Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio: Speakers Pop When Click Somethings

I put in a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCIe), installed the latest driver from Creative, found here: Creative Worldwide Support (1.04.0000, released 30th June, 2009), and it seems that whenever I click things that make noise (a good example being the volume slider in the system tray), one of my speakers (which one being somewhat random) makes a fairly loud *popping* noise. It also does this when I press a button on the keyboard that makes noise (such as when I press the left arrow in the Find box in Chrome when it's empty).
Ive got Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio in, ive downloaded the xp, vista and 7 beta drivers from creative, they either say driver version not found OR they say the device isn't plugged in properly, which it is having run it with xp. The only thing i don't have is the disk anymore.
Has anyone managed to get this sound card working with 7? if so how did you manage it?
I'm running Windows 7 build 7600, and seem to have a sound card driver issue. Sound is successfully comming out, but it is screwed up, it fades in and out and has terrible quality (driver from clean install). I am using this sound card, have looked around the forum and have come across a post leading to this driver, unfortunately the download link is no longer working, and was posted several months ago, so maybe there is a newer driver available. Can anyone provide me with a link to the latest up-to-date driver for this sound card please?
I just purchased and install a Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Card and downloaded from Creative the Win 7 drivers. Everything started to go fairly well. I configured for a Quadraphonic Speakers configuration. Tested sound, using Manage Audio Device, at all four speakers and I could hear the sound. However, when I used the Window Medial Player or any other player, no rear speakers sound can be heard.
I cannot see my audio driver through system information or anything. So I had to open my CPU tower and found out that my sound card is Sound blaster live model CT4780. Can anyone please tell me how do I use this card with windows 7. I don't know if it will work with Windows Vista driver and I couldn't find a driver for it. I went to dell's website and that driver didn't work, probably was not compatible with Windows 7.
So I updated my PC today and when it came back on there was no sound what so ever! My g35's still have sound but my Logitech Z5500 nothing, I have tried everything, updating, re installing the Realtek sound drivers, restoring the pc, even wired the speakers up to my partners media PC and sound comes through ruling out speakers.
I have tried upgrading the bios, been in bios looking around everything is enabled, in playback device option the green bar is filling up indicating everything is fine there. I have tried a SPDIF Optical cable, nothing, the standard black, green and orange cables, and nothing, I'm at witts end with the thing at the moment.
So I built this computer a few weeks ago with Windows 7 Ultimate. Everything sound-wise has been working til a few days ago, but I have been working through some video problems.Since this started on Friday, the sound mixer/volume control shows sound playing. But nothing comes out the speakers. When I click the top, it doesn't say 'speakers', it says 'Realtek audio'. When I click that, the sound window comes up and under "jacks" it says "rear optical jack." The top says S/PDIF. Those are both formats that I have never used on this system.I've always used only the rear panel analog jack.Anyways, I feel like I've tried everything under the sun and I'm close to RMA'ing the motherboard.
My computer was recently RMA'd due to a faulty PSU and video card. I just received it back and the speakers that I used before no longer work. I figured it was a driver issue and simply downloaded the RealTek drivers but it didn't fix the problem. The AMD card comes with its own drivers. I had problems in the past with their HD audio codecs and tried uninstalling them but that didn't seem to fix it either. I went into device manager and located that there were drivers installed and they checked out. I checked for hidden or disabled devices in "Playback devices" and didn't find any.
Things I've tried: - Installing audio drivers. - Uninstalling and reinstalling audio drivers. - System restore. - Checking proper connection of speakers. - Verification that speakers work.
By just looking at the audio mixer, it would appear that the system is playing sounds because there is activity in the mixer when a song or other sounds are playing. The problem is there is nothing coming from the speakers. Is it possible that my audio ports on the motherboard could be faulty?

from the digital audio device? every time i plug in my $20 speakers i got from target, the audio device changes from my soundmax driver (which comes thru the lappy speakers) to a digital audio device in my little speaker icon thingy and i don't know how to manually change it back except thru reinstalling the drivers and rebooting a bunch of times,when i go to properties it only shows the enabled device and i can't find the other output option. if i reinstall the soundmax drivers it switches back to laptop speakers but this is obviously a hassle.
I recently went into my computer to install a Corsair H80 Water pump for the GPU. Anyhow, after i connected all the cables and turned on the computer again i did not have any sound. Even though im not an expert with computers, i'm pretty sure all the cables are connected right (but there is always a possibility i screwed up there).I do have sound devices, that is not the issue. After the first pc boot i had the Realtek digital output (realtek high definition audio) as the sound device. I went into the control panel and pressed sound. The previous audio device (that i had and was working) was there, but stated as "Not plugged in".So, my computer does not detect or react as i connect any headsets nor speakers. I also checked the audio in the mixer to see that it "plays sound" which i can confirm.I have searched the web for people with the same issues and tried a few "solutions" but none of them worked for me.They were:
1. Uninstall and reinstalling the drivers 2. Making sure i got the latest versions of the drivers 3. Turning on the front jack panel in the Realtek HD Audio Manager, which resulted with the speakers apparing to be connected and works according to the computer but still no sound. 4. Tried different speakers and headphones.
After trying several things im starting to believe it might be me who failed at connecting the computer. But if so i have no idea how to fix it, as it does not matter if i connect the audio cable instead of the HD audio cable or if i leave them unconnected.My os is Windows 7 Ultimate.I got an Intel motherbord DX58SO and my sound device/card is Realtek high definition audio?
