View 0 RepliesWhen I right-click mouse at (for example) desktop the menu open left of cursor and all the submenus open also to the left. Usually all menus open right unless there is screen edge to prevent that. This problem is in all the programs too, like all menus you could imagine now opens to the left.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy monitor screen shifts to the left side and some thing is hidden but on the right side a black. how can i fix?
View 1 Replies View Relatedall of a sudden pop ups / menus / flyouts (or whatever they're called) are now coming up on the left side of the mouse cursor, not the normal right side.
For example, on the Desktop of you right click on an icon to view properties, the menu is on the left (the top right of the menu is at the cursor point). If you go to a sub-menu, such as 'Send To,' it flies out even further to the left instead of on the right.
Is this maybe some sort of Left Hand/Right Hand setting or the like?
I just purchased a new puter with windows 7. However the left side of the screen is cut off and I can't get to the windows there. How do i change the size or resolution of the home page..?
View 1 Replies View RelatedCurrently when moving the taskbar to the left side, the thinnest you can make it is to have 2 system icons side by side on the bottom. I'm trying to get the taskbar to have show only 1 system icon. I've discovered through trial and error a way to have this happen but it isn't a permanent fix. Here are the steps:1.) Make the taskbar as thin as it will go normally.2.) Lock the taskbar, turn on auto-hide, and turn on small icons3.) Open up a full screen game. I've got a problem that popped up the other night when I decided I wanted to restore my system to a previous time due to a BSOD I received and had a feeling it was due to CCleaner.
Regardless, I'm now unable to see my E: drive, as shown in the screenshot, on the left side of Explorer under Computer. It shows up fine in the main window there but not on the side. I can't even rename it, I had it named previously.
Any ideas?
Any other way I can find and use my webcam? The left side screen does not let me see and go to the menu and options
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't recall any recent change before this issue, but everytime I start my computer, all my icons go to the left side of the screen. I temporarily downloaded a software to reset my icons when I start the computer, but I don't want to keep on having to go through this all the time. I tried the regedit...that didn't work. I tried right clicking the desktop and resetting them there...that doesn't work.
View 6 Replies View Relatedhow the left window reacts when I select a folder.
If I have a long list of folders in the left window and I click on the small arrow to the left of a folder, it is supposed to show the list of sub-folders that are in the selected folder.
It does but here is my problem. Lets say the folder that I select is in the middle of the left window. When I click on the small arrow, Windows Explorer shifts the folder list down so that the selected folder is near the bottom of the window. Generally I can only see one of the sub-folders. And then I have to use the slider to move the selected folder up so I can see more than one sub-folder.
I wish it would leave the folder where it was and show as many sub-folders as possible underneath the selected folder.
When I turn on the screen of my PC I get weird shapes all over the screen. Some of them are coloured, some are grey but they appear on all programmes, including a Word blank page and the desktop page. Some of them flash, some of them change shape, ut they are all pixel shaped within the boxes. There are also some strange 'squiggly' marks on the screen. When I opened Windows mail, the left hand side of the screen was completely black and it didn't show any of my messages. As I'm typing this message, I've got grey boxes which change shape as I type and it's covering some of the text.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I click on drop down menu they won't stay open. Could this be something wrong with my mouse?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a weird problem on my PC in that on many (but not all) drop-down menus, when I click the arrow to drop a menu it drops but then immediately closes again before I can even get my mouse moving into the options available - and this happens repeatedly. I may be able to get it to open once in every five or six attempts if I am lucky. This is mainly on dialogue boxes where most drop-down menus are found although not all. For example Word dialogues I have no problems at all.
I've done some searching around and found details of the MS System File Checker and done a scan. This seemingly found corrupt files and repaired them AND produced a 12.5MB log file. However, I still have the problem.
More searching found it could be due to multiple mice found in Device Manager (DM). Looking in my DM I found six entries under Human Interface Devices labelled "HID-compliant device" with no explanation of what they relate to. As far as I am aware I should not expect to find any more two at most, these being a mouse (Logitech optical mouse) and a Wacom Bamboo tablet. I uninstalled the tablet leaving just the mouse and rebooted but I still have five such entries. I also have two unexplained entries under "Mice and other pointing devices" labelled "USB Input Device" - a third such entry is labelled "USB Input Device (Logitech Download Assistant)"
Whilst my tablet was uninstalled and indeed disconnected, I did some further checks using just the mouse. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to make any difference - I still cannot guarantee that a drop-down box will remain open. However, I have noticed that it does not seem to affect the drive drop-down. Only the filename and file type drop-downs - at least in saving and opening dialogues but I'm sure I've had other drop-down menu types where this has also happened.
My first question therefore is: is it safe to remove the excess HID device entries in my DM and do I have to boot into Safe Mode to do it?
PS I should add that my mouse has a switch on it enabling me to switch it off when not in use. It is therefore switched off most of the time. Also, prior to reinstalling Windows 7 on 12 October I didn't have this problem and I had exactly the same system hardware config and the same software installed.
why won't cursor hover open submenus as in Start menu

