I have 7 different email accounts on my WLM. Currently, whenever I send or delete a message, it goes into the corresponding folder under the designated email account. This requires that when I want to search for a deleted or sent item, I have to look under every account to find it. I currently have Quick View and storage folders moved to the top, and now move any sent and deleted items to these manually, so I have them all in one place. Is there any way, that when I delete or send a message, that it will automatically be sent to the storage folders, rather than the actual email account folders?
Is is possible to either delete or hide the "search folders" and "deleted iems" folders that appear in each pst file created?
We use individual pst files to file our emails per current job. But the folders above take up a lot of visual space in the toolbaro it would be preffered to hide or delete them.
We do not use either to "file" emails so the compact now option in the data file managment dialog box does not really apply since I believe this is really a benefit when the file is archived.
I successfully restored lots of 'orphan' messages, one by one. Now I have the tedious task of moving them back to the folders they started in, from the Storage Folders to the account-related ones. It is tedious because you have to manually create each individual folder in the target area. But why bother? At least for relatively inactive files? That is, what is the operational difference between Storage Folders and the account-related ones? I cannot find a simple description of that elsewhere.
I have folders under STORAGE FOLDERS that I am taking off GMAIL since I wont be using that account no more.I have been organizing folders and putting folders for the correct account I just noticed I have 6 empty folders.
On my employers computer last night his storage folders began to randomly delete themselves from his windows live mail every time he shut to program down. Over the course of shutting down and reopening the program 4-5 times a total of nearly 60GB's of email was deleted from his Windows Live mail. I used a data recover program to scan the hard drive and recover the deleted items. The inbox and sent folder remains untouched and and new folders created at the same root level as sent and inbox appear to be unaffected as well. Some of the recovered email is corrupted and is just gibberish and random text strings and symbols. Have no idea what it causing this and not sure if a reinstall of the Live mail client would correct this issue. The system is a Windows 7 32-bit, IE 9.0, all adobe items up to date, java up to date, mcafee antivirus, and windows fully up to date prior to this starting last night.
I've done well setting up a new computer with Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail and transferring everything from my Windows XP computer with Windows Live Mail.I run a small business and desperately want to keep everything in my Storage Folder with many client sub-folders on my XP computer.I have read and read and read for 2 days how to export/import these messages but nothing is workingI can easily find the file with all my folders in it on the XP but there is nothing within the folders. The messages do exist as they are still there on the Windows Live Mail screen. When I export and try to import on Windows 7 it says the file is empty which of course it is.
I have got a 60gb SDD from which I boot my OS and a 1tb HDD which acts as my storage drive. Most things I can direct to the HDD, but occasionally I find that despite directing a program to install on my HDD (E: drive) its will install on BOTH the HDD AND the SSD (C: drive). For example: I created a directory on the HDD into which I installed the game AION. I then checked my SSD and saw that it was almost full and that the game had not only stored on the HDD but also the SSD.I would like to avoid this as my gbs are precious few (I have already optimized my SSD to get rid of un-needed clutter, etc.). I would like to understand the behaviour of these programs and also get your opinion on if its safe for me just to DELETE the AION folder from my c: drive (without having to go through the whole DL process again).
When you delete files from a network share, they don't go to the recycle bin, they go for good. So I'm looking for a freeware version of Diskeeper's Undelete - something that can be used to recover deletions from networked drives.
This seems to be hard going. I understand it may be possible to do this if I uninstall/reinstall the program but that seems like overkill. Also I imagine if I go into the programs folders on the C-drive I should be able to pick them outut why can't I seem to do this easily from within the program?
Before uninstalling the operating system all data files were backed up into a separate directory on C. After the o.s. was reloaded I downloaded Windows Live Mail and started to use it. I want to recover the backed up storage folders and the contacts folder and instal them into the new Live Mail. Since I am using the most recent installation, is this creating a problem that will not allow the backed up folders etc. to write into the new folders.
