I have followed the threads provided in this forum but am unable to print to the 1200. The printer is connected via a USB port. The printer/USB port is recognized as USB printing support. I have previously loaded the HP laserjet 1200 PCL5 driver and have now tried loading the HP Universal Printing PCL6 driver. In both situations the printer driver is seen under the printers/fax (in the Devices/Printers page) as either the Laserjet 1200 PCL5 or the HP PCL6.

I have a PC running XP, with HP LaserJet 1015 plugged in. Printer is shared on a network.
My laptop is running on Windows 7 Ultimate RC, and I have a problem with installing this printer. Whenever I try add a printer it says:"Windows cannot connect to a printer.
Operation failed with error 0x0000046a."
I've googled through several forums and Microsoft support and I'm doing it for a while now with no success... I'm becoming desperate...
In case of emergency I can print on my other computer but I want to print via my laptop.

She can print to the 2820 printer wirelessly, but not scan: the scan options do not appear in her driver software, when she is connected wirelessly.If she picks up her computer, crosses the room with it, and plugs the printer USB cable into the side of her Compaq laptop, then opens the printer software, the scan options are available and she can scan direct to her PC.Can we arrange it so that she can use the scanner functions wirelessly?

I can see then printer when browsing network for printer but Windows insists on searching Windows Update, striking out and when browsing for other files I can't get any other HP *.inf files (both 32 & 64bit) I downloaded to take without crashing with errors. I connected the printer directly to my PC with a USB cable and Windows instantly recognized it and installed a driver for it. But still can't connect with it's hooked up on another workstation. Yes, it's set up for sharing on the other network PC.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an old HP Server that I use at home it has XP 32bit loaded on it & shares across the network an "HP Laserjet 1220" printer, i have just installed Windows 7 on my gaming PC & laptop both 64bit versions, both of these machines are unable to connect to the shared printer, they can see it on the network but have trouble loading the drivers.
This printer does not need drivers for XP, Vista, Win7, if I connect the printer directly to my gaming pc running 64bit 7, drivers are installed automatically, same with the laptop, and print with no problems. When i try & connect to the printer over the network to the HP 32bit xp server the 64bit 7 machines come up with a box saying 'loading driver, then 'connecting to windows update', then 'error no driver found', even after having the printer drivers installed & working when machine was connected directly to printer by parallel & USB.
I then installed 32bit 7 on a spare PC i had around, shared printer on this PC via parallel & this worked fine, the 64bit machines connected & worked great. I then plugged the printer back into the 32bit xp server & tried to connect printer on 64bit 7 machines again, the 64bit laptop connected loaded drivers & straight away & worked ok, jumped onto my gaming PC to repeat the process but failed & come with with the same error from the beginning 'Loading drivers, connecting to windows update this may take some time, error driver not found.
It then asks me to enter correct drivers, but drivers for Vista 32or64bit & 7 32or64bit are not at the HP website for this printer, as the drivers are part of the XP, Vista & 7 CD/DVD. I don't know why the laptop is working & my PC is not, both have a clean build of Windows 7 64bit, looks as if the xp 32bit server is handing out 32bit drivers over the network to the 2 windows 7 64bit machines, even though both 7 machines have the correct drivers already installed. Also tried to connect via 'start..run...then PCNAMEPRINTERNAME, just comes up with error connecting to printer.

All I know is that it isn't my log in password, my laptop's log in password, or my friends laptop password.

Windows reports 'No connections are available' and Occasionally jumps to 'identifying network' then back to 'No connections are available' until it gets a connection. Once connected everything works perfectly until i reboot the machine. The network connection is fine as other computers can connect quickly without problems through the same cable.

So I go in the list of networks, click "Other Network" and type in my SSID. It says it's connecting but then it says there was a problem connecting. Whenever I go to load a page, it tells me the dns cannot be found, which is strange because vuze and xbox live still work fine.I have this issue with any browser I've tried (IE, FF, GC; all most recent as far as I'm aware). I've tried restarting my router, adjusting the connection settings, winsock reset, reconnecting, and none of it seems to help.

View 4 Replies View RelatedOriginally, i had one network running under a Dir-665 router where all the computers under that could connect to the printer (HPPrintPC) on the computer (which is connected to the router.After moving to uverse, i have two networks, the one above and now the 2wire network due to uverse.The computer with the printer is connected to the 2wire network, and all the other computers are connected to the Dir-655 network. The computers on the Dir-655 Network can't connect to the printer on the 2wire network but can ping the computer it is connected to.

I also have a BluRay player connected via Ethernet cable to my gateway (cable modem + router), but I cannot see it (I can play Netflix movies on it, though). How can I add the BluRay to my homegroup so that I can play music from my computer to it (or rather to my amplifier via the BluRay)?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have 3 computers all running 64bit Windows Home premium all have 802.11n cards. 2 have no problem connecting to the wireless network the 3rd can see the network but won't connect or has the dreaded yellow exclamation mark with limited connectivity.
This seems to be a windows issue but not sure. When I look at the wireless profile in windows it says the security is WEP but the router is set up as WPA-2. I have tried changing the setting in Windows to WPA-2 but that then generates another error in the network discovery window saying the settings are not correct or something to that effect.
1) I have reinstalled the driver didn't work.
2) I have removed the security altogether didn't work.
3) reset the router didn't work (Although as stated earlier the other 2 computers connect with no problems)
4) Deleted wireless profile and started again didn't work.
The following worked untill I restarted the computer but would not after that even if I applied the same steps.
1) Assigned a static IP - This worked but once I restarted the computer it would no longer connect. Tired different IP address from 192.168.1-149. No joy
2)Copied the network profile from both the other machines same result as #1.
I have been using windows 7 pto and xp pro on my laptop and desktop respectively. It was connected in same network from very beginning. I was in same workgroup. But as I reformatted my laptop cpl of days back I needed to connect it again with my xp desktop. since then I am not able to do so. Have been tried almost everything. I am in a same workgroup also have run the network wizard from xp. But nothing working. But just few hours ago i uninstalled few drivers (IPv6 related , not sure) while trying to connect from device manager.

I have tried going into the 'network and sharing center' and connecting manually but no dice.
