View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Windows 7. My "C" drive is 74.4 GB with very little room left.
Can I move some contents to my very empty "D" drive which has 1.36 TB.
I'm having trouble with my server - whenever I try to copy a file from an external hard drive to a folder in my network server, a window pops up saying the space is full. However, I know that there should be space. The server holds about 1 TB of data and there is currently only 200 GB or so. Furthermore, I have recently deleted about 700 GB of data so there should be space. No matter how much I delete, the window keeps popping up.

I have heard horror stories about upgrading to a new OS from and old one (95 to 98, 98 to Me, Me to XP, etc, etc) and that it is better to buy the full version and start with a clean slate... is there any truth to that? Are the Marketing Nazis behind this myth just to make you spend, yet, more money?
Frankly, I have never purchased any Microsoft OS until SP1 is out due to the bugs and glitches but, after testing the Windows 7 RC, not to its fullest of course, but to the extent of my liking, which by the way, is as far as I am ever going to take it anyways, I am thinking of dumping Vista x64 and just stick to 7.
Sure, there are still things that I can't do with 7 that I used to be able to do with XP easily but I am managing w/o them or trying to be patient with it... of course, that is not here nor there!
When I'm adding files to burn to a CD, how do I tell when the CD is full and won't hold any more? My program on my old computer had a little line at the bottom, and each time I added one it would fill up more and more till the tip of it started to turn yellow if I had too much on.

We all know you can do a clean install with upgrade from XP to Windows 7. But are there any actual benefits of buying Full over Upgrade?
I might be getting a student deal for Windows 7 Ultimate. I noticed though that the box says "UPGRADE". So my question is with the key, if I download the RTM release of 7 Ultimate x64 can I use that key considering its the full and not the upgrade? Or does Microsoft specify their keys for full and upgrades?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and it's installed on a 120Gb SSD along with all my software. I only install software and drivers on this drive. I also have 2x1Tb drives for storing everything else. The combined total of all the visible folders in the main directory of my C drive is 77Gb (including the Windows folder) but my system tells me that I have only 1.6Gbof free space. This is causing a lot of problems with Photoshop, AE etc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a 128gb SSD as my primary but it's suddenly looking a little full. I THINK it happened after I tried to use the windows back up...which didn't complete itself anyway. The HDD reads a max capacity of 111GB with 39GB free. If I select all the folders (I have the hidden ones showing) the total size according to the windows properties window is 67.2 GB. The windows folder (not including program files) shows 37 gb when I select it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI keep getting this message popping up in my alerts bar. A while ago I accidentally tried to create a recovery in my recovery drive, which was bigger than the drive has allocated to it. So it maxed out the drive but couldn't complete the recovery file. So I tried deleting it, but the file kept re-appearing and re-filling my drive. So I tried copying the original recovery folder that came with the original install to my desktop and then re-formatting the drive. I haven't restarted the computer yet but as of now the drive is clear. Problem is, when I went to copy that folder back to the D drive, it is giving me an error when I try to open it. What files were in that folder, and how can I get them back?

It shows it is in the Lonova D and there is an error code 0x81000005. Is this why this is happening below?

I fear that I've already picked up something nasty on my machine. I have downloaded Spybot and it's giving me the below information after clicking the "Fix Above" button:

Just bought a new computer (well, used but new to me). Last week there was 25GB free. I haven't downloaded anything and I got a pop up saying I have 8 mg. left. I have spent an hour trying to figure out where the space is. I can't tell. Windows 7. I have Dropbox on it, could this be it? I have downloaded a few small programs (less the 20 mg.) I also downloaded Java which has a very special way of screwing computers up, I have noticed.
