Back Button Doesn't Work?
Feb 17, 2013When I hit the back button (no matter how many times), nothing happens. Now, I understand that this can happen on some pages, but this is EVERY PAGE. Sometimes if I refresh the page and then hit the back button it will work, but not always. Since it does it on every page, it's obviously not website-related, so what is it?

Jan 4, 2012before some months i made two partitions on my hard drive to install ubuntu 10.10 and installed it sucessfull the dual-boot thing worked very well also BUT yesterday i decided to unistall it so i formatted the two partitions where i had ubuntu and then using EasyBCD i reinstalled the windows vista/7 boot loader and worked well until today where i wanted to enter the advanced boot menu using the F8 button but it didnt work i tryed several times but with no luck before the installation of ubuntu i was able to accses the menu but now i cant

(It still works, I just click on the blank spot) I don't how it happened, my guess is my wife did something....she only uses it for facebook and myspace.And I just found out that it only disapears when i change the taskbar's settings to auto-hide.I sniped a pic of it.

Sep 24, 2012Occasionally, when on a web page with pictures/video/flash, the screen will "freeze" and have some random colored pixels appear or sometimes it will just go black. Sometimes when this happens the whole system will remain locked. Other times it will recover and I will get a notification balloon saying the the graphics driver has stopped and recovered from an error. I've looked for answers to this on the web and I have seen reference to it being caused by a Windows timeout waiting for a response from the video card. Is there a way to modify (extend) the timeout value to try to prevent this? I have the latest drivers. In my case the graphics card is NVidea Quadro FX 1800M on a Dell Precision M4500 notebook (8G RAM). OS: Win 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

Aug 13, 2012Yesterday, the task bar and Start button mysteriously disappeared.I've also found that the "Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" windowdoesn't come up. There are two places to click on in Control Panelthat should bring up this window, but it doesn't. The Control Panelborder changes color as if something is starting to happen, but thennothing happens, possibly indicating that some program starts to runbut then finds something wrong and exits. I didn't see anythinginteresting in the error logs. The desktop icons appear normally.The problem exists only when logging onto my son's account. When Ilog on as administrator, the task bar and Start button appearnormally.The usual tricks don't work: Ctrl+ESC, or bringing up Task Manager andtrying to rerun explorer.exe. I tried sfc to check for corruptedfiles, but none turned up. I ran an AVG scan and it did find one fileit considered a threat, which it removed, but that didn't solve theproblem.
I found a web site that referred to the registrykeyHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorerwhich has a NoSetTaskbar value that can be used to disable the"Taskbar and Start Menu Properties" window. On the administratorlogin, the Explorer subkey is there all right, but doesn't haveNoSetTaskbar. (It does have NoDriveTypeAutoRun.) But when I log ontomy son's account, the Policies key had no subkeys at all. I triedadding an Explorer subkey without adding any values, but this didn'tsolve the problem. I haven't yet tried adding a NoDriveTypeAutoRunvalue, but since this seems to pertain to AutoPlay it didn't seemrelevant to this problem.Any thoughts as to what might be going on or what might fix it?

Nov 13, 2010This will permanently remove or change the Start Button "Start" balloon tip.I'm using ResHack v3.5.2 Beta for this tutorial.GoTo C:Windowsen-US and Take Ownership of and then copy the explorer.exe.mui to somewhere safe.If you are running a 64 bit system you should also modify the explorer.exe.mui which is located in C:WindowsSysWOW64en-USNow open your explorer.exe.mui(s) in ResHack and navigate to String Table 34, line 533. Modify / delete to your liking.
