Jun 8, 2012my daughter pressed a couple of keys earlier and now my laptop keyboard isnt working properly. It is really strage because a few keys are working but not in thier usual function. My partner logged out so now i am sat at a login screen and cant key in a password. The on screen keyboard is behaving the same way which is very odd! Any suggestions? I have only had it 3 weeks and have had no problems it's been great. My mrs said she was trying to type in a website and windows kept popping up when she typed, and then she logged out.

Oct 20, 2011My laptop seems to have problems with most USB devices. It is running Win 7 professional 64 bit. Firstly it will only take a HP external keyboard. I have tried a Microsoft KB and a Kensington KB and neither would work. A standard mouse will work OK. Then I tried to use a Plantronic BUA200 BT dongle. Had one working after about 2 days of fiddling, then got a new one and it sits with a yellow triangle saying it needs a driver, but can't find any. The odd thing is the dongle will still pair with the headset. So I bought a USB headset today and gets the same thing. Windows tries to install it, but says it fails to find the drivers. Have run Windows update twice recently, so that is all up to date. USB flash drives seem to be OK.

I thought my computer frozen so I would restart it , but I just hooked up my keyboard and mouse and they work just fine on the laptop , but when i unplug them i can't use my keyboard or mouse to my computer. Feb 27, 2012After I cloned Windows 7 onto � new SSD Crucial 256GB M4 disk I was not able to boot from the new SSD disk.I reinstalled Windows on the new SSD disk but dont want to reinstall all programs so i booted again from the old disk with myWindows 7 on it.But now my keyboard doesnt work after Windows 7 is loaded. Apr 17, 2012I have a Dell Vostro 1050 with 2Gb RAM and 320 HDD space. i bought this laptop new and it worked for just one day and the following day when i started it in the morning after like 5 minutes, nothing was responding. i mean the curse wasn't moving, the key board keys not working and nothing was responding till when i had to long press the power button and turned it off. Turning it back on it worked for the next 30 minutes, then it froze again. i have tried changing the RAM chips and Used Different HDD's but all in vain.

Dec 27, 2009I just installed windows 7 ultimate on my daughters, acer aspire 3050 laptop. It was running vista home basic before. The vista install was damaged by viruses, so I decided to upgrade her to 7. All the hardware was recognized, but for some reason the keyboard does not work, it was working fine with the virus riddled vista install. For some strange reason the windows key does bring up the start menu, but none of the other keys seem to do anything.
They all work in the BIOS just fine. Also the touch pad does work, but the cursor movement is very jerky, and it was also fine in vista. I went to acer's site, they don't have any windows 7 drivers available for this model, or any vista drivers for the keyboard, I installed the vista touch pad drivers, but they did not seem to help. I also messed with the keyboard settings in control panel, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas, on what I need to do to fix this. I have been really pleased with 7 on my other computers, and would hate to have to go back to vista.