After moving an email to my 'saved stuff' folder within the Storage folder, I delete the original item within the Inbox. I find that the saved item has also vanished. This has happened over 6 times. I keep restoring the item by sending it to myself again from another source. I've been assuming that an item in the Inbox that is also in the Storage folder area would result in having two emails on my machine. Is this wrong? Is one a shortcut?
I have been using Windows Live Mail for about a month. I am still trying to set it up so that I can have all of my messages at the top left, and not within each email account.
I have set up Quick Views which covers most, but not deletes. Noting the Storage Folders at the bottom, I "moved up" these folders (along with the Out Box) so that they are under the Quick Views, above all of the email accounts I have. However, whenever I restart the program, they are back at the bottom.
Additionally, whenever I delete an incoming message, or send out a message, it goes into the appropriate email account, rather than were I would prefer, into the storage folders for these items, where they would all be together when I am searching for a prior incoming or sent email.
1st Question: How can I keep the storage folders at the top on restart? 2nd Question: How can I have deletions and sent messages, automatically placed into the appropriate Storage Folders, rather than into the individual email accounts?
Keyboard and mouse drivers unaffected.USB Mass storage device properties messagewith driver check on:"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device."with driver check off:Tells me drivers are corrupt or missing.Search show diver where it should be:C:\Windows\System32\drivers\usbstor.sys (also usbfilter.sys).Used the HP Recovery Manager to restore factory setting for USBStor.sys, it indicates it is successful but no changeon reboot, still cannot use flash drives, SD cards, external HDs. how to handle USB removable media inside camera. With camera there is no "Safely remove hardware and eject media" option. When Photo camera is connected, a new camera device is installed and GUI window is opened with option to browse or copy photos. But there is no removable storage devise eject button on notification area. The USB removable Storage devise is also present on File Manager Computer left panel but again, there is no mouse right button eject option as normally with removable storage devices. I have checked in on several computers. How to understand. I don't believe that it's camera specific but Camera is Canon S95.
i use BitLord to download random stuff anyways the Downloads Folder Shows up like this : Now when i open Nero up it shows this Weird thing is if i hover over the folder from normal window it says the Downloads folder is only 800mb (as it is only showing me one item) yet from Nero it says the folder is over 9 Gigs. Im set as Owner of the folder and i have all permissions set for me however i am still unable to see these files outside of nero and i don't know why. When i go and try to change the permissions on the folders (the locked ones) windows says the files/folders doesn't exist...
I have a Windows 7 32bit laptop and I do not have MS Office installed. I have been using Hotmail until a couple weeks ago when I was "converted" to outlook.com email - which I like OK. When I'm using a browser - IE9 in this case - and when I click on "send link as" or "send page as", it launches Windows Live Mail and puts me in a WLM output email. I would instead like it to launch me into outlook.com and an outlook.com output email. How can I do this - or can't it be done at all?
I have just done a clean install of Win 7 Pro 64. I have set up four accounts and for each one I have moved the user folders to a separate hard drive by using the Right Click Properties > Location > Move. I have done this for the following folders:
- Desktop - Downloads - My Documents - Favorites - Links - My Music - My Pictures - Videos
I have done it exactly the same way on each account (and more than once! I've been imaging the disk and have restored backwards a few times.)
The problem is, on three of the accounts, when I move the My Music, My Pictures, and Videos then they do move correctly but three rogue folders appear named Music, Pictures and Videos. And I can't delete then since they are system folders.
But the weird thing is that this does not happen on one of the accounts!
how to get rid of the extra folders as they're cluttering up the users home folder and causing confusion.
In Windows 7 how can I change "Folders View" for individual folders without changing them system wide. For example if I select "always show icons" all my folders are set this way, and that's fine. But there are a few folders I have containing jpeg images, and I want to view those as "thumbnails" without effecting the others which are set to always show icons.
This was very easy to do in Windows XP but I can't figure out how to do it in Windows 7.
I have problem, recently all new folder are created optimized for video content with big pictures and such. How can I fix that so they are created as normal folders, because this is driving me nuts having to change this for every new folder.
