View 1 RepliesI have Windows 7 Professional 64Bit installed on a 250GB internal hard drive. I also have a 750 GB secondary drive installed in the system. When I connect an external hard drive to the computer and try to transfer some files (in this case a Windows 7 SDK DVD iso), the external hard drive self ejects and the transfer gets interrupted. The very next second the hard drive comes back on. I have made sure that it is not the external hard drive at fault as the same issue occurs with my flash drive and also my friend's external hard drive (with different files.) I usually did not care and retry it, but recently I have been loosing files when the hard drive ejects itself and it has started to get annoying. Sometimes the file just dose not transfer no matter how many times I try. All that happens is the hard drive gets disconnected and connected again till I just let it be.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am running Windows 7, and I connect several external HDDs via a USB hub, leading to the PC on a single USB cable. I have recently installed Windows, and from the start, I have had problems ejecting the media. Here is how it goes:I plug in the disks, they are all functioning, they show up and can be used.I want to eject them so I can disconnect the cable. I go to the system tray, and must click the "show hidden icons" arrow to see the icon for "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media"; I click it and choose one of the disks to eject. Upon doing so, the disk ejects, and I remove it.At that point, the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" icon moves to the main system ray area (not hidden)--but from this point on, it does not work. No matter how I click or right-click, there is no pop-up menu, no reaction at all. Right-clicking on each drive in the "Computer" window does not reveal any option to eject the disk safely.

More often, it will turn the displays off, but won't ever put the computer to sleep. Why wouldn't the computer go to sleep?Wouldn't any activity turn the displays back on? And so if they don't come back on, why wouldn't it go to sleep?why wouldn't the displays turn off, and then it goes to sleep?
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt all started yesterday, while I was browsing the net my computer suddenly froze and got a bluescreen. When it rebooted everything looked fine during startup except that it froze after a few minutes again. During the freeze I can move the mouse, but I can't open any programs, and any programs that already are open stop working. Can't ctrl+alt+delete or do anything else than reboot the computer by pressing the start-button.
I didn't visit any websites that I haven't visited frequently these past weeks so I don't think I've gotten anything from them. When I start in safe-mode the same thing happens after a few minutes, cant start any new programs, and any programs that already are active stop working.

For the last few days Ive been having problems with my computer. I have been getting the BSOD every 20 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on if I'm using the computer or not. I have done a virus scan, reseated everything, and tested the HD and RAM with no errors found. I am competent with computers but have little experience troubleshooting. The Stop codes that I have been able to record are 0x00000050 and 0x00000101. I have attached 3 mini dumps that hopefully someone can use to help me figure out what is going on.

I keep getting a BSOD that say either Memory Management or Page fault in nonpaged area. Now, I had this problem before, and it was bad ram (16 gb of corsair vengeance) but I replaced it with kingston hyperX and the problem seemed to go away until just recently. Its back and i have no clue what to do, since I replaced my ram and the problem came back. Could it be my motherboard that is somehow ruining my RAM? I have no idea what to do here.

View 6 Replies View RelatedMy comuter normally takes about 2 minutes to boot up. Unfortunately yesterday it just hanged after the first black screen with the windows symbol in the middle and after about 10-15 minutes there was a message that it could not boot and tried to do an automatic repair. The message later said it could not repair the problem automatically and would send an error message on line. It booted up fine into safe mode and I deleted my graphics card driver in case that was the problem. I used a third party programme to run a disk check and now it will eventually boot up into windows after hanging on the same screen for 10 to 15 minutes which is very frustrating - the graphics card driver was automatically loaded after it boot up into Windows with no option of a roll back. I recently upgraded to Windows 7 service pack 1 and also upgraded my ATI Raedon 4300/4500 series Graphics card driver to version to 8.821.0.0 dated 26-1-10.
View 9 Replies View Relatedmy pc right now (2-3 years old) is slow as hell and freezes every few minutes for 1-5 minutes. i just did a clean install 2 weeks ago and it is still like that. i have a 465gb hard drive and 230gb of it is currently free (i am making videos with my friends and we have a gaming channel on Internet what is doing pretty well right now so 150gb is taken away by videos. i delete them right after making them so most of the time the hard drive has 380+ gb free)
also if this matters than i should currently be dual booting my win 7 with ubuntu but 1 day the ubuntu folder from my local disc was deleted (i have no idea how, 1 day it was just gone) and since then it doesnt let me choose to go into ubuntu. is it completely deleted or some parts still remain and is there a way to uninstall/delete those parts.
this is all the information about my computer (i think) i took that from speccy so probably there is alot of information that is useless for you but still.

