View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter reinstalling Windows 7, I've never been able to play a single video game on my computer (really defeating the purpose of an Alienware). When I try to run Unreal Tournament 2004, the error message reads CRITICAL ERROR: Please enable Direct3D acceleration. You can do this by starting dxdiag and enabling it in Display tab after installing DirectX 8.1b (or later) and latest drivers. Woohoo. So I went to dxdiag, and it says that DirectDraw Acce;, Direct3D Accel, and AGP Texture Accel are all disabled. I went to see what the graphics card is, because I forget...and Windows can't even tell me what card it is. I have no clue. Also, I can't even use the ethernet port on the computer to hard wire a internet connection; I have to use my wireless usb plug in from Netgear.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed windows 7 (build 7000) on my older dell inspiron 700m. Everything has been running smoothly except for what i believe is a video driver problem. My screen max res. is 1280x800 but it's limiting me to 1024x768 right now. I also can't do things like screen-savers, because when I try to enable them, instead of the preview, i get a message saying that it isn't compatible with Direct3D. I went to the dell website and looked around for the newest driver.
On my system info page, it says that I'm using a standard VGA graphics display.
I didn't have this problem on XP SP3
Any help would be great.
just installed windows 7 ultimate because my old hardrive packed up on me, and now i find that my direct3d- directdraw-& agp acceleration are not available, can anyone advise me on how to enable them. enable & disable function not listed in my directx display.
View 8 Replies View Related[code] Lately my DirectX 11 disables itself. I have to reboot to fix it. The last time it happened Aero was still working. I turned off Aero and turned it on again and it doesn't work. In dxdiag, DirectDraw, Direct3D, and Texture all are disabled. DDI Version also shows as Unknown. I restarted and all is fine. I have had Windows 7 for about a month now and this has only happened the past 1-2 weeks. My ATI drivers are from Asus and are 8.703.Is there any other information I should look for and post?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently reinstalled Windows 7 (32-bit Ultimate). It seems there is some problem with 3D stuff on any OS I try. After the setup, when it was checking the video performance it crashed as well. And now every time I try to run that program which gives you system's rating in Windows 7 it crashes within a few seconds (on Running Direct3D Aero Assessment). If I try to play any games it crashes almost immediately as well but other than that everything seems to be working perfectly fine. I can watch movies and browse the internet on Chrome for hours (weirdly it crashes on Firefox after some time...) I had the same problem on Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and Windows Vista Home Premium x32 as well... And all Event Viewer is showing is that ID 41 Error which doesn't really tell anything. :/ Before all these Vista and Windows 7 installations I used Windows XP and it seemed to be working pretty good but it would crash on certain games too.
I've tried changing back to XP but everytime I try to install it I get a BSOD telling me to run checkdisk (I've used 2 different CDs to try and install it because I thought maybe some files on my CD were corrupt or something but I got the same BSOD). I ran chkdsk and it didn't find any problems. I'm not really good with computers scomputer specs:Intel Core Duo 2.20GhzATI Mobility Radeon HD 45704GB RAMWindows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit
I am using the intel i7 2600k processor with the built-in hd3000 video. I tried playing Mass Effect 2 and got an error saying Direct3D could not be accessed because youy computer is locked. I am running directx 11 according to my dxdiag run, run i believe hd3000 does not support this. Is there a way to downgrade to a lower version of directx or fix this issues another way?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently changed my hardware acceleration and lowered it to the lowest option. Now I want to change it back to the original settings that it was on, how can I achieve that?
When I go back to screen resolution->advanced settings->trouble shoot the change settings button is not clickable, so therefore I cannot change the settings.
If there aren't any possible ways, is there any way I can just put my laptop screen back to default settings any thoughts?
Can someone explain mouse acceleration to me?As a gamer many people complain about it. I have been gaming for years and especially on first person shooters.I have never had a problem aiming
