I have created a 'Template' and saved it as a Word Template (*.dotx) and it's been saved in my 'Documents Library'.
How do I get it to appear in the My Templates folder which appears under the Office Button in the 'New' option?
When I select 'New/My Templates', the dialogue box advises that to add a template, click Save As/Trusted Templates... but Trusted Templates is not there!
The Administrative Templates node is missing from the User Configuration node in my Group Policy editor (see attached screen capture). How do I fix this?

1. Admin
2. Kids
3. Media
I spent ages yesterday setting up GPO (kidslocked.msc) for my kids account and had to go through EACH individual setting. Eventually i got it spot on, but the only problem was that in the event of a problem, i wanted to be able to reset the settings, so that i can setup anything i need. I ended up downloading/running a file from this site:-
Where do i get a reset config file from for GPO?
That file has now reset my GPO settings, but it's also cleared the settings i saved for kidslocked.msc too.
Here is what i want to know:-
1. Can i get readymade GPO templates?2. If the answer to question 1 is NO, then how can i multi-select the settings??...i want to enable ALL settings in the Administrative Templates and then simply disable those that i don't want.
in Outlook 2010 I have a large list of contacts all divided into categories with 50+ e-mail addresses each. I normally select the category and create a new e-mail for these contacts, paste a signature of text to the e-mail, copy/paste the subject and mark the e-mail with high importance and confidential. Is it possible to create a new e-mail with the categories/e-mail addresses I want to send to and upload a template to paste the e-mail text, subject, high importance and confidential?

These fields should have a special formatting (font and size) which is missing after protecting the document. How to fix this? Only possible with a macro? Tried to do it but couldn't make it work. View 2 Replies View RelatedI changed via the dialog the TEXT SIZE via the screen resolution in the control panel to CUSTOM SIZE.With one of the newer "Cinema" or Very Wide screen (1680 X 900) displays after I'd increased the text size to over 160 % I didn't get the possibility to SAVE any documents any more via the SAVE AS button. The SAVE dialog would appear but the SAVE button was missing.The effect was noticed in Office 2007 (all programs) Notepad etc etc.Seems to be a Windows fault as this should not be allowed to happen.on more traditional "Squarer" type monitors -- no problem.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy computer is running windows 7 ultimate. From the last few days I have noticed that my computer does not save changes before shutdown or restart.
Take for example you have placed the recycle bin folder on top-left corner of the desktop which was earlier placed on the bottom-right corner. Then after restarting you would get the recycle bin folder again on the bottom right corner. But if you save something in the disk like a document in Documents folder, then it will still be there at the disk even after restart.
why I wouldn't be able to save a .txt or an 'all files' document in Notepad? I don't get any errors or anything, just no response when I hit the 'save' button. I'm running a Dell Inspiron laptop, about seven months old and have all the latest service packs and such.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a desktop (A) and a laptop (B) with W7 Home Premium 64-bit and a laptop (C) with W7 Home Premium 32-bit. I have been trying to connect all three so that I can have full control of files. For example: When I am on A I would like to access and alter files on B. When I try to save a file I have worked on, I get the message that I do not have permission or could not save file is blocked.
I have given each PC a unique user name and given each full control on the respective PCs by going to Properties > Advanced Sharing > Permissions. I have gone into Windows Firewall to allow programs to communicate and added the programs I wish to use. I have done Take Ownership.
Still very new to Windows 7 but getting to like it more each time I use it.
Now that I have a few more programmes installed, Word, CorelDRAW etc, what is the correct way to save the files? At the minute everything I save goes into one file called My Documents. Should I somehow be saving files for different programmes in different areas.
It's not to bad at the minute as I only have a few files for Word and CorelDRAW. Most of my work is still on my older XP system.
My computer is win 7 and here recently it the circle by the pointer goes off and on periodically i have ran windows security and also malwarbytes and hijack this hijack says for some reason your system denied write access to host file. is this bad also i cant save the log file from hijack this.

When I do a save as file and I click on Desktop on the side bar it will save it to my desktop in System32/config/desktop instead of user/desktop. If I save a file instead of save as it will go to my normal desktop under user/desktop. Is there a setting somewhere to change the default desktop back to user?

When I open these files and try to update them I get the message that Sigil files can't be changed. I am sure there is an easy way to get rid of this identification as Sigil. As a matter of fact many of the files were created before I had Sigil. It just took over my txt files. It is NOT a question of the extension. They all have the .txt extension.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought my new computer about 3-4 months ago but the other day it decided to stop saving web history. It will show some pages but not all. If it does save, it will save the initial page but nothing after that. Normally when opening a website, a bar will appear above the taskbar at the bottom of the screen that says 'Website found, Waiting for reply...' on the left hand side and 100% on the right, etc., that bar is no longer appearing. I've check the internet options part and the 'delete browsing history on exit' is unchecked. Disk space is set at 250 and days at 20. I'm running windows 7, IE 9.

I have been using the File -> Save Page As function, but I now discover that the saved .htm file is still tied to the webpage and can be lost if the webpage is changed. I want to archive a snapshot of the webpage at that particular point in time.

If I use the scan program in Win7 it only allows me to save documents as a TIF or JPEG. Why cant I save as a PDF ?My printer is a HP 2570. Before I changed to Win7 I had a dedicated HP Information Centre that I used to scan,save and organise in any format I or my customers chose. This program also updated automatically but is not available within Win7. Do I need to download this program again from HP or will there be a conflict with Win7 ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy problem is that when I download files, the download proceeds normally, but the file is never saved on the specified destination regardless of the chosen destination. It doesn't give any error, the download window simply closes. If I instead of choosing "save" select "run" nothing happens after the download is complete. I have tried to reset my internet settings and I am not using a download manager. I am using Explorer 8 and since I can't download files I can't try with Firefox or Chrome. I have also tried to use "Windows Update" to see whether that helps, but this function gives an error message saying that the service is not running.

Like, is there a way to configure my IE to just autommatically save user/pass info for every site that I log into? I have yet been able to figure this out, and I have accounts for tons of sites and never remember to click the "remember" button and constantly have to reset my pass, which makes it even harder. If there was a way to auto save, so when I go to a site, I can look it up in a password protected folder.
