I have cFosSpeed installed and it says that my PC is uploading at 40 kB/s. But I do not know what program is uploading. Is there any software that tells me what processes are uploading and how fast the uploading processes are uploading?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a new laptop with Windows 7. I have thoasands od photos and many home movies stored on USB sticks. Problem is when I plug it in there is no option to select which files I would like to copy. I have looked in the settings and can not find the option, it just copies all which I don't want that.
It also saves them by date and not in the named files I have them in on the key.The same with my camera, I use photos for Ebay and on XP would select the ones I wanted, saved to a file and then could easily adjust them. Now it just wants to copy them all. Also can you suggest a user friendly program for adjusting my photos.
The method used by most to upload screen shots and pictures is saving it in .jpeg/jpg/jpe format and by using the Snipping Tool and the Attachments (paperclip) at the top of the Reply Box.

To start, use the Snipping Tool or whatever screenshot program you prefer and save it as a .jpeg/jpg/jpe.
When you are ready to include a screen shot in your thread/post, click on the paperclip in the reply box, where it will go to the Manage Attachments page.
From there, click on the browse button to open up the File Upload window.
Insert you image and click on The Upload button to the right.
You can also upload the file from a url.
Now, close the Attachment window at the top right.
You can now reclick on your paperclip..
and pick the file to insert into your post.
I need to be able to upload jpeg files to our website and the software package I use for that requires that the filename be entered in lower case in the format "filename.jpg". However, I've recently upgraded from XP to Windows 7 and note that JPG is being added in uppercase after my typed fileneme so that I end up with "filename.jpg.JPG" which is rejected by the uploading software. My web designer tells me that this is attributable to automatic file type recognition in Windows 7, and not to the upload software. How can I switch that off?

The same thing happens when I right click on a picture on the internet and try to save it to my computer. The only changes to my computer was I upgraded the Norton Anti Virus software. That means that every process is actually running a portion of the time on the processor before it is paused and scheduled for later.If that is the case why for example when you play music or video on PC isn't the sound dicontinuous - it should be if it's played just a portion of the time? Or is the period between process switches so small that people don't even notice when it stops and starts again?

I look at the processes in task manager, and order by CPU usage, and the top two or three processes are using 2 or 3%! What gives? So I just noticed that I had 5 explorer.exe processes running before with no windows/browsers open. I could tell my main one apart because it used more memory and the others all had *32 at the end (I'm using an x64 version of Win 7 Home)
I ended them and nothing happened, but then I also checked msconfig under the start-up tab and saw.
I've recently bought a new laptop with a load of program/process that i'd imagine i would never use.Would anyone be willing to tell me which programs i can uninstal (and what they do, if you could) and which processes to disable. Apache needs to run on port 80. I had "thought" i fixed the error when I ended the service "web deployment agent service" (after realizing it runs on port 80), after doing this, apache started up just fine no problems. I restarted my computer, and sure enough, apache wouldn't run again. typing "netstat -aon" in a command prompt, sure enough again, port 80 was occupied by a process with a PID of 4...again. I try ending the process form the task manager, and it will not stop.I have double checked services.msc and web deployment agent service is deactivated and not running. because of this i am perplexed as to what additional services would use port 80 just after a re boot.

View 4 Replies View RelatedNot sure if I'm using proper terminology here, but sometimes I'll close a program and quikcly open it again and the program will be non-responsive. It usually happens when I close a video player to start a new video, or close a browser to open up a fresh collection of tabs (or just to close it because some of the currently open tabs are being buggy) noticed that when I Control-Alt-Delete, the appliactions list is clean, but the program I was running is still listed under "Processes". And sometimes it takes so long to go away I have to force it closed myself. I'm not sure how normal this is, or if it's a sign of an unhealthy computer

Recently when ever I'm playing games or running programs, they suddenly spike up to 100% cpu usage and start lagging very badly.They normally run fine and quite smoothly but then after a while, they suddenly stop working. It usually stops if i leave them alone for some time or if i close the program, but i don't think the application itself has anything to do with it.This happens on many different games and applications alike, but normally only with games, even old ones.I checked my processes and it says i have 61-65 processes running! Isn't this too high? how can i check if those processes are OK? I have HijackThis and can post a log file if needed.
