I have forgotten my Administrator password. I have tried a couple of the free password crackers, but no luck. Also tried the command net user, with no luck; I get the "Access Denied" message whenever I try this. I've looked at a lot of the threads here, but they all seem to be just a little bit different. All I have access to is this other user profile, and I can't install anything on it without the Admin password. I have the Windows DVD, and have tried a boot repair, but it tells me that the OS is booting correctly (which it is). Where to from here ? It's wasted a helluva lot of time, and I just seem to be going round in circles. How can I give this profile I am using Admin rights ? Don't seem to be able to do anything without the Admin password.
I am attempting to setup Homegroup for first time on new computer, I was asked to set a password. The first pw was only 7 letters. It was rejected as requiring 8 letters. Attempted to re-enter new password and program states its the wrong password. When I go to the homegroup page there is no link to see and change password.
I am using windows 7 professional x64bit.My computer is in "Manipal.net" domain with user name "ESKE"Now I can't install any software. It says access denied.Computer is not allowing me to enable "built in admin account".How can I install new software?
I recently installed Windows 7. During installation, there will automatically be a user with administrative privileges. After completing, i created another "Standard User" as I wanted to limit other users for accessing all things. Then i opened the Built in Administrator account (net user administrator /active:yes). I deleted the account that i had created during installation of windows. Then I disabled the original administrator account (net user administrator /active:no)Now i only have Standard user account. whenever I try to open anything 'as an administrator', there will be a prompt in dimmed screen, asking for administrator password and click to yes; but there is not any place to enter the password.
I cant ever remember entering an administrator password in my Windows 7 acount names with a password. But it keeps coming up with an administrator name and asks for an administrator password. Can one be retreived or what other bypasses are there if any without rebooting.
I purchased a new HP laptop which included Windows 7 Home & Premium. I did the install, however, I do not remember during the install asking me to create the Administrator ID along with a password. I did create the Recovery Disks, but have not yet rebooted. When is the Administrators ID created? I do remember seeing an ID that may have been the default Administrator ID (Rick-PC). But I don't remember typing a password. If so, what are my options to either create an Administrator ID and a password? Or if it was created, can I find out what the password was or change it?
I have Windows 7 Home Premium, 32bit. I used System Tools and did a Disk Cleanup. However, when I tried to boot it up after the process, it asked for my Administrator Password. Why we have to have an Administrator User Account, I have no idea--especially when you can't get into it. I don't remember putting a password on for the Administrator Account. I have another User Account that I can get on the computer with, but I have pictures, videos, documents, etc. on the Administrator Account that I now cannot recover. Is there anything I can do, other than reinstalling Windows?
I changed my administrator password on my Dell Inspiron N5110 last and can't remember it. Prior to changing it I set-up a guest account, I never set-up a user account. Will a password reset disk work on an administrator password? I can't even restore my computer to a past date or factory installation without knowing my administrator password.
I've started to use my old laptop as our main one is currently broken down, sadly I have forgotten my administrator password on my laptop and can't access the files originally saved in that area nor do I have the privileges of using the administrator account.Another mistake is that I do not have a password reset key, or what ever it is called. So I have no idea on how to access my account.
i have three users on my start up page 2 administrators and 1 standard user. For the 2 administrators users i have forgotten the passwords. For the standard user i still have access to and can logon to the HDD but can not access any program files or even do any windows up dates due to USER ACCOUNT CONTROL i've been trying to access threw COMMAND PROMPTS but im not too familiar with the prompts terminology. and have gotten very frustrated with the CMD PROMPTS i know that if i can access threw the CMD i can remove the password for one or both of the administrator accounts an reset them threw the user accounts in the control panel i just cant seem to get past the UAC asking for my administrator password (WHICH I HAVE FORGOTTEN) nor can i seem to master the CMD PROMPTS either. also i no longer have the windows 7 disc which i used to install windows on the HDD.
Im trying to activate the administrator account, which requires administrative access however when trying to do a Run As on cmd It says "to continue, type and administrator password, and then click yes. Though there is no username and password prompt box appearing so all i can do is click "no".
I inherited a computer from my mother, but nobody knows the password. I would like to change the Administrative user name and password to download photos from my computer. Pavilion p6677 c-b PC bundle, Geniuin Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit system memory 6 GB DDR3, 1 Terabyte harrd drive AMD Athlon II 635 Quad-Core Processor HP 2310m 23 inch Diagonal Full HD ICD Monitor, SuperMulti DVD burner with LightScribe Technology, ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics.
I have a windows 7 ultimate edition 32 bit and linux mint 11 Katya on dual boot, I forgot my password for the only user account on windows 7 and that account was an administrator, unfortunately, i never created the password reset disk, after trying for a day or 2 to figure the password out, i started using mint to my advantage, i downloaded and installed a tool called "Chntpw", it's supposed to remove the password entirely or change it and it's able to unlock locked accounts like the guest account, i used the following command after changing the directory to my Windows/System32/config:
Sudo chntpw -u <myusername> sam
for some reason my SAM file is in lower case letters, anyways after using that to remove the password on my account, it says it was successful and i saved it and even checked it again and it says that it no longer requires a password, but when i rebooted my pc into windows 7, it still asked for a password, and after trying to a few other things like unlocking the administrator and guest accounts, 3 things happened: my account's profile picture changed, the password hint i typed disappeared and switch user option appeared, i tried using it but it for administrator it requires a password even though chntpw says it doesn't, and for the guest account it says that the method i'm using to log in isn't allowed.so i'm basically stuck out of my windows 7, and i'm doing my best to avoid a reinstall cuz my windows installation is 2.5 years old and it's working real fine and has alot programs, personal data and drivers installed.
I am writing a vba script for a standard user to run a program in elevated mode. Is there a way to program in the administrative password?ie..elevate "cmd /k mkdir "newfolder"The goal is to enable the standard user to create a new subfolder within a directory they don't have permission to do so as standard user.
I can't remember my administrator's password and I can't change it or reset it because there is no security questions. What can I do to access the administrator. It is protected.
I have an emachine that my uncle, used for a while and reset the admin password. He recently passed away so now I do not know how to get into the system. He had an administrator account. But I don't know the password. I've tried all I can think of, but doesn't work... Also i've tried to login in safe mode.. but the accounts screen comes up and there is only one account (My uncle's.. which is also the main admin account)... and there's a link under that says "reset password". Is there any free solution that I can use or do I have to go show to a technician or re-install?
