I am running an HT Omega Striker 7.1 sound card, and the in game sound, and built in voice chat of BF works fine. When I try to play any game with Teamspeak or skype running, I lose all in game sound. I have already checked my mixer icon, and I have the communications tab set to do nothing when windows detects communications activity. I am at a loss, and dont know what else to do.
So this problem started yesterday afternoon. I didn't download anything, but suddenly I was unable to browse the web. I tried all the web browsers I have but no websites would load. But skype and teamspeak still work.
So my problem is that when I'm on skype talking all the sound (exept the sound from skype) comes out in the speakers instead of my headphones. When I'm not on skype all the sound comes in my headphones. So what i want is to have all my sound always coming in my headphones.
I'm having problem with my speakers. I recently had call on Skype, during the conversation I plugged in my headphones. After I finished that call, I unplugged headphones and notices that my notebook speakers are muted. Windows shows that it's not muted, devices are enabled and so on. Everything seems to be right, except the silence. Funny thing is, if I open skype options and go to sounds, and try to replay some of the sounds there, it works ... PLUS it also plays music I have turned on in background, as soon as skype sounds ends -> silence again. I've tried to reinstall windows meanstime, didn't work. I was kind of shocked, since if it were HW problem, there would be no skype sounds at all ... if it's a SW problem, fresh Win should have got things on the right place .
I was talking with a friend on teamspeak 3 while playing counter strike and suddenly my game frooze and a bsod appeared. I went to this forum and did everything i've had to do to give you the information you need, I guess. I'm still able to play etc.
I just built a brand new PC this past thursday and ever since then my games like WoW and Left 4 Dead 2 have been getting Stuttering from the sound and game freezes for like 3 seconds then goes back to normal until another random time and happens again. At first i thought it was my graphics card so i swapped it out with my older one that was fine playing the game.I looked on many sites to see if people have had this issue but im having a hard time finding my exact problem. I've updated all of the drivers for everything in my device manager and went to the graphics card site for the newest update just in case windows didnt get the newest.

As the title says, my sound drops whenever I play a game on my PC, so I turn the volume up & 20 mins later it blasts out because the sound has reset or is back to its normal level. This seems to happen is every game, I use a Realtek Onboard HD as my sound but I also went and bought a 7.1 Soundcard (Speedlink Stage 7.1) and it did the same issue, I then installed the Speedlink into my wifes other quad core PC & it is working fine, not a single issue or drop.I have ever asked some tech guys, who said it may be my AV or programs like "Steam" running in the background, but the wife uses "Steam" also with zero effects, we both use the same AV/security (COMODO Internet Security), and again she has no problems.I use Cambridge soundworks 5.1 speakers as does the missus.
Well i was playing a game i think it overheated im not sure cause its like over 100+ and i was playing games. Anyway there was a screen that was a bunch of colors i think mostly purple or pink but whatever. So i shut down my computer and when i turn it on it makes a buzzing noise for like a minute. I cleaned the inside of the computer all the dust out from the fans and all that but it still makes the sound. Also after the buzzing sound it turns off then back on then a light buzzing sound for a bout 4 or 5 mins then i think its gone. Its either that or because i turn on my modem then turn on my computer a second later.(i dont usually do that).
I just got the "No Audio Device is installed" message for the second time, and my Sound, Video, and Game Controller section on my Device Manager pulled a Houdini on me. I can't remember what i did last time to fix it, but I've tried everything that people have suggested on multiple threads concerning this. It was literally working last night as i was listening to music, today when i turned it on it said i had no audio output installed. I have an HP Pavillion dv9500. I upgraded from Vista Home 32-bit to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, but never had a real problem until now. I tried to find the driver on the HP site, but the driver didn't work. I've even tried to restore my computer to a week ago when i got a system update, but it keeps failing. There is also an exclamation mark on the Coprocessor under Other Devices in the device manager.
I am using acer aspire 7220 laptop with Win7 OS. I found a red cross near my volume icon and I see "No audion output installed" message. Also, When I checked in my device manager there is no sound, video and game controller. I see only three devices which are marked with yellow symbo. I have looke several forums regarding this issue but none solved the problem
i recently installed windows 7 ultimate 32bit on my laptop and i love it to bits, but theres just one fallback thats making me want to change back to XP, and that is the sound problem, what the problem is that, when im playing counter Strike 1.6 online, and a grenade goes of, or lots of gun fire, the game jerks and twitches, and low FPS drop and ping spikes and allsorts of rubish

the first thing i did was disable that MMCSS thing in regedit.. then i read up some more on here, and found its best to leave that enabled and stop the other thing that helps online gaming.. that worked worked fine.. that stopped the high lag i was having.. but now im getting this annoying sound problem.. if i disable my sound card in device maneger..
the game runs smoooooth as a babys bottom, if i enable it.. i get this glichy/fps drop/lag/spikes and so on, i uninstalled it, reinstalled it, worked fine for 5 mins, then stated again, does anyone have any solution to this, becos if i cant get this fixed, then ill be going back to XP... im a big gamer when it comes to CS and i need it to run smooth, and atm, its just a nightmare when trying to aim.
Yesterday, I bought a 10m HDMI cable and I plug it from my TV to my CPU. Everything was fine. The only thing was one of the games which requires Port COM1 and COM2 could not access.
I tried disabling the HDMI sound and it worked. Is there any way to change the COM port for the HDMI sound? I tried going settings on Windows and could not find any.
I just need the sound because it's a music game, from the Arcade. Everything was perfect before plugging my computer to the HDMI.

