If I have both my monitors enabled and try to start a game such as CS:S or TF2, it puts it into an infinite loading screen and I can never get to the main menu. The only way to fix this is to play in windowed mode or disable the second monitor. Has any body heard of a fix for this?
Since last weeks I've had multiple BSOD's and it seems to happen mostly while I play games through steam. Games like GTA4, The witcher 2 and Sleeping dogs cause the crashes while I for some reason can play Shogun Total war 2 for hours without problems. Games that are not connected to steam, like Battlefield 3, seems to work good as well. I don't have any cd/dvd tools like Daemon tools installed.
I've been having quite a few blue screens lately after installing and playing a few games I bought off the Summer Sale not too long ago, and they seem to be jumping all over the place as to what the issue really is. It was mainly when I would play the game "Saint's Row the Third", which would result in a random BSOD between a few minutes to an hour or so of play, if the game itself didn't crash first for some reason, but I just recently installed TF2 for the first time on this new machine of mine and I've gotten several BSOD a day now as a result. Like... Now I get about 3+ crashes a day, and almost always guaranteed a crash whenever I try to run that game, compared to before where it was isolated to SR3 or the occasional one here or there.I got a message about a .sys file related to Avast! Anti-Virus trying to access memory after it was freed in a BSOD message earlier on, and it improved my stability quite a bit after I uninstalled the whole progam, but I've had a few more crashes since I wiped that out earlier today.
I got this pc a few months ago. I have been able to play blizzard games (WoW and Diablo) fine but whenever I try to play a game I have downloaded from steam (total war shogun 2 and Borderlands 2) I get a BSOD code 101
I keep getting BSODs while using my computer.I'm not familiar with software and OS interfaces,I have an HP laptop dv7-1451nr.I have windows 7 ultimate x64. My laptop is around 3-3.5 years old now and I recently reformatted with the windows 7 ultimate OS. My friend look at the hardware for me and we found one RAM stick was bad and took it out so now I'm down to 2GB of RAM. The BSODs seem to happen mainly while I'm either trying to play a game, while those are the most consistent I sometimes get random BSODs doing what I can do right now on this computer.
I've been having issues with a computer I've built recently. Whenever I play games like WoW, Killing Floor, and now Diablo 3... I'll be able to play for awhile, but maybe after 30min to an Hour my computer will just crash. Black Screen on monitors, sounds coming from speakers (no music continues normally. It's more like the last sound going "ErerrrrrrRGghhhhh" lol). No blue screens or anything. Now... I originally thought it could be a GPU issue. But i've already RMA'ed one card, and gotten a new one. This one has run pretty well so far. But I don't know. I'd feel awkward RMAing another card.I've performed Stress tests on both my CPU and RAM for at least 4hours on each with no errors coming up for either.SO I am kind of stumped. I was reading "BSOD while playing games" and thought my issue was a bit similar.I went through the steps that writhziden had posted in that thread. Disk Check - I had no errors on any of my drives. SFC - I had ran that before a few times. And finally the Verifier, which caused my system to crash in regular start-up. But it was fine in safe mode.
Windows 7 . . . - 64 Bit Ultimate OEM - i5 2500k -CPU - ASUS P8z68-V/hen3 -Motherboard - Radeon HD 7870 -GPU - Corsair Professional 850w PSU
Computer is about 2months old now. I sunk a lot of money into it... I just want the darn thing to work properly.
my computer is recently crashing, I recently had some work done to it hardware wise and they had to do a fresh Windows 7 install because of all the hardware changes that Vista couldn't handle. They said if you do a lot of hardware changes, especially the motherboard you'd have to do a fresh install of Vista, and I said just do Windows 7. So a month it was working wonderfully on extensive games and recently maybe within this week my computer would randomly when loading games crash to the motherboard splash screen. Then when my computer starts up I see an AMD popup, and a Windows has recovered from an unexpected crash.
A while ago my USB ports came detached, and a few days ago my last one finally broke off. I called Dell Tech Support asking for a number, and the person on the phone insisted on using remote access to uninstall/reinstall/install drivers for me, despite the fact that the USB drive itself was rattling around insidehey then sent someone out to replace the motherboard. After the MB was replaced, I immediately plugged in my brand new 2TB external hard drive, and copied all of my .iso game files. After that I started getting random shut downs with no warning, no freezing, and no blue screen. I would be using my computer, and all of a sudden it would be turned off. At the time, I'm pretty sure I was playing Sid Meiers Civ 5.
