I have a Dell Dimension 5150 which runs XP Home and is 3 years old. I pre-ordered Windows 7 but the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor says my onboard graphics adapter won't support the Windows Aero User Interface. I don't play games on my PC but I would like all the fancy visual features of Windows 7. How do I go about choosing a graphics card that will do the job for me?
I updated my Dell to Windows 7 last night and I realized that I don't have any sound drivers or cards. I have been Googling for about 3 hours now without any luck.

I have a DELL D410 ultra portable laptop with a the famous Intel 915GM video adapter. Windows 7 recognize it and I am able to install the driver that I found in the INF folder. But after a restart I have 2 unrecognized VGA adapters.
It's really amazing because after driver installation, everything seems working, except may be aero that it is not supported by this adapter. But in device manager I have remarked that the driver is marked for uninstall which I never requested. Why Windows 7 wants to uninstall a device by its own while this one is working correctly?

Have gone onto numerous websites and goggled everything but everything i download seems to say not suitable for this hardware or something along those lines?

I have a Dell XPS M1530 which came pre-installed with Windows Vista. When i upgraded a couple of days ago to Windows 7, most of my video games stopped working giving me errors that, after i looked them up, refer to problems with the graphics. I looked up solutions and most said to get the most recent driver.
I tried automatically updating the driver for my graphics card through the device manager, but it said i already have the best/most recent driver installed. My question is: How do i find out which graphics card i actually have (currently it says i have a Standard VGA Graphics Adapter), and where can i find the driver for it to get my games to work. Also, my report from the directx diagnostic tool returns the following (if this helps).

I have a Dell n5110 i5(intel HD 3000 graphics),that I bought last year to assist me with my studies. I didn't care much about the graphics when I purchased it.I'm not a hardcore gamer, but I read that I should have bought a laptop with a better card graphics if I was to play the latest games.Of all the games I would have liked to play GTA 4. I know its not possible with what I have. I intend to have it with me for a longtime even if I don't get to play the latest games(I can play older ones like Hitman blood money).I'm curious, since I haven't found the answer elsewhere, whether it is possible to have a gaming card graphics added one day for the model of laptop I have.