Getting distorted (cracking/popping) sound and poor FPS/screen tear after switching application from a full screen game via the taskbar and via alt tabbing. The only way to rectify the issue is by restarting the PC as reloading the game will semi fix the sound issue, but limits my FPS to 30 and will cause the sound to slowly deteriorate to how it was before.
It mainly happens when I have a full screen program while watching a Stream/Video on my second monitor and I switch program through the aero feature in the taskbar/alt tab pop up. Sound goes to shit, then the frame loss kicks in a second later.
I assumed it was an issue to do with the aero application preview feature, but I'm not 100% sure. I've disabled it by using the classic theme which I've been using for the past 2 days and things seem to be alright.
i have tryed to log in to skype to day but all it does is log in for ages then come up with an error "skype can't connect" i have tried everything to fix it but nothing works. i have uninstalled it, restarted PC, restarted modem. i can connect to everything else but skype and it was working earlier today.

Per-BSOD Posting Instructions, attachments have been linked to the post with relevant sys information. Also I have a large MEMORY DUMP file that wasn't able to be attached due to its size. Able to provide on request. The other day I spilled a cup of tea on my computer. Ended up having to take it all apart and clean each component.
When I install a game in Windows 7 and Windows recognizes it it dumps the game's shortcut in the Game folder of the Start Menu. That wouldn't be a problem except Windows 7 prevents the game from creating the shortcuts it would have created had the operating system not been Windows 7- things like the game's Read Me, Uninstaller & Configuration options.
I've been on skype the last 3 days and have had several crashes in those days. Most of the time the crashes have been error code 50. I have run MemTest 3 passes and windows memory diagnostic and no problems have been returned.
i've noticed that when i have utorrent working, because of the constant upload etc. , the pc doesn't go to standby. What i mean by standby is that the pc doesnt do anything, the light in the front is filickering slowly, and the internet connection is off. When i move the mouse, the pc springs to life , followed by the internet connection , and in a few seconds i'm connected to the internet. Needless to say, i believe u understand the flaw with this - skype gets disconnected even though i want it to remain on, and i'm guessing the same would happen with facebook. As much as power saving is indeed, important i want my computer to not go into this mode , at least not while there is a program that requires internet or even chat websites.
Just want to ask if someone can help me sign in to skype. The following message always appears "Cant open skype. you are already signed in in this computer. Please sign out and try again." I already uninstall and installed new skype and the same message recurs.
Been trying to update to Skype 5.1 from 5.0. Here is what I have been through.
1.Downloaded the Skype Setup file .98 mb and ran that. Got a fatal error 1603 proceeded by error 1663. Spent a day trying to learn about that. Did not find a solution.
2. Found out that I could download a larger file "Skype SetupFull 20.1 mb. That did not work either.
3. Went to the Skype Community Forum. Would not except my email because another member was using it. Well, duh, that's me signed into my Skype account. Signed out of that account and still could not get into the forum.
5. In the meantime I restored the computer didn't fix the problems. Then I recovered an image that was made on Feb. 4. That did not help so went back to last nights image.
6. A member of Windows 7 Forum suggested the I run SPC SCANNOW and if that did not help to do a "repair install" of W7. The scan did not help. Still got the 1663 error and could not get into the Skype forum.
7. I then did a "repair install" of W7. Took ownership of the following folders all on C drive. Users, Windows, Programfiles and ProgramData.
8. Now when I run SkypeSetupFull 20.1 mb I get a box that say's "Cannot write the installation package to the disk. Be sure I have enough room on the disk".. Well, I have twice the space required. I suspect it has to do with security.
I have downloaded the latest version of skype onto two laptops. Both laptops show the picture on the video cam upside down. I see there are many posts about this but have not been able to find the answer. I have windows 7 32 bit. I have skype version 5.1.0.112.
I got a new netbook today (Acer) which is on the windows 7 starter operating system and everything else works great except ive been trying to install skype all night and the installation will only go to around 30% and then go back to 0%.. I've tried this over and over again now and getting frustrated. Im not getting any error code just goes back to 0% each time.
I just replaced MSN messenger with Skype since MS is discontinuing it soon.
