How To Expand Epson Software

Jun 11, 2011

I have a package marked epson13069.exe which is a completeinstallation package for 32 bit windows (specifically Windows XP/2000).How can I run this to simply extract the files without running theinstallation program? I'm trying to get the drivers unpacked sothat I can plug them into printers/compatibility sharing for futuredownloads should other XP machines need the drivers.

Installing Windows 7 Won't Expand Files

Aug 29, 2011

So I booted from my win7 install disc, got to the part where I formatted my hard drive, and started the install, but at the "Windows is expanding files" part it doesn't move past 0% and i get this error that says that something may be corrupted. This doesn't make any sense to me because I've had the computer working for almost two years now, and reinstalled win7 with the same disc multiple times.

Start Menu Items Don't Expand After IE9 Beta Update

Feb 15, 2011

After I updated my Internet Explorer 9 Beta, the items in my Start menu are no longer expandable and I cannot click on them. I am not refering to the All Programs, but the items in the blue bar such as Documents, Favorites, Recent Items etc. Clicking on the main item (ex: Favorites) will list my favorites and folders, but I cannot click on any of them or expand the items inside. Oddly enough, I can expand and click on Favorites from within IE9.

A shutdown, restart, disk check have all failed to fix the problem. As I stated, this started immediately after I did the latest update to my IE9 Beta dated 15 Feb 2011.

Plugin For Exploer To Expand Folders In The Main Window?

I was wondering is there any plugin for Windows 7 that allows you to expand a folder without actually clicking into the folder?

Basically the functionality that is in the navigation pane but not for the main explorer window. OS X and Ubuntu both have this feature, anyone know of a plugin for explorer or a registry tweak to add this functionality (for the main window)???

Here are the screenshots of OS X and Ubuntu so you know exactly of what I'm talking about.

Failed To Expand Shell Folder Constant 'userappdata'

Feb 11, 2013

I wanted to have this searchable in case others have come across the same problem. This problem occurs when you try to install certain programs. I tried all of these fixes, but I'll label the one that worked for me. (I will only show the fixes I tried which have been confirmed to work for others). My operating system is a Windows 7 64 bit.

1. Create a new administrator account, log on to that account, then run the installer from that account. (this is what worked for me. )(Simply running the installer as an administrator account from my normal account did not work)

2. Go to the command prompt (by clicking the windows logo/start and typing cmd ),then type regedit inside the command prompt and press enter. Browse to the location: HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows -->Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders. Click to highlight the Recent key, then click File, export. Save the file (but remember where you saved it to). Go back to the registry editer, right click Recent and click delete. Restart your computer and try the installation again. (please take care when you're in the registry editer, deleting the wrong thing could lead to:.(If this one did not work, go back to User Shell Folders inside the registry editor, click a blank area inside the right pane, click File, import, and choose the Recent key you exported earlier. This will put the key back in your registry.)

3. Boot up in safe mode with networking ( to do this, start up your computer and press F8 like a madman before the windows logo appears on the screen.) and try to run the installer as an administrator.

Asus Zenbook Prime SSD Partitions - How To Delete And Expand

Jul 2, 2012

I have spent the last couple of days playing around with my new Asus Zenbook Prime (UX31A-DB51). Being that it only has a 128 GB SSD in it, I would like to delete the 10 GB recovery partition (already made a backup ISO using Asus's included AI Recovery software) and expand my main C: partition to take back that 10 GB. There is also a 4 GB Parition on the drive, but I do not know what that is for. Listed below are the four partitions my drive is broken into and the descriptions provided for them in the Disk Management tool.

1) 200 MB - Healthy (EFI System Partition)
2) OS C: 104.92 GB NTFS - Healthy (Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, Primary Partition)
3) 4.00 GB - Healthy (Primary Partition)
4) 10.00 GB Healthy (Recovery Partition)

I have used the Disk Management tool on previous Windows 7 PCs to delete/shrink/expand partitions?what that third partition above would be for and if I can delete it to absorb into my main OS C: partition?Second, the 10.00 GB Recovery Partition does not give me the option to delete/shrink/expand the partition at all? When I right-click on the partition, all it does is popup a Help link. After loading on the essential apps for us (Photoshop Elements 10, Zune, Office Pro 2010, Microsoft Security Essentials, and a few other small apps), We are down to about 60 GB of space remaining, so if there is a way to take back that 10-14 GB, it would come in handy.

