this Fujitsu laptop for less than a year. Its only for my school work. It takes forever to bootup, startup and it sometime hangs when I open up a program or typing.For the bootup, it takes very long time on the window logo, after that the black screen, followed by the welcome page with the loading cursor. Each of this process take a long time. For startup, its not so long but its still quite lag. For the opening up of program and typing, everytime I open up my visual studio, it will take a long time to show up and even if it showed up, it will be "not responding".So I will have to open it a second time before I can start using itWhen I am typing my codes, it will randomly hang and show that the program is not responding. I am still able to move my cursor though.

Having a problem the past 2 days, when going into one particular file on my c drive I am getting windows explorer has stopped working and am prompted to restart or the infamous check for an online solution.I am able to open every other folder on this drive and have no issues, have tried a sfc /scannow but found no errors.

I recently renewed my internet security subscription. Immediately after doing so, the Calendar and Weather gadgets stopped working. The Calendar shows up as a blank orange/white square and opening up the Weather gadget will just reveal the "i" information symbol and a X close button, neither of which actually work.
Clock gadget also stopped working but then after an hour later it started working again and has been working since. I have tried deleting/uninstalling the gadgets but that hasn't worked. I have tried several tricks with the Windows command prompt which doesn't work either.
I'm considering using an automatic system restore (I don't have any manual saved points to restore) on just the gadgets themselves. Is that the way to go, or is there something else I could try? I've decided to name it: McAfee. I didn't at first, because it's been my experience whenever I mention a problem and mention an antiviral program.
I mention McAfee because it's an odd thing: I've searched forums and have found that others have had the almost the same problem; except with them it happens when you UNINSTALL McAfee, not renew it. I've also found another possible solution that involves deleting a registry key, but I'm way too nervous to try that.

When I start the computer it all seems normal until the desktop appears and the icons load. Before I can do anything I get a pop up saying Windows Explorer has stopped working. I have the option to restart windows or check on line for a solution. Both options give the same results. It initially started when I downloaded a torrent that was a folder containing a video. Once the download had completed I attempted to open the folder but I got the message "Windows Explorer has stopped working - windows is checking for a solution to the problem", then a different windows pops up with "Windows explorer is restarting". After a few seconds the start bar vanishes then comes back almost immediately. I thought that possible the folder I had downloaded was corrupt so tried deleting it, but when I right clicked on the folder I got the same. I used a program called Glary utilities to permanently delete the folder and that did the trick.A few days passed and I used utorrent to download another, different video, which was also contained in a folder, and I am having the same message come up on this one - "Windows Explorer has stopped working - windows is checking for a solution to the problem" This is the only folder, as far as I'm aware, that this happens with. One time when I tried to open it the following came up instead of the usual "windows explorer has stopped" - The instruction at 0x0a04b890 referenced memory at 0x033f3d0e. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate this program. run scndisk, chkdisk, spybot S&D, malwarebytes, Avast and Microsoft security essentials and some registry cleaners/fixers but nothing has helped. I also downloaded a program called "WER_Explorer" which apparently creates a dump file whenever the error occurs, but I can't open make any sense of it all. I downlaoded the above program from [URL]. I can access the folder when I run in safe mode, and the folder is shared on a home network and I can access it from my laptop.

Ok first of all im sirgail or giga from philippines and im new to the forum. I came here to seek help about my problem its been 3 days already been looking for a solution with my problem but no luck on finding a topic with same problem with me[CODE]whenever i click close the program or check online for a solution and close the program still it will popup again ( the error). Its annoying but somehow i manage to skip it by pressing ctrl+alt+delete task manager and click processes and end process the explorer.exe in order for me to use the internet and browse but the only problem is i cant go to "My computer" drives cause the error will popup again and i cant right click on the desktop and the task bar is not there cant even see the windows or press the windows startup

Everytime I wanted to open my folder and files, this thing appear on my screen. Then, it refreshed everything and the folder that I opened is gone. So, i have to open that folder again and still this windows appear again. It's hard for me to open a folder because of this. I have tried the ways in the internet and it's not working at all.

I installed Photoshop 7.0 about 6 months ago with Windows 7, 64-bit operating system. It successfully installed and I have been using it with no issues. Over this weekend, it just stopped working and I get the following error:
"Unable to continue because of a hardware or system error. Sorry, but this error is unrecoverable."
I have uninstalled Photoshop and tried to reinstall it but still have the same issue.

This started a week ago. I have Windows 7. Whenever I try to play a video or music or try to download with realplayer, I get the message "Realplayer stopped working" within a few seconds of starting the play or download, then it shuts down. My USB ports on my ASUS c90s laptop suddenly stopped working one by one. After reading around the internet it seems this is a windows 7 problem. When I go to device management I have other devices not working. Two Base system devices under a PCI bus category and an "Unknown Device". The unknown device is under the Intel(R) 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Controller - 27B8 section. It has no driver, even though I downloaded the driver manually it still doesn't work. I've tried removing my battery and then replacing it. I disabled all the USB ports then restarted. I've even uninstalled them aswell as the unknown device.I went to theregistry:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlClass{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}and found one solution to delete the upper and lower values. I had no lower values just a "lowerlogoversion" but I did delete the upper value. I then restarted and attempted to plug my mouse into my USB again and it was recognized for about a second and the red light under my mouse lit up but then went away.
