Windows 7 pro (64 bit) makes the default sound device into "High Definition Audio Device" and doesn't seem to find any others. How do i get the analog ports on the front of the computer to work for a headset?
How do I add another sound device? it doesn't seem to find or recognize anything else.
Windows 7 sees my bluetooth device. It shows the services as available and (via checkmarks in the boxes) selected for use. But my headset never shows up in the Playback devices and no sound comes through the headset.
i just updated my sound drivers but i cant get sound to come out of my headset now.i was messing with some settings and the best i got was half volume coming from my laptop speakers and half volume coming from my headset now i get no sounds from any websight out of either of my speakers.if i click the test option in the playback devices i can get that but left side comes out of my headset and right comes out of my computer.its an analog headset so btw so i cant find it under devices what should i do.
I purchased a china-made Bluetooth headset that works perfectly on my phone, on my netbook (Dell Inspiron Mini - Windows 7 Starter) and my office laptop (HP Compaq running on Win XP). The problem is that it is not working on my other HP laptop (HP Compaq 6730B), wherein I really intended to use the Bluetooth headset as this is my personal laptop. It looks like there is nothing wrong with the headset itself as it works with other computers. The device pairing works well, the drivers were automatically installed and Windows said it is ready to use. I can see the headset in the audio devices. I can also see it from the mixer window. When I test it, I can see green bar coming up but no sound coming out from the headset. I also tried to do the following:1. Make the headset as the default audio device2. Download and installed WIDCOMM BT drivers3. Tried to upgrade the drivers from the driver details4. Remove and paired several timesI am running out of ideas of things to do.
my laptop doesn't have the sound card to provide 7.1 surround sound, it does however have Dolby Surround Sound, so I was thinking if I purchased a 7.1 surround sound headset, how can I configure each speakers on it? Since currently the only audio channel I have is Stereo. The headset is plugged in by USB, so it must act like a sound card on its own, if I plug in the USB headset, will it provide me another audio channel for 7.1?
I have a Cybersnipa Sonar 5.1 Headset and after i installed the driver from their website I have no more sound. I have tested this on 2 other Win 7 PC's and had the same result and I have contacted their support with no real resolution. I have also tried uninstalling the driver, but there is still no sound. Is there a way to completely remove the drivers that they installed or to revert back to the previous drivers?
I've been having trouble since about 2 days back, my headset and my speakers worked just fine till i shut the computer down for the night. then the following morning there was just no sound, I kinda tried everything these days but nothing works...Anyway, I got a steelseries 3h VR headset and some kind of speakers, I know that they both work ( I tried it on my dads computer) so there's no problem with them i guess. I got windows home premium 64bit?
I have a Siberia V2 Headset w/ a built in soundcard. The headset itself has a volume slider which is good because I don't have to open the volume settings or touch my computer to change the volume, but the output sound is very quiet. I have to have the volume on 100 and then adjust the slider to a comfortable level. I hate doing this because it has become annoying. Is there anyway I can amplify the sound of the output which is a sound card?
i am using the LOGITECH PC Headset 120 and while using ventrilo other people can hear the sound that is being played into my headset, music or other peaople talking, through my mic.
i have been having this problem for a few months now and thought that it was something todo with ventrilo settings. But i have recently started using skype now aswell and have been getting the same response from people that i am talking to on skype.
the headset never came with any install cd or anything so am i missing a setting in my control panel or something that is causing this to happen as it is getting quite annoying for the people that i am talking too.
NO SOUND. Razer Megalodon USB headphones. Asus P8P67 LE motherboard 8.1 surround sound using Reaktek audio with latest drivers. Headphones show in device manageraudio. Configured sound settings to 7.1 audio. There is no sound through the headset when running the test sound. The volume control dialogue box shows audio levels are being produced (green level indicator moves up and down).
New headset, plugged in with no sound. Checked control panel configurations, which looked OK with volume turned all the way up. Clicked on volume control on right ear & pop up shows high volume level, but still no sound.
I'm running Windows 7 64bit. Not sure exactly what sound card I have, just says RealTek High Definition Audio on my Sound Devices list beside my headset. This headset is only about a year old, doesn't seem to have a model number, it's just a USB device with a mic attached. It only started doing this today. I plug it in, sound plays fine for anywhere from 30 mins to a couple hours then the sound completely cuts out and I have to replug it back in, it plays fine again till it decides to cut out again.
I recently built a new machine (full specs in my profile). It's running great, except for one issue that I'm having. I have a pair of Gearhead Headset AU6000 that I was using for gaming on my other XP machine. This headset came with an installation disk for XP and was plug and play for Vista. It won't install in Win 7, if I use the disk it acts like it's going to install, but just stops there. I've been to Gearhead's website looking for drivers, but in a word what a joke that was. I have also been unsuccessful finding any drivers in my web searches. Does anyone know if there are drivers for this device that will work in Win 7, or I'm beating a dead horse here?
I bought a new headset. I made it discoverable, Windows found it, but could not find the drivers. I have scoured the internet with no avail. I don't know the company that makes it because its a cheap one, it DOES work with my android so I think it's just a Windows problem. Here is my info:OS: Windows 7 HP 64bitLaptop: HP Pavilion DV7-6C50CABluetooth radio: Intel Centrino wireless bluetooth 3.0 driver version 1.0.90.20620
I have a GearHD (Gearhead) AU6000 USB headset that 7 is unable to find any drivers for. I've looked on the manufactures website and nothing there for this product, in any OS. I've emailed them, but waiting on a response.
In the meantime, does anyone know of a generic USB headset driver I could try? I've tried Googling extensively, to no avail.
as stated in the subject, I am unable to hear any sound from my speakers since upgrading to the windows 7 64 bit. I followed the other post that I found on this but I still cannot hear any sound.I have a dell inspiron 531. The hardware ids from the device manager areHDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_1028020E&REV_1000 HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0888&SUBSYS_1028020EI have installed the realtek drivers and they as working but I still get nothing but a slight hiss from my speakers. I have tried them on my laptop and they work fine.Does anybody know what might be causing this? I am half tempted to get a new sound card but I am reluctant as it says my existing one is working (it just seems to have forgotten to tell the speakers!) If anybody knows a fix for this I really would be eternally grateful

I installed a driver for my sound card, only to find out that sound just wouldn't play on my laptop. (It says that the sound is playing, it's just that it isn't coming through the speakers.) I know that the drivers are updated, so if you're going to ask if my driver is updated, the answer to that is yes. At first, I had thought that it was only a problem with the driver, or the hard drive, but that's not it... I don't know what the problem is. I've tried looking for solutions online, but absolutely nothing worked.I don't want to be stuck with the generic "High Definition Audio Device" which will just mute the speakers at the most random times.
I asked some questions yesterday and got a little response but i stil didnt manage get my sound working.
I installed Windows 7 a couple of days ago on a new custom built pc but i cannot get sound.
In the bottom right it just says Digital Audio (S/PDIF) .. i have no speakers in my monitor so i bought some logitech ones, they are all plugged in right placees..
I am trying to install Realtek HD Sound drivers; I have been unable to find any drivers that are written for Windows 7. So I have been downloading the Vista ones without success. I have tried loading them in compatibility mode and under windows vista and xp but each time it just says error during installation or OS not supported.
Does anybody know where I can find Realtek sound drivers for windows 7?
