A year ago I bought a new computer and had Windows 7 Ultimate loaded onto it and I have had problems ever since. The computer is an Hewlett-Packard that I bought from a local shop and it originally had Vista on it but I wanted Windows 7 so the shop took Vista off and loaded Windows 7 onto it and while I do like Windows 7 the relationship has not been a smooth one.Windows Media Player has never worked at all for me. The program skips when I try to play my MP3's or the sound drops out at random times and I have never been able to get the program to ever play a DVD. I have posted here several times and have gotten great suggestions but nothing I do will get it to work. Also, Internet Explorer 9 has never worked. When I start it the program hangs and freezes as if it has a mind of its own and it is really frustrating. Once again I have posted here about the problems and have gotten good suggestions but nothing I try helps at all. I like the speed, ease of use, features and just about everything else about Windows 7 but these bumps in the road are driving me nuts. I am using Firefox as my Internet Browser and until yesterday I was using VLC Media Player for my MP3's and DVD's but this new release of VLC has so many bugs in it I can't use it anymore.
I know it's not the best laptop but for the most part it does what i need. my only problem is when playing large HD movies in MKV format it's constant lagging and skipping. I have tried VLC and it's unwatchable. here is what i have
ASUS AMD QUAD-CORE A6-3400M RADEON HD 7620G2 1GB 8 GB DDR3
I usually like to get the largest file as it will make for a better pic. the smaller more compressed files aren't an issue. player the larger files?
I have a mounted .iso image file using DVDFab.I am able to play the file by going to my computer then right clicking on the mounted drive & choosing media player from the autoplay popup window to play it.But I want to use powerdvd to read the file and I am unable to do so because it doesn't recognize the image folder as a source. Is there a way I could add the cyberlink powerdvd to the autorun popup window where we can find listed windows media player, media player classic etc... I don't need to go to "view more autoplay options" and choose powerdvd inside, this is not helping in any way?
I use whs (both 2003 and 2011) to backup my Windows 7 media server, have several cablecard tuners, but if I ever need to restore (from earlier version) or even re-format this computer, recorded programs will not play again (cannot play recordings from another computer is the message). Any way of save/restore the current drm info before I restore from earlier version or even re-format????? Screen capture programs are crap.
I was trying to duel boot Windows 7 and XP but when the XP installation rebooted I got this message: "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>system32 toskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of the above file.
Now, I tried to boot into my windows install disc and it just goes to the same error. So I am unable to boot from my hard drive and my dvd drive.
My specs:
Acer Aspire One AOD255-2256 Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz. 1GB DDR2 Ram 160gb Sata HDD
DVD drive is a Memorex 20x DVD+R USB 2.0 External Drive
Well after i installed windows 7 i noticed that when i play music on any program even pandora the music skips and freezes constantly. I was wondering if it could be that my sound card or something else.
i used to have vista on this computer and didn't have audio problems. i've upgraded to windows 7 and use the latest drivers available for my sound card (striker 7.1). i have also tried not using these drivers and instead using a usb sound card (sennheiser that comes with one of their headsets).
my problem is that, some time after booting up my computer, the audio starts skipping/glitching every ~30 seconds (if not more). this will usually happen with almost 100% frequency after the computer goes into sleep mode. a reboot fixes this for some time and then it starts over. this happens with all audio sources (moves in vlc, music in itunes, Internet, etc.)
when the windows logo appears it makes a design and then says windows, but right before your desktop or username pops up it does a little skip. i can't explain it, but near the symbol it looks like it has a little blue line. Anyone know what im talking about. maybe u have to just look closely. its like a stutter, but its very minimal. Im assuming my 7 is installed correctly everythin works fine all my updates updated and everything im just wondering why it does that. is that part of the intro?
Windows 7 64bit i7 asus p8p67 ws revb note:using on board sound 2x580 sli 2xCorsair Force GT in raid 0
has the latest drivers and bios.
I noticed that my sound was skipping one day.Did what most would do check setting, reset comp. Then reinstalled drivers/window updates, nothing worked. But then I noticed it only would skip when I would open a a web browser page, with firefox.I use vlc for media player?
running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit here. I don't know if this is due to my wifi adapter or the connection or what. I use a wireless connection here, provided by the place we live, the signal is very weak on my desktop. At times when connect to it, it doesn't even load a webpage, but what happens is my mouse skips across the screen, buzzing comes outta my speakers just as the mouse skips, it's like having interference somehow and I just don't get how connecting to the wifi does this, the wifi is really weak, I don't even know why I can't connect, I mean the signal is there, I can connect, but it doesn't load a webpage.