The structure of my photos library is Y/Y_M/Y_M_D, e.g. 2010/2010_04/2010_04_16 for today. I want to change all the '_' to '-'. Does anyone know an easy way of doing this?
THE OS of my net book is Windows 7 Home Premium and I would like to know why I cannot find a FILE when i type its name in "Search for programs and files" in Start Menu. It can only show PROGRAMS you would like to find. Ex. I would like to find techguy.doc. I knew the file is in my system but I cannot search it in Start Menu Search Panel for quick access. It says No Items match your search. In contrast, in my desktop (OS is Windows 7 Ultimate) it can find specific file ( pictures, music, doc etc) and also the programs. I would just like to know if it depends on the Windows Edition.
ive been backing up data on my computer only to open up recycle bin the other day and find most of the files missing. I was very confused. Then i realised i had recently deleted 2 or 3 large files in size of 2 or more gb and that the recycle bins capacity is 4gb Has recycle bin deleted my older items because there wasn't enough space? I need to find or restore the old files. Im guessing the recycle bin dir in c: has now been modified showing the current status. Can i recover any older recycle bin dir or any files which list the files that were in recycle bin before is was modified and deleted old files? I have tried free undelete programs but they all only show the current recycle bin contents, i need to find the old contents. I also mucked around with some security settings of recycle bin and corrupted it. I had to empty it. Does this mean a new recycle bin file has been made? How can i restore the old contents.
FI have a Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit computer with 6 GB of DDR2 and an Intel Core Quad processor. My problem started when the beta for Office 2010 came out. My computer came pre-installed with Office 2007 so I wanted to try the new and it wouldn't install. I didn't really care too much because I don't use Word or anything too much. But when I tried to reinstall Office 2007 I got the same error. Error 1935. Over a period of three days I spent with Microsoft Tech to just lead me to call Gateway about the problem. I figured it was a Microsoft Office thing, but recently, I tried to install Microsoft C++ and something else that another program relied on. Another error. And just today, I tried to update my Anti-Virus and I got this, "Installation of the Microsoft Runtime Redistributable Kit has failed. The probable cause is a Windows update running in parallel." So I updated my computer, with 2 unnecessary updates, and restarted. Same error.
So I made a repair disk and ran it, still the same problem. I've looked all over the web fornothing credible has worked. I have already deleted and un installed everything off my computer that isn't necessary for it to work. I just want to type up my essay with the comfort of not having to try to format things in WordPad.
I pinned adobe reader to task bar and then pinned all my PDF documents.(It's called "jump list"...did not know..)problem is that I can only have 20 links to my documents, when I pin more i can not see them until I remove an existing link(or more, if I added more...) from the pinned and recent menu of Adobe Reader.Another problem is that I also can not see any recent items when my pinned items list is full(20 items)
I am able to copy and paste items onto my desktop. I can right click and create a new folder or text file on my desktop, I can move folders onto my desktop, but I can't move files from anywhere else on my hard drive to my desktop. Attempting to move a file to the desktop does not return any error, it just does not move from its location.
I decided to run ccleaner again and make a virus scan. Some viruses were found and a lot of crap was deleted with ccleaner, I also disabled some things in the boot menu with ccleaner (or what is it called?). After that I turned my pc off but first Windows had to do some update. The next time I started my pc the taskbar and desktop were gone, the only thing that is there when it starts is a window with the drives etc.
- ctrl-alt-delete -> run -> explorer.exe -> normally the taskbar should show up but it opens another window with the drives
- replaced the explorer.exe file, nothing changed
- installed another anti-virus program, deleted some malware
- some other things I already forgot
EDIT: Forgot to mention, if I go to the control panel and click on "Taskbar and start menu" nothing happens, it doesn't open any window. Also, if I set a background and reboot the pc again, the background will be gone.
I just bought a new HP laptop. They've included some items in the task bar for Windows Live and HP Utilities. I've selected unpin, but the tiled/group items are still there. I individually selected and clicked the x to delete and the they were removed, but the group icon is still present and I can't get ride of it
