How To Run A 32bit Cd On A 64bit OS
Nov 29, 2009I have various educational CDs that work on the older 32bit Windows OS, from Win95 - Win2000.
However, they do not run on the 64bit Windows OS I now have. Is there any way to make these CDs work on my new 64bit Windows OS?

Have tried netsh winsock reset and went to ControlPanel-Network & Sharing-network connection but it comes up blank. Ethernet card shows up in Device Manager.Just discovered that almost every service is disabled!

May 5, 2011i have a samsung r522 laptop with 2.2ghz processor, 4gb ram and a dedicated ati card. i can only use 2.89gb of ram cause of my 32bit windows 7 premium, i want too get the most out of this laptop, would an upgrade too 64bit windows 7 home premium? i do light gaming, msn, skype, internet.so basic question is for the 1.18gb ram is it worth getting 64bit? i have 2 120gb hdd's id install it on the second. also is there any way of getting my os too 64bit without buying the WHOLE Windows 7 again?

Oct 14, 2009i have an HP Pavilion tx2000z CTO with 4gb of RAM installed i am dual booting windows 7 7600 RTM 32bit and leo4all v2. i have a problem i have 4gigs of ram installed and windows finds it and says that there is 4 gigs but only says 2.94 gigs usable is there any way to make the 32bit editions use all 4 gigs? i searched the site but i might have been using the wrong keywords.

All 32bit Programs Crash?
Apr 19, 2012I cant run any 32bit exe. I can run sfc /scannow and I can run any virus software. When my computer boots it says that all my startup 32 bit programs have crashed and I cant open anything unless it is 64 bit. Again I cant run virus software unless it is only 64 bit and I cant run sfc /scannow. It stops at 10%. want to do a system restore or factory reset both of which I dont think will fix this anyway and I dont have the windows 7 cd.

Windows 7 32bit Not Working?
Jul 23, 2012I have a NB550D with windows 7 home 32Bit installed and but i am having issues with it. I usually put it to sleep all the time as i use it for school. I went to use it 2 days ago and it started to become REALLY slow. The hdd light was on all the time and doing anything started to take a very long time. It ended up blue screening with something up the top with irql not less or equal message up the top but before i could read anymore it restarted.When it starts up, it prompts for my password, and i login. It then sits on the Welcome screen with the little circle spinning for ages. it ends up with a black screen with the cursor that is moveable for about 10 minutes and then it freezes. The hdd light is on the whole time.
It is booting into safe mode so i decided to install SP1 to see if that would cure it which it did... for 1 day. It has stopped working again today with the same symptoms but instead of it sitting in welcome screen for 5 minutes it sits there for about 30 seconds and then goes to a black screen with the cursor. It appears to be loading something because the cursor has got that little spinning thing and then after a while the task bar comes up. It is responsive to some degree but the background is nowhere to be found. I can move the mouse right up until 2 seconds before it reboots. there is no warning as to when it reboots, it just goes blank and then the BIOS logo appears. It appears to be trying to load something faster than the HDD can cope and then it crashes. It still boots into safe mode.

Feb 22, 2013I had been troubleshooting internet disconnects using Java based software called Internet Connection Monitor. I ran it for several days without problems and then one evening the computer was hosed up. It had rebooted back into Windows XP which I kept on the computer as a dual boot and after restarting it refused to boot Win 7. It suggested last known good settings and half way through it initiated a restore and finally booted to Win 7. However all was not well.
None of the 32 bit browsers were working, only IE9 64 bit also Malwarebytes will not update and Outlook won't open at all. After searching a bit I downloaded and ran Malwarebyte rootkit removal it found something and looks like it fixed that. A complete scan found some more viruses which got removed. I have tried flushing DNS, releasing and renewing ipconfig, and some other commands all to no avail the browsers still won't work. I have looked at system restore but there are only restores for after the problem occurred.

May 3, 2012I just bought a new, CPU, Motherboard, PSU, and casing, and I take my graphic card, ram and HDD/SDD from my old computer. I put them on to my new computer, then turned it on, but then it says windows cannot boot, I pick the right HDD for my windows folder, and it says to repair, and I tried the repair mode, but then it says windows cannot repair this, and i only can click finish and shut down my computer.

Jul 14, 2009I have been running build 7260 for awhile on my Asus notebook (see system spec) and so far have not had too many issues with it. Since I have done several succesive upgrades: Vista Business > Windows 7 build 7227 > Windows 7 build 7260 I have noticed some bugs creeping in (apps and games are crashing periodically or not loading correctly, gaming performance could be better). I attribute this to the string of successive upgrades.
I am going to wipe the drive and do a clean install of either the 32 or 64 bit RTM build in the next few days as it becomes available. One of the main goals is to increase performance with both applications and games. I use this laptop for work doing web development and heavy photoshop and graphics intensive work. I typically have many applications open at once using quite allot of system resources.
For this project I am going to:
A: Add another 2gb of ram to bring the total from 3gb to 4gb, or
B: Add a fast 16gb sd card to the system for the ReadyBoost feature, probably using around 6 to 9gb for this feature
For me to add the extra gig of ram it becomes more necessary to install the 64 bit build. If I use the 16gb sd card for ReadBoost, I can probably stick with 32 bit. None of my apps are currently 64 bit anyhow so I am not sure 64bit is the way to go right now.
I would like to hear people's thoughts on this and what others experiences have been especially using ReadyBoost on systems with over 2gb of memory..
