Well after i installed windows 7 i noticed that when i play music on any program even pandora the music skips and freezes constantly. I was wondering if it could be that my sound card or something else.
View 2 Repliesrunning Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit here. I don't know if this is due to my wifi adapter or the connection or what. I use a wireless connection here, provided by the place we live, the signal is very weak on my desktop. At times when connect to it, it doesn't even load a webpage, but what happens is my mouse skips across the screen, buzzing comes outta my speakers just as the mouse skips, it's like having interference somehow and I just don't get how connecting to the wifi does this, the wifi is really weak, I don't even know why I can't connect, I mean the signal is there, I can connect, but it doesn't load a webpage.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI downloaded win 7 4 days ago, for now it's working fine but having problems with my music files, I did a back up of my files, have restored all my files but when I try to do the music files it freezes I noticed that my processor dual core 2 runs at 100%, when I cancel the operation processor goes down to about 2to 5%, this happens also when I open window media player, I just downloaded Itunes that I use for my Ipod, I try to open Itunes and nothing happens, any advise on what could be the problem??

Now after 30 mins of switching the PC on the pc freezes but the music from winamp keeps playing and the mouse is able to move. Only option is to do a hard reset of the machine. Could this be a hard drive fault?

My laptop runs fine when I play games, or browse, as long as i don't watch videos or listen to music, it doesn't mind if online or from my drive. Tried different software but no luck. I would think it's hardware, but i don't have this problem on linux.I ran windows 8 for a few days, didn't see the freezing there, but I don't like the OS.I think the problem is with the audio drivers or something, I tried old and new ones, but no result.I am running Windows 7 ultimate 32bit (64 doesn't help either). My laptop is Acer Extensa 5635zg. I attach the Windows_NT6_BSOD_jcgriff2 report+ the everest report inside the zip, where you can find the hardware information about my laptop.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen listening to music on my PC, it does not matter if I use Winamp, Songbird, Quicktime, Windows Media Player, or any other software. Every so often, there appears some sort of distortion, like the drive that the music is on slows down. I dont know if it is the driver or what. Its hard to explain. You have to hear it. I dont think its the mp3 file itself, cause I could play a song and it will be perfect, but then the next time I play it, it will distort. It is really driving my nuts cause I can't find the reason for it.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI was trying to duel boot Windows 7 and XP but when the XP installation rebooted I got this message: "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: <Windows root>system32 toskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of the above file.
Now, I tried to boot into my windows install disc and it just goes to the same error. So I am unable to boot from my hard drive and my dvd drive.
My specs:
Acer Aspire One AOD255-2256
Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz.
1GB DDR2 Ram
160gb Sata HDD
DVD drive is a Memorex 20x DVD+R USB 2.0 External Drive
i used to have vista on this computer and didn't have audio problems. i've upgraded to windows 7 and use the latest drivers available for my sound card (striker 7.1). i have also tried not using these drivers and instead using a usb sound card (sennheiser that comes with one of their headsets).
my problem is that, some time after booting up my computer, the audio starts skipping/glitching every ~30 seconds (if not more). this will usually happen with almost 100% frequency after the computer goes into sleep mode. a reboot fixes this for some time and then it starts over. this happens with all audio sources (moves in vlc, music in itunes, Internet, etc.)
A year ago I bought a new computer and had Windows 7 Ultimate loaded onto it and I have had problems ever since. The computer is an Hewlett-Packard that I bought from a local shop and it originally had Vista on it but I wanted Windows 7 so the shop took Vista off and loaded Windows 7 onto it and while I do like Windows 7 the relationship has not been a smooth one.Windows Media Player has never worked at all for me. The program skips when I try to play my MP3's or the sound drops out at random times and I have never been able to get the program to ever play a DVD. I have posted here several times and have gotten great suggestions but nothing I do will get it to work. Also, Internet Explorer 9 has never worked. When I start it the program hangs and freezes as if it has a mind of its own and it is really frustrating. Once again I have posted here about the problems and have gotten good suggestions but nothing I try helps at all. I like the speed, ease of use, features and just about everything else about Windows 7 but these bumps in the road are driving me nuts. I am using Firefox as my Internet Browser and until yesterday I was using VLC Media Player for my MP3's and DVD's but this new release of VLC has so many bugs in it I can't use it anymore.