I called Dell back, and they said they would send someone out to replace the motherboard again. I called on Thursday, May 3rd, about an hour after the guy who replaced my MB for the first time left my house. Later that night, my computer started freezing up, with audio stuck on repeat in a half second loop or so, and I would have to shut it down manually. Then it started BSODing.Today (May 8th) they replaced my MB, Heat Sink, and Fan. This time I was able to play Civ 5 for about 10 minutes before it blue screened. I then transferred the .iso file to my computer instead of my external, and I was able to play for perhaps an hour, hour and a half before it blue screened.
Just installed Windows 7. and everytime i start up a game (like left 4 dead)
all screens go black(like when they do when you set a other resolution) and back to normal resolution. when game resolution isn't different from the desktop resolution. and cause i ussually have a series running on one of my other monitors i can't see them cause well desktop thinks it not on its desktop resolution(or for what ever other reason it is that video won't show on second monitor if there is a game up on your main monitor that is not on ur normal desktop resolution).
this doesn't happen with every game though and can't really figure it out. if u need any info, or have no idea what i'm talking about(don't really know how to explain this very wel) post for more details.
Recently I've been experiencing some issues with random crashes only with steam games. I've run furtest and passed. Downloaded SpeedFan and everything is nice and cool. All my drivers are up to date and my OS has installed all updates. I've also run multiple antivirus and malware to make sure I'm not infected.
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 925 2.8 GHz (OC to 3.03) RAM: G. Skill Ripjaws 8GB(2x4) 240 pin DDR3 1600 (12800) - (clocked at 1440) MB: Asus M4A89TD- Pro/USB GPU: ATI Radeon HD 5770 (OC) HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0 32MB cache PSU: PC Power and Cooling Silencer Mk II 950W
I have no discs to burn memtest to, so is there any alternative? Also, these crashes have been happening since before OC.I opened up Event Viewer and found an error code under -Applications, labled: Source- WMI: Event ID- 10 "Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected."I would figure that if my GPU could pass furtest on the fullest test without it shutting down then my PSU is handling the load. Also I don't believe that 950W is too little for what I'm running.
When trying to install the sims 3 and gta 4 from DVD I get a crc error appear. I have tried making iso's of them and installing from that but same problem also I have tried installing from another copy but still same problem. I can install games from steam and they work fine.
Today, i have discovered that only certain games in my steam library causes crashes. However, when i google this problem, the only threads i see describe simple game crashes that merely take you back to the desktop. This does not compare to my crashes, which end up being a hard computer freeze, only curable by a click of the reset button on my tower..Note that i play Diablo 3, Battlefield 3, and SWTOR perfectly normal and as far as steam games go i can play the original Counter Strike, Skyrim, and a few other i believe. The only 2 games so far that i have had this same problem with is LOTR War in the North and recently i got the CS/GO beta and that crashes as well. Another characteristic of these crashes is that they occur on startup, As soon as the first image of the startup shows on my screen, I am given that circular ring as a cursor, then a second later it stops revolving and my entire pc is frozen and unresponsive. I tried running steam as an administrator, the only difference was that i had control of the mouse a few moments longer before it froze again, but this time it was an actual cursor.
i own Garrysmod, a steam source-mod. It is a game that grows dynamically as I connect to server's, download addons, and receive mandatory game updates. The game file has exceeded 50Gb before. After getting infected with "Windows 7 Antivirus Pro" and making (I freely admit it, and I REALLY should have known better) a terrible mistake and breaking all .exe's while removing the infection, I was forced to re-install windows. However, for whatever reason (another stupid mistake) I re-installed windows on the wrong hard-drive. So now my C: drive is only 150 Gb, and my backup (both of them) are 1TB.I do not have the space to have garrysmod on my C: drive, which is where steam is installed (Last time I tried installing it somewhere else it would not work.)Now that the background information is done lets move on to what you can help me with!
I have been looking for a way to install garrysmod on another hard-drive without reinstalling steam and trying to get it to work on another hard-drive. I believe I have found one, but I am really a coward when it comes to this sort of thing, (I HATE re-formatting) the solution I have found apparently tells the computer that the directory/file is on C: when it is actually on another hard-drive, but I found it in an old forum thread, and the member that had posted it was banned.
There was a time, back in XP, that one could choose to use different wallpapers on each of the monitors connected to a computer...at least two of them. Is that no longer possible?
I've had multiple BSOD over the past week. It seems most common when I try to play Total War, but it has also happened while I'm on the Internet as well. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit Installed OEM and my laptop is about 1.5 years old.
