My question is simple, I want to disable internet access in a Windows 7 Home Premium x64bit administrator account (having admin rights of course), but directly from the OS itselft and without having to resort to third party programs or even Win 7 default Firewall.
At first I thought this would be easy but Im still completely lost, I have tried searching for possible solutions like blocking port 80 from the hosts file, or disabling tcpip from the registry but no luck.
[code] I never had this issue on Windows Vista, occasionally my internet will randomly dropout. Limited Internet Access". When it does I can do a few things to get it working again:
- Disable, then enable my wireless card and reconnect. - Uninstall the card, then re-install and reconnect. - Disconnect from the internet myself and reconnect.
Either way it gets super frustrating. There is 1 other computer plugged directly into the router that does not experience any issues. In addition, I have 1 laptop (windows 7) that works great and 1 laptop (Windows XP) which works great.
Is it possible to switch on an option to limit or prevent IE from accessing the registry to read information.Or are there applications out there that can interfere with IE's ability to read the registry?
Is there a way that I can hide or disable the access to the services.msc in windows 7?the account is under admin and is the only account on the computer. The reason for this is the shared computer that I someone keeps turning off my remote access for teamviewer, bluetooth and other important services.
Ease of Access Center - Add or Remove from Logon Screen.I search a long time for a solution to disable the "Ease of Access" Button on the login screen on Windows 7 _x86 and _x64. I found a solution, but this was only for the x86 version of Windows 7. If you use this version on a _x64 machine, the login screen remains black.Microsoft did not include the function to disable the "Ease of Access" button on the login screen and this can be very dangerous within a multi user environment. This button is hard coded within the login UI. Therefore no regkey or something else is available to disable it.Out of this case I patched the authui.dll. This dll is responsible for the login screen and the shitty button.I made two ready pachted dll files. One for the x86 and one for the x64 operating system of Windows 7. The version of the files are from the original Windows 7 DVD and the version Nr. of the dll's are: 6.1.7600.16385. You can use this files on every language version of Windows 7 because this files are language independent. What was made - if you want to do it with your files by yourself:
1. Download Resource Turner (the version 1.99 can only handle x86 files!) or use Restorator 2007 Patch
2. This version can handle both x86 and x64 files.Open it any you will see 4 entries within the UIFILE section.
3 xml files (12400, 12401, 12402) and 1 txt file (14000)
When my computer says Internet Access, I am having trouble browsing. Most pages do not load.Right now, It says no internet access for over 15 minutes and I am able to brose so much better and still going on downloading around 400 kb/s.(I am on a wired connection from a cable internet with NetGear CGD24G Cable Modem (I don't think it is a wireless router). There is wireless connection on the modem, but I am on a wired connection, and I am posting this while it still says no internet access).
anyway, after charging it up and turning it on, i started to install programmes and other bits and bobs. e.g ituens, flash player. just the usual essentials. i used the laptop to watch videos on Internet, genenral browing such as facebook, so in short, the internet was working fine. just before i went to bed that night i installed avg security (free version) and ran a full scan. when the scan finished, i put the laptop into hibernate, and went to sleep! happy in the knowledge my new gizmo was running smoothly!
just before i woke up i heard the laptop turn off as it had run out of charge. so i plugged it in and charged it up, then turned it on. this is where the problem starts...i connected via wifi however the logo at the bottom right of the screen showed the signal strength meter on empty, with a yellow star covering it. i clicked the icon, and it said, 'not connected, connections are available' and below shows im connected with 5/5 signal strength, but on 'limited access'.
1) there might be a problem with the driver for the local area connection adapter
2)there might be a problem with the driver for the wireless network connection adapter
there are 28 updates, but im unable to update them as i have no internet connection. i also cant connect via the ethernet cable.i cant roll back the drivers as there are no previously installed ones, and i cant update them as i am already up to date.my other laptop (acer aspire 5630 running on vista) works perfectly fine using wifi and the ethernet cable, so i honestly dont know whats wrong. after reading things on my acer about ways to fix the problem i came to the decision to restore the laptop to the time of my first installation which was adobe flash player (which i installed the day before.) i was unable to do a full factory reset as the only options available are to either restore to a backup, or re-install windows (which requires a disc, which i dont have). i also didnt configure a backup as i had only had the laptop a day!
I have a Dell Inspiron N5110, Intel core 3 processor, and Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit os. I have recently reinstalled windows 7 from the windows 8 os. I can't access my wireless internet, I can only get to the internet via hard wire. I have searched Dell and Intel for the network controller driver and the sm bus controller driver, but to no avail.