Anyone know what im talking about. maybe u have to just look closely. its like a stutter, but its very minimal. By skips, I mean the audio glitches and makes an annoying sound, the video freezes for a fraction of a second before catching up, etc. I was working on a video editing project last night, for instance, and this problem got really bad then. Now it happens whenever I try to play music through iTunes, or even a video online. So far, I have tried updating video card drivers, checking for updated chipset drivers, checking for possible overheating - nothing has helped. The Computer: I just bought the base components for this computer and received them in the mail less than a week ago. I'm using windows 7 64 bit and when i play my games the game would litterally skip... kind of like having frame skip on the highest then playing a game.. Also, windows media player would either do one of the following:1. video skips and no audio plays2. Server execution failed3. The video will play for like 5 seconds then says it cant play the file..Also when i try to run the windows experience index it will get the video decoding and it will say that it can't complete it for some reason. I've tried reinstalling windows and it just kept happeningI've tried doing everything to repair WMP and then it would work until i reboot again. even when i dont repair it i have to reboot then it would be fine.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using a third party music player, MusicBee, to play my music, however if I select a folder in windows explorer of an artist that has more than one album in sub folders under the artist name then the "PLAY ALL" button does nothing.
If I select a folder without sub folders inside the PLAY button works fine and open MusicBee to play the music.
I also have VLC installed and if I right click on any music folder I get the Play with VLC option, how can I add this same option for MusicBee.
Okay so lately I've noticed that my PC isn't displaying the BIOS splash screen anymore and skips straight to the Windows login screen.It didn't really bother me until today when I wanted to boot into Ubuntu and I couldn't select which OS I wanted to use.I'm pretty sure the problem isn't the BIOS itself since I unplugged all the peripherals except the speakers, removed all the RAM and the BIOS did beep repeatedly. And given enough time, I can boot into windows (and only windows ).Apparently people have had this problem before and all the solutions I've read such as "Press 'del' to go into your BIOS!" really doesn't help since I can't see anything in my BIOS menu.The only solution that made sense to me was that my CMOS battery could be dying. I haven't changed my rig since I built it in 2009. The only significant event that happened recently might be that Windows updated itself.

I turned my ps3 on for the first time in a good month or more tonight, planning to stream music and just have a relaxing night, but lo and behold its not working for me. I can see all my music, I can see my playlists as folders, but when i try to go into these folders, it cant find music in those playlists.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi have random freezes sometimes they are glitchy and rarely bsod all on bootup or up to about half hour in (which also turns of the mouse). also Internet doesn't autoplay playlists and all sugestions next to the video are black. this started a few weeks to a month ago, first it seemed just a minor annoyance but it started to become more often the last few days. i've tried some checks but without success.
also i remember the week before those crashes that twice the screen driver crashed for a second or 2 and then a message popped up about how a monitor driver crash was adjusted, always when i played a certain game that is still in beta so i taught it was the game.

From a lynda.com training video about using iTunes, I learned that there is a folder called "Automatically Add to iTunes", which is monitored by iTunes for new files to import into the iTunes library. However, I would like to know if this is the best way to do this. For example, can I just *move* my 3,000 music files into this 'Automatically Add to iTunes' folder and then let iTunes do its thing?* ill iTunes *move*the files that it is able to manage*OUT*of this folder and into one of its managed folders, such that there would be no duplicate file left behind? Is it correct in saying that the files that are left in this folder that were not able to be handled by iTunes and must be handled differently before they can be imported into iTunes. Or is there just an all around different, and better, way to get these music files into iTunes?
The other question I have involves 'restoring' a previous iTunes library that was backed up to disc (CD or DVD). I have a couple of these and want to _merge_ them with my existing (current) iTunes files, but in a way that I don't have 2 folders for some artists and double tracks, etc. How can I *best* import these iTunes library back ups into my latest iTunes installation.Last is a question which is about ripping my audio CDs into iTunes. I have 2 optical drives on my computer, and I would like to know which one will be most efficient at ripping audio CDs into iTunes. Is there someway to test the read / error correct speed of both drives to get an idea of which one is going to be faster?

My problem is that with any video, music,instructional or otherwise, it will play for only a few seconds, stop then start again after approx. a minute or so. This keeps repeating and makes watching any videos impossible. I first noticed it on You Tube, but now it is on any videos anywhere. I tried to preview a musical greeting card to send to a friend, and the audio on that did the same thing.