I've been getting BSODs randomly while playing Arma 2 with the Dayz mod. At first I thought it must be something with the game but I've also gotten BSODs playing Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad but I've also played other games like Portal 2 without problems. Thinking it might be driver related I did a fresh install of windows but to no avail.Half the time the game will crash randomly anywhere from 10 minutes of play to 4 hours giving a 0x000005 exception code. The other half of the time my computer will hang and BSOD giving me a different bccode almost every time. The most recent is 10007e and the only other one I remember is d1 which is one of the few that I've gotten multiple times. The Windows Desktop Manager has also crashed twice but I'm not sure it that is related. It was custom built a year ago and was problem free until about a month ago when the BSODs start. They stopped for a while but started again about a week or two ago.
First post here, I did a search and did not find any specific answer to my problem. Firstly I am running Win 7 Ultimate with an Nvidia 8600 GT video card running HDMI through the SPDIF output to the graphics card.
My problem is getting my pc to duplicate to my HDTV when I hit the windows+p shortcut and select the duplicate option everything goes OK and I get pics on both monitors. The problem is that my PC changes resolution and slightly distorts. By distorts I mean circles look like eggs but HDTV is fine.
My monitor is set to 1920x1280. I have the latest drivers installed and have re-installed them twice to be sure. I get them same error using the Nvidia Control panel, when running XP I had no problems at all doing this and running the correct resolution on both outputs.
The other problem is when using VLC I get audio out to the HDTV no problem but when I try and use Windows Media center or player I get no sound at all.
The issue is, that multiple games, such as Total War Shogun, Darksiders 2, Assasins Creed Revelations, Sleeping dogs, simply refuse to launch. I click on their respective icons, and absolutely nothing happens. For some of them the mouse turns into a circle for a couple of seconds, and that's it.Other games, like League of Legends, The Witcher 2, Civ 5, and Dota 2 don't have this issue. It's just a major bummer because I spent a lot of money on these games hoping that they would work on this newly acquired pc.
> Operating System : Windows 7 Ultimate Professional Media Center 6.01.7600 (64-bit)
> DirectX : Version 11.00
> Windows Performance Index : 1.0 on 7.9
I had initially installed windows x84 on it, and as I upgraded to x64, nothing changed.I have updated all of my drivers (I'm not exactly sure if I updated my sound card, since I can't really find it) using Driver Reviver, as well as the respective sites of the major components (such as my motherboard and my graphics card), but again, no changes.I have turned off UAC.I have attempted to run all of them as the administrator and with different compatibility settings (ranging from all the xp service packs to the vista service packs) I have reinstalled the games multiple times. My computer runs The Witcher just fine on high settings, I don't think my computer is too weak to run the games.
so we have this database app that someone has open full screen. you can click on a link and drag a file right to the desktop. problem is, she has the app open on the primary windows ( the one with the star menu) and the file does not "land" where it is dropped on 2nd screen, but where the next icon would go on primary display. have tried with align to grid, and auto arrange on and off. is there a setting somewhere else to set this?
It seems like a few programs, such as Adobe Photoshop CS4 and Adobe Dreamweaver CS4 (seems to be limited to Adobe), expand past my main monitor, and reach the monitors to the left and right.
This happens when the programs are maximized.
I've included two screenshots of this issue. Notice the additional black border around the main screen (middle one).
I have a suspicion this isn't even remotely possible.but I'm interested in this concept, so I'd love enlightenment from the knowledgeable elite that frequent this forum.I'm interested in running multiple monitors, let's say 6, but having a second machine power 3 of them. Now with software like Synergy or Input Director, all you really get is a network-based peripheral seamless sharing effect. What I would like to do is to run a single monitor surface over multiple machines. i.e. it would be like slaving the second machine's graphics cards to power extra displays, but the data for said displays would be fed to the master machine.
i getting random BSOD while playing games , they don't usually happen but sometimes it happens after like 15 minutes of play most of them happen while playing battlefield 3, i included my mem dumb also here's a screen grab from a bsod checker program.
So, everytime I'm in the middle of a game. For example I was playing DayZ and my PC just shuts down. It has been doing this for awhile. It does it on other games like Half-Life 2. I have a pretty powerful computer. It doesn't have this problem when video editing with 720p footage. I've tried the CHSDISK thing (i think thats how you spell it) and it still shuts down randomly during game. I've also tried turning off all the startup programs.
A - My PC shuts down immediately, it doesn't give me a warning or anything. Code: Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2 OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, Service Pack 1, 64 bit
I have had my computer for about over a year now. It has worked absolutely perfect until maybe a month ago. I got my first Blue Screen after playing World of Warcraft for some hours. Installed " BlueScreenView "