I just bought a pc, windows 7 32bit. I tried to use my headphones but couldnt hear any sound, also tried speakers still no sounds. The green bar goes up on the volume control tho. I have tried downloading some drivers, but they didnt work.
theres some audio ports at the back of the pc and at the front. both dont work.
my Windows 7 x64 (7100) found after a clean install new optional updates which included drivers for my soundblaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. I also used the drivers I got with the cd and installed them on my system. Everything is working now except a few options. I get sound in 5.1, but when I select options like X-Fi Crystallizer, X-Fi CMSS-3D or just change the volume bars (FL, FR, RL, etc) nothing happens!
Before I installed Windows7 x64 I was using Windows XP Pro x86 without any problems. When using the above mentioned options they did changed the sound.
Is it possible that I've to download drivers by my self instead of the Windows updates one?
I recently installed windows 7 on my computer and everything worked well accept my sound didn't work.
I put in my Creative SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio driver CD and tried to install them but I ended up with a BLUE SCREEN! about 70% into the installation
I reaserched that many people have almost the same problem with SB X-Fi xtreme audio drivers and windows 7. Can any one give me any suggestions of what could be the problem.
System has been blessed with a new lease of life. Faster, more responsive and my god Windows 7 looks sexy! Now, if there is a tiny niggle of an issue, then it is why I am posting today. I have the Creative Xtreme Audio soundcard on my system and Windows 7 has updated it to all the latest drivers. Sound seems ok and thus far it is not reporting any problems. I have the Creative Media Organiser and all the other mod cons etc etc. However, where has my Volume Panel interface gone? In Win XP, I had it permanently attached to my task bar. Basically, a little volume icon if you like in bottom right corner with everything else. You right click the icon and then you get the entertainment console where you can change settings etc. Looked nice, even in XP. I must admit I'm a tad disappointed it's not here in Windows 7 and also confused as to why everything else is here except that facility.Do I have to download it separately? I don't fancy putting my original CD in that came with PC from day one as I'd have to manually look for that particular component and extract it. Infact, I don't even know if that is an option as I am pretty sure it formed part of the whole "Medisource Go" package and I have that and it's up to date.
I have had this sound card now for about 3 years. Everything worked fine with XP sp2 along with my old Logitech Z-560(THx) 4.1 speaker setup. Ever since I upgraded to Win7x64 it seems to not like this new card for whatever reason. I uninstalled the Xp drivers, and I disabled onboard sound in the bios. I even tried the latest beta driver on the Creative website. Nothing seems to work for my issue. The issue is that the rear speakers work, but they act as another somewhat muted front, and not a rear speaker. In the Creative Console Launcher, the rear speakers don't make any sound at all when testing channels.Also, the card stutters a bit during gameplay. More noticeably so during older games like CS Source. It will pause the graphics for 1/2 a second during a sound about once every 4-5 minutes (sometimes more often).I have been using 2.1, or stereo just fine, but I would like to use those rear speakers! Of note, the Logitech Z-560 speakers only have a green and black connection both are plugged in.
I just bought a new pc from Dell. I opted out of buying the SB sound card they had as an option and now I am sorta regretting that. I loaded RC 7100 as soon as I got the machine and after going through this forum I am sorta left with the impression that SB cards don't work with Win 7. Is that really the case?
I was looking at an "Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Sound Card" but if it will just cause me grief it's not worth it. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can get and not pull my hair out trying to get it to work? The main game I play sounds sorta mediocre with the on-board sound.
I'm trying to make my "Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum ex" works on Windows 7 64 bits, I did install the most new version of the drivers provided by Creative Labs, it seems like it is installed without any problems.the Device Manager shows all drivers are installed correctly...when I run the audio test the graphic moves like if the soundcard actually works but the real thing is: THERE IS NO SOUND!!, I have done all the tests that Creative labs recommends in their page but I got nothing
Creative SoundBlaster 5.1, got a problem installing with driver, any solution? i check the creative site, they don't seem to have an installer for my sound card?
my sound blaster live the model is SB0100 on my windows 7. i want to make it work but no matter drivers for win 7. the windows isnt digitally signing my soundcard.
i hav dual boot with Windows 7 64-bit ultimate RC and win XP..... my windows 7 does not detect my sound card. when i try to install any drivers , i get a msg "Setup is unable to detect any supported product on ur system" [i tried many drivers]..In the Device manager, drivers for "Multimedia Audio Controller" & "PCI Simple communication controller" are not installed.. but no issues with win XP.
Okay, I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit. I have been searching for a week for this driver, downloaded many apps, but non of them worked. Some displayed card not detected and such. I tried to use compatibility mode but no difference. The name of the card is exactly "Sound Blaster 5.1" not VX and the other ones.
I don't know why this works. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy Se sound card that wasn't working after installing Windows 7. I've been trying for days to fix this problem and finally and mysteriously I got my soundcard to work. I downloaded every driver from the Creative website to daniel_k's drivers and still nothing. Anyways, what I did was reinstall Windows 7 which takes no time at all.
DO NOT INSTALL ANY UPDATES!!! Again, I don't know why, but I only chose to install the Sound Blaster Audigy update and it worked! The first time I installed windows 7 I installed updates and then tried to install the sound blaster updates and it didnt work. I highly recommend this to everyone!