Recently, a "Limited Access" signal has been coming up beside my internet access signal, even though it's got full access and the wireless connection is fine .
laptop so I reformatted his laptop and when I try to to connect to the internet via WiFi I could connect but I would have limited access. I can connect to the internet with my old laptop, iphone and xbox. But I cant connect to my newly reformatted laptop
For security reasons, I want to turn my Internet connection via my Netgear router on and off, as I like.In Windows XP it was eay. I could pull out a LAN icon from the Network connection section in the Control Panel to the desktop. Then all I needed was to click it and choose to disable/enable the Internet connection.I could also disable it from the tray icon and enable it from the LAN icon.In Windows 7 I don't find such a possibility. It is in the Internet all the time, or if I disable it, it is complicated to enable it again...
I currently am forced to have to use public computers where all the security is on the lowest security options ergo meaning there is a warning stating: "to not expect any privacy, and therefore any information used or stored on library computers may be accessed by others."All of these are unadvisable, as I used to run corporations where we were adament in regards to protecting the privacy and rights of others. How with their being a warning "I do not have access to administrative details," can I disable all network connections, as well as disabling the internet to guard my privacy? The system I am speaking of is known as "CASSIE," and previous to the city over seeing all aspects of IT, I had no problems. Now essays have been changed, I have had pertinent details, i.e. how to pass the bar, mastering the essay portion of the bar.... and all of these have been erased from my USB's along with many other pertinent files.

I am looking for ways how to disable the internet connection without interfering the LAN/Network. So i found the solution by putting the wrong default gateway and DNS. But when you check on the automatic obtain IP address and DNS, internet can be accessed again. And when i used and administrator to limit the user's privilege, there are certain programs that are disabled. how can i totally remove internet access?
I usually have about half dozen IE windows opened at anytime. I might start a few more and then close a couples. But eventually I notice one or two if the IE processes start to use up several hundred MB ram up to eventually 1GB ram. When one of the IE processes hit the 1 GB ram mark, it's inevitable that one of the IE windows then stop functioning, as clicking the link you don't get any page loading. If I then shut down that process, then everything works again.
Once in a while, I notice that one of the IE process would reach high ram usage of hundred MB ram and the screen saver would stop coming on as well as the power setting for turning off screen would be disabled. This is even if there's no IE process running a video at that time. It's possible that I might have open IE to say view a video before but I know I close that IE process and yet this still happens. If I go and shut down all the IE processes that seem to take a lot of mem, then screen saver comes on again. I imagine that this also affects other browsers as well?
The wireless is one I share with my roommates and is fast. The wired NIC connects to a router which has slower internet. The reason I connect to the wired router is so my PC can talk to a linux machine, which I use for some data downloading/analysis.I want to disable internet from the wired connection but keep the ability to talk to other machines on the wired network. I just changed the IPv4 settings and deleted the DNS server information. Is this the best way to do so? I want the wireless to provide internet.
When I turn on my laptop after loading all the antivirus, charger , volume, and other i dont know programs, internet explorer automatically opens a website My problem= no problemBUT Im mad because it feels not organize or, not as like before, turn on load all the programs and go.
i have mozilla firefox and internet explorer on my computer. when i turn on my computer or log in everytime the internet explorer opens automatically.. how do i get that to stop happening?
Im not sure if anyone else has had this problem or noticed it, but I have enabled the GPO prevent users from adding files to the root of thier users files folder on our network as we use folder re-directs to my documents which in theory should keep everything tidy. This works up until a point, if I try and browse to the location and create a file I cant. If I try and drag a file into that location I cant, but as soon as I try to save as it lets me
i'm trying to connect 2 laptops via ad hoc so that i could share the internet the server computer is a xp sp 2, the client is the default 7 starter of my laptop.the ad hoc seems to be fine, and i can share files between them, but win 7 can not access the internet and says "no internet access"
For some reason my hp notebook will not connect to the internet, its just stopped working recently and I cant seem to find the problem. It says I have signal to my router. When I open the browser it says I am not connected, if I try and run the connection wizard/ diagnosis it says an error occured while troubleshooting an unexpected error has occurred, the troubleshooting wizard can't continue.
This is a problem that has probably been solved but I have spent some time looking for the solution without success.
Windows 7 (6.1.7100 build 7100) indicates that I have no Internet connection in spite of the fact that I can browse without any problems (see attached image).
Mostly this is not a problem except that I want to connect to an external server to upload files. Normally I use map network drive for this. When I attempt this, I fail because it doesn't see the Internet connection.
I have tried the following solutions which haven't worked Disabling link scanning in AVG Disabling all other network connections
