I've created a vpn service on the sharing tab of the vpn service I open a combo to share this vpn with the xbox lan. The problem is that after connecting to the vpn, I have "no internet access" at the xbox lan, if I delete the vpn service, Ido have a internet connection. I tried the other way by making a bridge connection with my wireless and xbox lan, but with this connection I cant connect to the vpn. The reason that I need the vpn service is to "fake" my region over the net and buy games, watch netflix etc.
View 1 Replies View RelatedPreviously in IE8, there was a great option that allowed users to create a search provider if one could not be found in IE's list of add-on search providers. You can see a good overview of how it used to be done at CNET: Add search engines in Internet Explorer 8 | CNET TV - CNET. As this article states, "If you don't see your favorite. Scroll to the bottom and click "Create your own search provider."" IE has changed how you add search providers and there is no longer a list to scroll.
Apparently, IE has removed the link to launch the dialog box to "Create Your Own Search Provider" (I cant find this link). Using IE8, Is there a way to easily create my own search provider? I am not looking for a solution that requires me to directly change the registry. I currently have 9 Search Engines in the IE Search engine Drop down and I want to add one more. The Search engine I want to Add is not available in IE's list of add-ons.
I am currently trying to use my laptop wireless to provide Internett access to my Desktop computer (wireless). I remember doing this on my XBOX 360, all though I am not quite sure how to do this on Windows 7 64 Bit ultimate.
I have connected a ethernet cable from my laptop to my Desktop Computer, and they are both lightning green.
If anyone could be kind enough to provide me with information on how to do this step by step, I would really appreciate it!
I have Windows 7, but I want to change my email carrier from "Outlook" to something else.

I am connected to the internet via a wireless router and an extender...The connection was good and had a strong signal. Now it is off and on, mostly off. When I can get a connection, it sometimes lasts only as long as it takes to click on a link. Then no service... I seldom have a connection for more than a few minutes at a time. I have seen several error messages when I trouble-shoot. The one I see most often is "The default gateway is not available'.

With my new computer I have been using my old laptop to connect to my wireless network (since my new computer doesn't have a wireless adapter) through the Internet Connection Sharing function in Windows 7. This all worked fine for about a week but then suddenly I cannot connect to the internet anymore. I discovered that this was because the Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service was not started. I tried starting it but I just get an error saying "The Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) service on Local Computer started then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs."
View 2 Replies View RelatedAs I wanted to enable the ICS on my machine it tells me that I can't and that the service that is being enabled does not exist as an installed service and that is ICS.I did a lot of digging on the net about it and it's weird, but I can't find anything concrete about this particular problem. The PC I'm talking about is a work PC with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.I don't think that someone at my work removed this service (I'm not even sure if you can remove a service) but it is missing from the list and it can't be enabled. Is there any way of manually installing it on my windows 7x64?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy mom's laptop is detecting that our wireless internet connection is active, but it won't actually connect to the internet. When we troubleshoot the issue, it says that our diagnostic policy service isn't running. Since we can't connect to the internet on the laptop, we can't run any updates or perform any virus scans. We've tried manually adding a network service through cmd.exe, and uninstalling the network adapters and restarting the computer. We've also tried to run a system file check, but it doesn't seem to activate. The sfc box just disappears when we try to initiate a scan. I imagine we might have to back up her important files and just reinstall the operating system, but her laptop came with a preinstalled OS, and no discs.

i am using windows 7. i have never been able to create any accounts other than my administrator account & the one account i use for all my general computer use. i have been using norton 360 with no problems. i have resorted to just using any "log in/log out' links on all the sites my husband wants to use.i am really not all that confident doing anything super technical to fix this, since i don't have a real understanding of different extensions or types of files. i am afraid i could really mess everything up really bad. but, it would just be SO MUCH EASIER & FASTER if i had my account & my husband had his own account.
