View 1 Replies View RelatedI tried installing Windows 7 64 bit OEM on a fresh hard drive but it kept crashing and now when I try booting the system seems to think Windows is installed saying ''Windows failed to start'' in boot manager. View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't have a hard drive large enough to backup the data on my daughter's netbook with a corrupted W7 starter install. When I attempt to re-install W7 starter, it does tell me that if it detects a previous Windows install, it will move the files over into a Windows.old folder. I'm familiar with the process, but can I really trust that the installation won't just format and install over my previous files? Does it mostly find your old install and move it with little fail rate?Looking at the drive through a liveCD, I can see all my files are indeed still there. Although I will have to delete some files to make room for a new install since I apparently don't have enough room for it. Would it be safe to delete everything in my Programs folder (I don't mind losing this)? Or would that make the Windows installer unable to recognize my previous install?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit on my Laptop. I heard about installing Win 2008 Server(Not Windows Server 2008 R2 bcoz its 64bit and my Windows 7 is 32bit)on vhd in Windows 7.My first question is, can I install Win server 2008 on vhd in Windows 7 HP 32bit. or I need other versions of Windows 7 like professional or Ultimate. I tried installing Win Svr 2008 on vhd in Windows 7 Hp 32bit but did not work, this is what i did.Created a new fixed size/extnedable vhd in win 7, initialized and attached the vhd. Then put win server 2008 dvd and ran setup inside Windows 7, it asked me where to istall. I selected the newly created and formatted vhd drive(F). But it says load vhd HBA driver, i tired to find the driver online, in Windows 7 and win svr 2008 cd but no joy. I dont know wether, win svr 2008 can be installed on a vhd in Windows 7 Hp. I read online how to isntall win svr 2008 r2 on Windows 7 ulitimate, by pressing SHIFT+F10 at install time and then doing something in diskpart and then doing dual boot with Windows 7.i need to updgrae my win 7 to professional or ultimate to accomplish this job or there is way to do with Windows 7 HP. as vhd is just virtual, can any windows version be istalled on vhd.My main thing i need is having Windows 7 as main OS and dual boot with win svr 2008 which is on vhd.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on a Dell Studio 1745 running Win7 64 Home Premium. I need to run a piece of hardware (Tascam US122) that is incompatiable with the 64bit OS. My plan is to partition the drive and install Win 7 32bit on the new partition so I can run the mentioned hardware. I've done this on another machine (Dual Boot XP and Win 7) and ran into a problems with the bootloader. I learned to install older OS FIRST because of that. I'm wondering if installing Win7 32bit on a current Win7 64bit machine will cause a similar problem with bootloaders? I'd rather not have to mess with the bootloaders, but I really need to run this hardware.

View 5 Replies View Relatedit's good to join you. Now i have very big problem. So i bought new motherboard (3 days ago) and installed all parts: cpu, 2 HDD's (160GB sata and 250GB ide) + ODD and that's all. Then, how ussualy i plugged power cable to motherboard. Everything is connected good. I turn power on-> insert Win7 home premium x64 CD -> boot -> start to install -> format and create 2 partitions (1 partition for 1 HDD) -> press that windows will be installed on 160 GB HDD -> windows loads files and when start expanding it goes slow. Few times (maybe 2 of all) it reached 60% but more than 25% - never. What i see and what happens: I see blue screen with information that i must disable antivirus and so on. In the end of the page i see that something is stopped (but now i cant write what because i can't see).
When i try to install win xp, it seems like everything is OK. Oh i forgot to say that i tested and wiped my HDD's with hirens bootable cd.
