View 9 Replies View RelatedFirst of all, I am very computer and Windows 7 savvy, but this issue has me stumped. My normal inclination is to just clean install, but I really would like to figure out what is going on.My system's Internet seems to just stop working after some time, ranging from a few hours to a day. Rebooting normally fixes it. Sometimes it slowly stops working by sometimes not connecting to hosts or sometimes sites will load but images will not. It's very strange. I have disabled Windows Firewall and don't run anything else. Background tasks are at a bare minimum, and Spybot, Windows Defender, MalwareBytes, and Super Anti-Spyware all report the system is clean. The HOSTS file is also clean. I have also set up the NIC to use OpenDNS.
When Internet dies, in Google Chrome 14, IE 9, or Firefox 6, the browser will give me a "cannot connect" page, but in Command Prompt, I can ping both the domain name, or the IP address successfully. I can also successfully perform a traceroute on the domain, but back to the browser, it will continue to give me "can't connect" messages. Since I can ping the domain, it doesn't seem like DNS issues. Because all browsers do it, it doesn't seem like a browser cache issue (I have cleared them).Sometimes, I can keep hitting F5 to refresh and after a dozen or so attempts, the page will load, but the next attempt will not.I don't think it is an ISP issue because it will happen on this system connected to any of several WiFi access points, or connected with my Sprint Mobile Broadband card. Other computers on the network have no issue
For the past few months I've been having an issue where every 15-30 minutes my laptop will "stall" while browsing the web. I'll get a "waiting for [URL], etc message at the bottom left corner of the browser when it's stalling until it eventually times out and tells me it can't load the page. This issue occurs with every browser I try (IE, Chrome, Firefox). After a couple minutes, everything comes back to normal and I can continue wasting time on the internet until the next hiccup.
My set up is:
A Gateway NV57H58U Intel Core i5-2430M
Windows 7
Comcast digital cable
A Belkin Wireless router
A PS3
At first I assumed it was the router since it's a couple years old and was cheap when I bought it back then. The only thing that makes me think differently is that when I'm using the PS3 I never experience a break in connection. I can play a game online for 3-4 hours without any crashes or stutters. Also, while the internet is stalling out there is never a disconnect from the router - it always says it's connected and the signal strength is always "Excellent."
fixing the BSOD. It would occur while browsing internet. Recently I upgraded my RAM to GSkill 8GB (2x4gb) and it seems to occur more frequently. With my previous factory installed ram it would occur only occasionally 2 or 3 times per month.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Marvel Yukon ethernet controller, which is a wired connection only a few feet from socket. For some reason I lose connection at random times? I need to reboot to fix this. In event viewer there is the following:
"Yukonw7 Event 101 Driver status 1".
I am running the latest Marvel drivers by the way.
A month or so ago I started having the occassional problem with Blue Screens. There does not seem to be a specific time in which they come up it just seems to happen randomly. As of late it has been happening much more frequently. Also, though my menu bar says I have wireless access I constantly get the "Can not connect to a network" error message. I cannot click on the view networks options from the menu bar or from the control panel even though every other option in the control panel works fine. I have tried troubleshooting my internet connectiong and nothing ever comes up. I am using Google Chrome. I am currently running my laptop on safemode with networking in order to post on this site.[CODE]
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been having this problem for some time but lately it is getting worse crashing 4-5 times a day and 3 times in the last hour.
i hope i have uploaded the right files.
I've just got a brand new laptop (Sony Vaio). I'm trying to connect to the internet through my existing home wireless network which a Macbook, Macbook Air, Toshiba Windows 7 laptop and iMac in the house can all connect to and access no problems.I've got an ADSL modem set up in bridge mode and an Airport Extreme as router and wireless access point.I can connect to the router fine. I am assigned an IP address fine. When I open a browser window the internet is very slow or times out. When I ping the router it usually times out or I get a very high ping.I've tried so many things to fix it I'm getting desperate! including:
-Disabled and uninstalled firewall and security software
-Changed wireless channels
-Disabled Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter
-Setup a static ip and specified dns server
my internet stops working for ~30 seconds multiple times a day. I am using Time Warner Cable with a Motorla SBG6580 modem and Asus RTN56U router and a wired connection. When it drops the internet access icon in the bottom right doesn't change (no yellow exclamation point) and sometimes when I run the troubleshoot internet connections it will come back with "the DNS server isn't responding. The other computers in my house don't seem to have the problem. My computer uses a wired connection and am running Windows 7.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to install windows on this computer for over a day now, I used to own an MSI board and decided to upgrade to an ASUS m4a89td PRO/USB3 for a raid 0 and crossfire combo. Beforehand, I had windows 7 pro 64 bit installed just fine, playing games and running smoothly. I remember windows being stubborn to install at first, but I was able to figure it out using google and installing raid/mobo drivers.THIS TIME, I am unfortunate to be cursed by windows once again. The windows 7 64 bit install freezes at random intervals... either at the very beginning and at expanding windows files(0%), NOTE. Bios does not freeze.I've tried many things posted on the internet without success... here are the things I have tried.
-burned 5+ discs ranging from 1x - 4x on different media, dual layer virbatim and single layer ritadek dvds
-took out all useless componenets such as my extra video card, ram, sound card, extra drives etc
-tried to install windows on a single hard drive without the raid
-unplugged all usb devices
-loaded raid drivers from the chipset driver downloaded from the asus website
-leaving the install run (frozen) overnight to see if it would magically unfreeze and finish
-turned off a bunch of features in the bios. alot of them made my system unbootable?
-switched dvd burner/reader drive for burning and reading
here are my hardware specs:
1090t 6core processor
4gb x2 CORSAIR 1333MHZ ram
ASUS m4a89td PRO/USB3
700 watt OCZ power supply
2x radeon 5770 HD VAPOR-X video card
LG dual dvd burner

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe laptop is a Dell Inspiron 1420 running Windows Vista Home. When I turn on the laptop, the computer boots up and then goes to a menu where I can either choose to Start Windows Normally, or Begin Start Up Repair. Both of these options cause the computer to load for a few moments, and then it BSODs, with the error unmountable_Boot_Volume.I then tried to boot the computer off the Windows Vista install disk. It goes through Loading Windows Files, and then it begins loading Windows, and then it BSODs with the error Page_Fault_In_Nonpaged_Area. I am now stuck with what to do.Also loading the computer in safe mode also reults in a BSOD.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIm currently running windows 7 32 bit on a 150Gb SATA drive and want to upgrade to a larger SATA 2 drive to utilise the motherboards potential. Im also looking to upgrade my memory as 32 bit doesnt support anything more than 4Gb. Ive searched most forums and found that i do need to carry out a clean install, but is there a way to create a system image from the 32 bit and only restore the programs and settings that i require. Im not looking forward to re-installing all programs from scratch unless i absolutely have to. Im also worried that even if i cant restore programs that all my settings wont be recovered. I am planning on still keeping my existing hard drive as a slave and use for backup, so before i format this i will still have access to all my information.