"The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail." First of all, I've gotten this on at least 3 different programs. Everyone who's written about this seems to think it's related to their specific program...it's not! Secondly, what I find here in the forum on the subject tells me there has been no solution...also am unable to find any on the 'net'. I think it acts like a virus and is spreading...What's up with this??? Does anyone know...? It has kept me from opening iTunes so I can't work with my iPad anymore. Certainly there must be someone knowledgeable enough to know what this is and what to do about it...right?:

View 4 Replies View RelatedI downloaded and installed Ubuntu and sectioned off a part of my hard drive for it. I intended to have it set up to run both windows 7 and linux together and let me choose which boot disk I wanted to use at start up. Ubuntu took over and so I read through some forums online. I can now get to the Windows 7 loading screen but it freezes there. I have my install disc and was hoping someone could assist me with getting windows 7 back. I do not care if I loose Ubuntu. I am currently sitting with the Administrator: X:windowssystem32cmd.exe from the System Recovery Options Menu with my Windows 7 Disc in the tray.

I've also tried reinstalling the program. What else can I do? I cannot use a Windows Installer Disk as I don't have one as the company installed Windows for me and I never got a disk.I also don't have a CD large enough to put the .iso on it. I made a Windows Repair Disk but I can't seem to be able to boot from it, my BIOS is that of a Gygabite 990x Mobo.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI want to view multiple windows side by side across the screen, and it kind of works, with a few issues. The first is that it never includes the window in which I am running Firefox, it will arrange every other window side by side and leave the browser window open at the original size across the whole lot. The second is I can't work out a way to say view windows side by side but exclude some - I want to snap my browser windows and a couple of other things which receive regular updates to the best possible use of the screen, but ignore windows running utilities, email, etc. Is there a way to say place some windows side by side without having to shut down and reopen the ones I'm not interested in viewing on side by side?
The third is, is there any way to specify the order in which I want it to display the windows? I get them in all kinds of random orders and even if I drag them around to be almost exactly where I want them, if I use the "side by side" they jump into different orders - I want Firefox to the left, IE to the right (they fulfil different view functions for me) and the other program in the middle. There seems to be no way for me to tell the system I want them lined up like that. Will I have to line things up on the screen manually if I want them like that? It's not always the same programs so I don't want to start incorporating commands to force them to run in certain sizes and locations.
I got a passive 3D monitor for Xmas and whilst the sales are on i want to get some good games that can make the most out of it.What games output either Side by Side/top and bottom or Interlaced 3D? Ive looked in the settings of a few recent games, some of them mention 3d but turning it on still outputs a 2D picture to the screen..

There is another suggestion to reset the default file association for exe, tried that but no difference. Couldn't find any other instance the same, look like my problem is more serious than other.
I just recently bought an HP Pavilion p6730f BV533AA#ABA Desktop PC - Intel Core i3-550 3.2GHz, 6GB DDR3, 1.5TB HDD, DVDRW, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Right out of the box it started acting a little touchy. I bought to get a project done for a client, so immediately I installed Adobe premiere cs5 along with a slew of other programs I use day to day. Within the first two days I noticed it would sometimes fail to open new programs after it had been left on for about a day. For example: lets say I go to open firefox, so I click on the firefox icon pinned to my taskbar. It glows, as if it is loading then fades. As if the computer forgot what my request was. I try clicking a few more times; same thing. So I go to the shortcut in my start menu, click it: same thing. the little circle appears next to my cursor for a moment, then the request is gone. Tried hotkeys; (windows button plus number position on taskbar) still nothing. I then try every program on the taskbar, each with the same results. (and giving proper time for the computer to think) Even simple programs like text editor will not open. To top it off, the shutdown process wont even initiate! At which point I have to hard-crash out to restart. After a fresh restart it works fine for a few days or so till this happens.
