i am using hid compliant imation keyboard on my acer aspire then suddenly the numeric pad isnt working. what is the problem in my system. base driver cant be found and upon inserting in the usb port the system dont intall automatically.

Until yesterday they work fine all of a sudden they will not work. I have tried a different keyboard but it is the same problem. Just recently I have added Dragon Naturally Speaking to my computer, I don't know if this is the problem.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an Imation Usb Flash disk 4GB nano pro, everytime I plug in to my Toshiba Laptop A300 using Windows 7 it says windows update cannot find the driver , so it say usb device not recognized and I cant see it in my Devices with removable storage.
When i go to device manager, i can see the unknown device as nano pro but no driver installed, it has an yellow exclamation mark. tried update driver but failed because Windows 7 cannot find it online.
When i run Ubuntu OS on the same laptop, usb imation is working so i guess theres a problem only with Windows 7 driver or Windows 7 OS .
Also, i tried a different brand usb flash disk and its working on Windows 7 only this Imation brand.
My new Gateway NE56R1u's numeric keyboard has stopped working. Is there a way to fix it?

It is really strage because a few keys are working but not in thier usual function. My partner logged out so now i am sat at a login screen and cant key in a password. The on screen keyboard is behaving the same way which is very odd! Any suggestions? I have only had it 3 weeks and have had no problems it's been great. View 2 Replies View RelatedI save a lot of folders on my desktop. For the most part they are sorted alphabetically, from A to Z, with no problem.
For the last several months, if something is named numerically, they are saved backwards. In other words, if I have files named 001, 002, 003 instead of showing up in 001-002-003 sort order, they show up in 003-002-001 sort order.
How do I change this back to the original 001-002-003 sort order?
My specific problem is i have pressed some key combination on my vaio fw11m laptop, and the keys on the right hand side of the keyboard - u,i,o,p,h,j,k,l,b,n,m are now coming up as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0 - when pressed. I have tried alt/fn/ctrl with some of the function keys to reverse this, but to no avail. I remember this happening once with a previous vaio 7 yrs ago, I cannot remember the key combination to correct it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop seems to have problems with most USB devices. It is running Win 7 professional 64 bit. Firstly it will only take a HP external keyboard. I have tried a Microsoft KB and a Kensington KB and neither would work. A standard mouse will work OK. Then I tried to use a Plantronic BUA200 BT dongle. Had one working after about 2 days of fiddling, then got a new one and it sits with a yellow triangle saying it needs a driver, but can't find any. The odd thing is the dongle will still pair with the headset. So I bought a USB headset today and gets the same thing. Windows tries to install it, but says it fails to find the drivers. Have run Windows update twice recently, so that is all up to date. USB flash drives seem to be OK.

I thought my computer frozen so I would restart it , but I just hooked up my keyboard and mouse and they work just fine on the laptop , but when i unplug them i can't use my keyboard or mouse to my computer. I have a Dell Vostro 1050 with 2Gb RAM and 320 HDD space. i bought this laptop new and it worked for just one day and the following day when i started it in the morning after like 5 minutes, nothing was responding. i mean the curse wasn't moving, the key board keys not working and nothing was responding till when i had to long press the power button and turned it off. Turning it back on it worked for the next 30 minutes, then it froze again. i have tried changing the RAM chips and Used Different HDD's but all in vain.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 ultimate on my daughters, acer aspire 3050 laptop. It was running vista home basic before. The vista install was damaged by viruses, so I decided to upgrade her to 7. All the hardware was recognized, but for some reason the keyboard does not work, it was working fine with the virus riddled vista install. For some strange reason the windows key does bring up the start menu, but none of the other keys seem to do anything.
They all work in the BIOS just fine. Also the touch pad does work, but the cursor movement is very jerky, and it was also fine in vista. I went to acer's site, they don't have any windows 7 drivers available for this model, or any vista drivers for the keyboard, I installed the vista touch pad drivers, but they did not seem to help. I also messed with the keyboard settings in control panel, but nothing seems to help. Does anyone have any ideas, on what I need to do to fix this. I have been really pleased with 7 on my other computers, and would hate to have to go back to vista.

I installed its drivers, plugged it in, worked great I loved it!Then after a reboot, both my regular keyboard (Razer Lycosa Mirror) and the n52te don't work in games only. But its ONLY when using the WASD keys to move around, if I go to chat in game, the keyboard works fine. Just using the WASD keys doesn't work, unless I tap the space bar, that usually makes you up, and if it doesn't make you jump, the WASD keys work again. the other keys on the keyboard, n52te and Lycosa, work such as the c, v, e, q, z, x, and many others.
If your confused, (like me) the WASD keys don't make you move even though they should, until you hit the space bar, then they (WASD keys) work until they get stuck moving me. I then have to press the key that moves me in the direction. ex. stuck going left, I have to hit the D key, then the space bar to be able to move again. But I can type just fine in games. Also this problem only occurs in games, no other applications. It seems to happen where a key is needed to be pressed, but does not type a letter (Flash games, Crysis, Various other games) But it works fine in a browser, or other writing app. to type

Yesterday I got on my computer everything is running fine. Today got on it for awhile and suddenly the USB keyboard and USB mouse lock up. I've tried restarting it and I can't get past the first screen. It says keyboard not present or something around those lines.I plugged in a ps/2 keyboard and it works but my USB mouse will still not work. I've tried going into BIOS and making sure USB was enabled. Tried a system restore but for some reason it wont complete.