Just received a new computer. The specs:
Dell 2305 All-in-One
Windows 7 64-bit
8 gb RAM
AMD Athlon II X4 610E processor
Blu-ray combo drive (Optiarc DVDRWBD BC-5504H)
Everything works fine except the time it takes to rip my CD's. Using Windows Media Player or Media Center on my other computer, it takes about 2 minutes. On the new Dell, my computer temporarily freezes after ripping the first track, and then will take at least 20 minutes to complete.under the heading of IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, there are no channels listed. So I can't enable DMA. The only thing listed is "AMD Sata Controller". Is this a problem with the AMD controller drivers? I've installed the latest from the Dell site. Should I uninstall the AMD controller driver and try to install the Windows 7 drivers instead?
i dont know why my internet goes off after few minutes everything working but still ?

I have an HP Pavilion G42-303DX. It's only about 8 months old. About 3 weeks ago after turning it on, a screen came up saying the cooling fan wasn't working and continued use could result in lost files. I went ahead and continued so I could backup files. Later in the day the fan made a funny noise and then started again. Since then it has been working. A few days ago the laptop started freezing randomly during use. The last couple of days it has been freezing every 10-15 minutes or so. I have to hold in the button to turn it off. I don't know if this is due to the fan maybe not properly cooling the laptop. According to HP my warranty has already ran out (I thought they typically lasted a year?). I imagine it would be cheaper at a repair shop than to send to HP if needed. But before I spent any money, I wanted to see if maybe it was a simple fix I could do myself. I ran startup repair and restored it to a previous day. It didn't fix the problem.
View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently after I tried to add another cooling fan into my NZXT phandom case my pc would turn on and freeze. Sometimes before the windows logo even comes on my mouse and keyboard lights would turn off. I have since disconnected the extra cooling fan but the problem did not go away. I have checked my temperatures and they are not very high. My only thought on this problem is that when I also tried to add a 2nd extra fan (which did not fit well with its clamps due to the graphics card being right below the location) onto my north bridge which at some time had a heat problem as all with this motherboard do but was fixed with a cooler. In trying to add the 2nd fan I might have moved the cooler slightly and messed up the thermal paste connection. However I am not completely sure because my temperatures seem normal and are not in the high range. The only problems or hints I can see are the freezing after several minutes after startup, not reaching the windows logo at all, and my mouse and keyboard lights not turning on when the pc does not reach windows logo before being a black screen.

But problem was still same. After that all, my pc just start freezing after a few minutes on desktop and begin autorestarting.I tried to uninstall GPU drivers in Safe Mode, but theres same problem. Also I tried to use "last good known condition" but problem is same.I also used MemTest, 2x pass, no errors, and also no errors in HD Tune..
I have recently been experiencing a BSOD everytime i startup (in normal or safe-mode) around 40-50 minutes after startup. It seems to just shut down every program then go to BSOD while is able to create a dump file but never automatically restart.I've also used spy-bot and Malwarebyte to find any corruptions or viruses and nothing fixed the problem. I've google'd and couldn't find anything to my predicament from other BSOD's. I personally think it's the RAM going bad (this is a built computer by a friend about 8 months ago, top of the line gamer computer, windows 7 ultimate).
