View 1 RepliesI'm looking for the above mentioned driver. Would anyone happen to know if this is available somewhere? It's not on the Linksys site, yet.
If you know and, for some reason, don't want to share it on the forums, could you please PM me the info. to me?
I have the linkys wireless g usb network adapter, its very popular, but doesn't get along well with linux or x64 os's.
Since the install of the RC ive been crashing, and it turned out to be the wireless adapters fault, so i thought back to when i had to get it working with linux, i was pretty sure their were x64 drivers. Ralink chipsets based wireless devices
SOME of the linksys wireless adapters have a "Ralink" chip in them, you can find 64 bit drivers for some of the adapters. I downloaded the one i needed (the first) and installed the software. I then went to update the drivers i had for the wireless adapter and was more than happy to find out that "Ralink Linksys Wireless 54g USB Network Adapter" right under the current 32 bit driver. after you install the software go to
Start > Contro Panel > Hardware And Sound > Device Manager > Network Adapters > Double click your current wireless device, > Driver Tab > Update Driver Software > Browse My Computer > Let Me Pick, > Select The RaLink Driver And their ya go!
Ok i used the MS compatibly site to see if the linksys WMP110 was compatibly with windows 7 and it said it was, So i bought it installed the drivers (which were actually vistax64 driver) it worked for a bit and then the computer started restard, try change the PCI port same problem,, Windows 7 did not auto install drivers for it i had to manually do it
Does any know of a good wireless card that works with Windows 7 with out any problems
tried a handful of different driver sets that seemed to work ok for people with earlier versions of the card that i found on here. nothing works for mine! am i gonna have to wait for linksys to come out with proper Windows 7 drivers or are there vista driver sets or something i can use on mine?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo I can't install my Linksys WUSB100 drive in Windows 7. It wouldn't complete installation, no matter what I do. The software doesn't allow it to download onto the computer and then be installed. HELP. I'm kind of a computer noob so I don't have any experience bypassing the security in windows 7 to install it.

After searching google for the past 6 hours and trying just about every driver that even remotly seems like it would work I decided to make an account here and ask you for your advice.
I am running Windows 7 Pro 64bit and it just doesnt want to connect to my network. Ive tried using linksys drivers, Railink drivers, some other drivers someone said would work as well as many of the preinstalled ones. Most of the time i manually search for the drivers and and pick the linksys ones for the list of drivers i get:
"Windows found driver software for your device but has encountered an error while attempting to install it "
"the device cannot start (code 10)"
I would really appreciate some help on this matter. Im hoping i dont have to buy another adaptor but if i do can you guys suggest som that work with 64bit systems.
by the way: this adapter worked flawlessly with Vista 64x without any drivers at all, i was simply able to use windows network manager to connect to my network.
after i reset my router my ps3 and ipod cant connect to it. And i typed in the IP adress in the browser then it shows a verizon page. I type in admin password since its the default, but the screen falshes and has me re do it over and over. I cant get pass that page.

My wife's laptop is running Vista (Enterprise I think) and also works using LPR for both although is a little squirrely sometimes. I recently got Windows 7 and installed the LPR service - Port 1 works fine but Port 2 WILL NOT work - PERIOD.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 this morning and thought that it would be best to get the internet running first thing then start putting on all the programs that I would like to have. While running the linksys wireless usb adapter the setup will recognize that the adapter is inserted into the computer in multiple different usb ports but will not finish the install once inserted. Is this a known windows 7 bug or am I doing something wrong wih the installation? If you would like more information just ask and I would be more than happy to provide it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedUsing a Linksys USB Network adapter WUSB11 Ver. 2.6, with windows installed driver, Windows could not even detect networks within range. The "troubleshoot connection" option is no help. I uninstalling the driver and installed the downloaded driver from the website for Windows Vista and rebooted. Same problem, no networks even detected, even though the computer running XP 2 feet away could connect and this computer when it was running XP connected fine with the same USB adapter.
I decided to try a hard wire to the on board adapter. No problem, except, I don't want a 20 foot cable running through my living room to the computer room.
So, I bought a ConnectGear Wireless N USB Adapter (WU260N). Windows auto installed drivers, so I uninstalled, and installed drivers through the DVD Setup wizard that came with the adapter. Windows sees connections now! But when I click on my network, it doesn't even prompt for the WEP passkey for my router.
It does prompts for a passkey when trying to connect to my neighbor's. I rebooted the computer and the modem and router, same problem...it won't prompt for a passkey for my router. Something's wrong with my router settings, right? Thinking it is the WEP configuration issue, I changed the router to WPA2 Personal with a passkey and rebooted the computer, modem, and router. It prompts for a passkey now, but will not connect. I changed the router to disable security, rebooted the computer, router, and modem. The computer STILL won't connect, even though the computer sitting 2 feet away has no problem.
I feel like I'm sooo close, but have run out of ideas to fix this. I would really prefer to use the Linksys USB adapter, I originally bought since I can't return it now. But if the new ConnectGear is my only option since it at least sees connections, I'm okay with that. I just want this computer on the internet already!
practical differences between these two routers?
I just got a Linksys WMP600N Dual-Band PCI adapter card, so it was recommended that I purchase a Dual-Band Linksys wireless router and it looks like these models are the starting points.

My new PC is in another room and I'm using all of this to connect it to the internet.
I recently moved downstairs in my household and was overjoyed to finally be able to use the network hub downstairs. Ive been using wireless lately which has served me well for my pc, but not for my Xbox 360.
Anyway I decided to plug in the ethernet cable and see if I might be able to set it up on my pc and then save the settings to a USB stick so I could use it for my 360 (right now it wont connect, says it cannot get an IP adress).
I didn't set up the network (my father did) so at this point I cant fiddle with the settings. Everything should be working, but its not.
When I plugged my pc directly into the hub upstairs it worked perfectly, but for some strange reason down here the connection comes up as
Unidentified Network, No Internet Access
Has anyone else had this problem before? The hub should be working (i even plugged it in after taking the cables out, resetting it if you will, no dice).
Also, forgot to add, it says that there is no connectivity, but I checked the connection and it automatically gets the ip and subnet address, which works fine with the wireless.
Same question for me: I just bought a new computer for my kids that is running Windows 7. I bought a Linksys WUSB54GC G USB Adapter by Cisco. I just found out they do not have the driver for Windows 7 yet. Can anyone recommend a USB adapter that works with Windows 7?