Any time I start an application that requires a moderate amount of processing, the whole computer skips. By skips, I mean the audio glitches and makes an annoying sound, the video freezes for a fraction of a second before catching up, etc. I was working on a video editing project last night, for instance, and this problem got really bad then. Now it happens whenever I try to play music through iTunes, or even a video online. So far, I have tried updating video card drivers, checking for updated chipset drivers, checking for possible overheating - nothing has helped. The Computer: I just bought the base components for this computer and received them in the mail less than a week ago. I put it together one night last week, and I noticed this issue as soon as I imported my music and got some working speakers attached. (It's much more noticeable with audio) [code]
I'm having such a huge problem right now. I don't know what to do... I'm using windows 7 64 bit and when i play my games the game would litterally skip... kind of like having frame skip on the highest then playing a game.. Also, windows media player would either do one of the following:1. video skips and no audio plays2. Server execution failed3. The video will play for like 5 seconds then says it cant play the file..Also when i try to run the windows experience index it will get the video decoding and it will say that it can't complete it for some reason. I've tried reinstalling windows and it just kept happeningI've tried doing everything to repair WMP and then it would work until i reboot again. even when i dont repair it i have to reboot then it would be fine.
my computer Blue Screens about once every 24 hours or so, so it's not that bad yet, but it often happens when I'm not doing anything at the computer. It was only three times so far, but I figure that's more than enough to get help with it, so it doesn't keep happening.
I use sky player online, and anybody who has used it before will know that it registers your pc as the main registered computer and you can change this once a month.
Anyway, everytime I log on to sky player, it is recognising my pc as a different pc, for example first time I log on it'll recognise my pc as PC1 then the next time it will be PC2 etc, meaning that within 2 log ins I've reached the maximum changes per month and can no longer use sky player.
It seems to be a setting with pc somewhere rather than sky player as its the same when I log on to my alliance-leicester internet banking. The log on uses a username and password as standard but also asks an additional security question when it recognises you've logged on from a new unfamiliar pc, but its asking me this security question everytime I log on meaning its not recognising my pc as being the same as I used the last time.
I have 02 broadband, windows 7 32bit and am using a netgear router.
I don't know why but, everytime i logging off,the windows always start update and some of my file in my computer got corrupt here are the example: i previously installed an Alienware theme and patched my computer,so the theme can work fine: im using Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
I thought it was my video card but then i swapped it out and it is still doing it. it used to be random but now it seems to do it randomly and when installing new programs and also at 10% install on the new wow exp beta it is at 10% on the dot every time.
Okay so lately I've noticed that my PC isn't displaying the BIOS splash screen anymore and skips straight to the Windows login screen. It didn't really bother me until today when I wanted to boot into Ubuntu and I couldn't select which OS I wanted to use.I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the BIOS itself since I unplugged all the peripherals except the speakers, removed all the RAM and the BIOS did beep repeatedly. And given enough time, I can boot into windows (and only windows ).Apparently people have had this problem before and all the solutions I've read such as "Press 'del' to go into your BIOS!" really doesn't help since I can't see anything in my BIOS menu. The only solution that made sense to me was that my CMOS battery could be dying. I haven't changed my rig since I built it in 2009. The only significant event that happened recently might be that Windows updated itself.
-PC doesn't display BIOS splash screen -Can't see messages displayed by system -When windows does bootup, everything runs just fine -Haven't changed rig for ~3 years
how can I play a video in jet audio (or any other media program) on one monitor while I play a fullscreen game on the other. I can get it to work with streams off of website like own3d.tv and twitch.tv, and I can even run the streams in full screen. However when I try to run a movie through jet audio or even just play music through zune player, they freeze up. The audio will still come through, but either the picture is frozen in place or the zune player seems to get frozen.
I have an external USB HDD that I want to be able to move between computers. Problem is everytime I move and try to open a folder on the next computer I get the permission error and must take ownership of it with the new computer.I want to be able to switch the drive between the computers without having to take ownership everytime.Im assuming there has been some kind of error or should it be like this? Is it possible to fix it without having to format it?
I have ADSL connection, i use WiFi enable adsl router (ZTE ZXV10 W300) for share that connection internet connection with my home other devices. My ADSL internet connection not disconnect but my WiFi connection drop most of the time.
I play World of Warcraft, and whenever i want to capture my screen in-game i hit the "PrtScr" button on my keyboard, "Screen Captured" pops up in-game, but when i open up paint and paste it, it just pastes my Desktop everytime. Is there a way to fix this?
Weird one guys. When I start up WIndows 7 - 64b, my machine locks up during startup. I have narrowed it down to my PCI-e USB card. When I unplug the card, all is well. When I reinstall it, it freezes every time. My question is how do I correct it? I really need the card to increase the number of usb slots on my system.
My browser of choice is Firefox. The new version crashes every time I open it. I am a Windows 7 Professional user. I see a message BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48 Locale ID 1033 when Windows repairs so it can open Windows. I see a crash message before that which says to disable Cache and/or Shadowing. I've tried disabling Cache (internal and external) in BIOS. That did not help. I really don't want to have to begin using IE or Google Chrome or Bing. Can anyone suggest a fix for Firefox on Windows 7?