Way To Expand Drive Size After "cloning"?

Sep 13, 2012

The title I chose was probably not the best, come to think of it. It isn't so much the resizing part of this process as it is all the rest of it that I seem to be having problems with.Okay, first of all I need to specify that I'm just an average user when it comes to Windows 7 and hardware nitty gritty. to which I am very grateful. And here I am again, hat in one hand and a problem in the other. Here's the situation: I have a laptop whose hard drive I've outgrown, so I bought a larger one for the machine. I also bought a USB-based enclosure so I'd be able to have the drives share data. I installed the new drive into the laptop, and put the old one in the enclosure. The old drive is 160 gigs in size with only about 3 gigs open. The new one is 500 gigs.

I used Clonezilla to clone the 160 to the 500. This worked perfectly. But I wound up with a new drive that still only had 3 gigs open. There were about 340 gigs left unallocated. So I used another Linux-based utility -- Parted Magic -- to reclaim the unallocated space.Okay, I need to back up for a second. The old drive has two partitions, call them C and D. The D partition is fairly small -- about 10 gigs.So Clonezilla cloned both partitions at their original sizes, but the funny thing was, it set the D partition ahead of the C partition. When I picture the graphic display that I get with a disk partition program, in my experience, the left most partition is the root partition, or "C". But for some reason, Clonezilla put D there, and C to the right of it. Well, I thought it probably doesn't matter because the OS can boot from other than the root partition -- or whatever it's proper term is -- from what I understand. So I expanded both in Parted Magic to take up all the unallocated space. Then I ran it and everything was set.

Went to boot the computer and no go. It couldn't find the boot sector or whatever. I didn't write down the error message so I don't recall the precise wording, but that is essentially what it was telling me. So I booted Parted Magic again, and took a look. Well, the "C" drive had the "boot" flag set, so I didn't really understand what the problem was other than it being out of place. So this time I deleted the D partition so that C was the only one and moved C down to take up D's space. Linux is assigning each of these partitions a name or descriptor, like sba1 and sba2. Well, D got the sba1 and C got the sba2. When I deleted D, C's descriptor didn't change. It's still sba2. I dunno if this will matter or not.Right now, I'm waiting for PM to finish moving the data as the C partition is expanded. Got another hour or so to go before it's done. I guess I'll find out if my workaround has worked.

My object was to transfer all the data from the old disk to the new, and to be able to access all the space in the new drive (duh). I also wanted C and D partitions. After the moving and expansion of C has been completed, there will be about 275 gigs of unallocated space left. My thinking is that if my latest attempt is successful, I'll go back and configure the unallocated space as D and then copy D's data off the old drive onto the new.So anyway, the point of this long-winded post is to ask the all-knowing forum mind how I should have done it and whether what I'm doing now will work. So the next time I can avoid the hours I've spent spinning my wheels. If I have to start all over, I'm prepared to do that, but before I do, I would like to find a way to "clone" the old drive (probably not the best word choice) AND expand the two directories at the same time. Clonezilla did not allow for this, near as I can determine, so I'm wondering which other Linux-based utility I can use? I've got a couple of disks of Linux utilities, and for all I know I might have one of them already. From what I've recently read there's also a Windows 7 Disk Management Tool that can do the resizing? I'm not at all familiar with it.

Installing Windows 7 Won't Expand Windows Files And Then Error

Nov 4, 2012

it's good to join you. Now i have very big problem. So i bought new motherboard (3 days ago) and installed all parts: cpu, 2 HDD's (160GB sata and 250GB ide) + ODD and that's all. Then, how ussualy i plugged power cable to motherboard. Everything is connected good. I turn power on-> insert Win7 home premium x64 CD -> boot -> start to install -> format and create 2 partitions (1 partition for 1 HDD) -> press that windows will be installed on 160 GB HDD -> windows loads files and when start expanding it goes slow. Few times (maybe 2 of all) it reached 60% but more than 25% - never. What i see and what happens: I see blue screen with information that i must disable antivirus and so on. In the end of the page i see that something is stopped (but now i cant write what because i can't see).

When i try to install win xp, it seems like everything is OK. Oh i forgot to say that i tested and wiped my HDD's with hirens bootable cd.

Motherboard: ASRock g41m-s3
Hdd: 160 and 250 Gb
Ram: PATRIOT DDR3 1333 MHz
