View 1 Replies View RelatedFollow this thread from the W8 Forum,Works fine for me (and some others). I'm using W8 X-64 and the 64 bit version of VLC (2.0.5). Windows 8 blu ray player FREE,Same should work on Windows 7 -- can't see any reason why not (although I haven't actually tested it yet on Windows 7). If it doesn't work - I'm only trying to provide some info here for you -- VLC usually works for anything I've ever thrown at it.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust an hour back, I stumbled upon this FreeSmith Free Video Player, that said it can play 200+ blu-ray movie disks. FreeSmith Video Player -- Free All-in-one media player Support Different Media Types Audio, Video, DVD, Blu-ray, all can be played smoothly with the smart FreeSmith video player. It supports almost all popular audio and video formats by default, including MKV, AVI, MP4, MPEG, FLV, WMV, HD and more. Besides, it offers you convenience to play DVD and blu-ray discs.
When the 8MB download completed, Windows 7 said that this type of file is not normally downloaded and can cause harm. But Softpedia had certified that it is free of any malware. ( I normally do not care for these warnings, smug in the fact that I can always restore my system in the event of any mishap and try all software but some people do take it seriously.)
OK, I played Night at the Museum 2 briefly and it did play the BD. ( My computer did not crash )So anyone wanting a free Blu-ray player can try this out.
But let me say, sooner or later you would like to changeover to the regular blu-ray software players which are a class apart. These freeware playerss can only be fillers.
if I can sync my ipod on Windows 7 Media player.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI wanted to ask if it is possible to set Windows media player to open as the default player inside media center. The reason that I ask this is that I find media center sound is very low quality. I am using it inside windows 7 ultimate X64. I also use Media Browser and have set it to use media player as an external player but it loses some functionality after something is played I have to restart media center and media Browser to play anything again because it will go back to menus but not play anything untill

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have just bought a new Ivy bridge PC with a blu ray drive. I thought that it would be simply a matter of inserting the film blu ray and the same would run. However I believe that windows 7 does not support blu ray play function.in getting software which runs blu ray discs. If anyone has any experience of running such software, your comments will be gratefully received

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm a new Windows 7 user. I have a Coby 1GB mp3 player that I've been using as a thumb drive for years since the buttons on it broke off. I've put all kinds of files on it from documents to picture files. Yesterday I brought home my new netbook running Windows 7 Starter.. I took the mp3 player and plugged it in the USB port. Windows 7 recognized it with no problem.. but to my surprise, it doesn't show the files on it. So I tried to put files on it.. and it doesn't seem to allow anything but music files (MP3's) to be put on it. It's very odd because my Windows XP desktop computer allowed me to use it as a basic thumb drive and it accepted all types of files to be put on it.. not just MP3s.Is there a setting on Windows 7 that would allow me to use the MP3 player like a regular USB flash drive as I did on my XP system?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA file called wmpntwrk.exe is consistently using 2.5GB of RAM and runs constantly, slowing down my computer. This is Windows Media Player. Norton frequently gives me an error message saying that 'Windows Media Player Network Sharing Device has high CPU usage' or something to that effect. It is running as a process the entire time my computer is switched on, regardless of whether or not I am using this program.
View 1 Replies View Relatedanyone knows if we can install WMP 10 on 7 x64?I really hate WMP 11 behaviors, I want it to be maximized at all, when opening it, it re-sizes itself to the size of media being played. Some times, it won't open media files and after a while says: "server execution failed".I have to re-open the media and it will open this time!Any Media Library, I hate it, I don't want WMP to be opened always in Library mode, I want it always in Now Playing mode.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMedia player won't rip CD's. When you go to options, Rip Music, there is no default location shown for the file. When you click "Channge Location", nothing happens. So I can't rip CD's in my version of Windows 7.
Would Windows 8 fix this or is there another fix I can use?
