View 4 RepliesFor the past few days, I have been on a intermittent wireless connection. Under the wireless network icon, there's an ! mark, I tried to solve it using Microsoft diagnosis, but it didn't work. I switched off Microsoft Miniport Adapter too, didn't work as well. I Pinged my own connection using Command Prompt and the results were fine. For a limited random number of sites, I am still able to access. I tried Torrenting and it still works too.

I enabled wifi sharing on it ( control panel ->network and sharing->wireless networks->properties etc etc.) , to connect and use it on the 7 one. ps. i've downloaded the latest drivers for my graphics card.

upgraded to an Intel i5 2400 CPU with ASRock P67 PRO motherboard. Everything went well, Windows found everything and installed the drivers fine apart from one.
In the System there is a Canon LIDE scanner which shows as a CanoScan with the yellow exclamation mark. Also Devices and Printers it shows up but with the yellow exclamation mark. Have reinstalled the supplied 64bit Canon software for it but still no go. It is USB powered so swapped around the USB cable but still a no go area. Unplugging and reconnecting the scanner makes no difference. I have no idea where Canon places the drivers for this when the set up program installs.Going online Windows finds the driver software but reports back that it has encountered an error while attempting to install it. The software it is tryng to install is CanoScan LiDE 600F.
Windows 7 64bit SP1 - Intel i5 2400 - 128gb SSD - ASROCK P67 PRO 3 - 8GB ram.
After I restart the pc, 9 times out of 10 i get a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark over my network icon. When i go over it, it says I'm connected to the network but i have "no internet access" EVEN THOUGH I'm online and i am able to browse the web and download freely.
I updated my drivers, and still nothing, i also have the latest bios version. I tried asking on a couple other forums but it seems they are a bunch of amateurs...so i came here.
When I enter device manager I see the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller with an orange explanation mark next to it. I need to get drivers for it where can I get them from (windows could not get any). Also im on my newly buily gaming pc on windows professional 64 bit.

Asus says driver is current. AMD High Def audio device is not disabled, should it be? If I disable it would I have sound? I have to listen to 4 hrs of video for work so I have to have sound back up asap.

(Code 28)" on Intel(R) 82801GB/GR (ICH7 Family) LPC Interface Controller - 27B8.I've got a disk with drivers on it and updated the PC with those but I still have this problem.

Even though I have connection to the Internet and my wireless Network is active, the exclamation mark and the accompanying message remain. This morning I have been on the computer for three hours, for example, and I just made the screen shot. This condition has existed on a Toshiba laptop since "day one,' a number of months now.
The icon is of no value, if it doesn't change to "connected" when appropriate.
On the bottom right of the desktop on Windows 76, the notification icon for internet usually shows the disconnected icon or the no access icon. I'm still connected to the internet though and when I click on the icon, it opens up to show my connection (that is working). Why is it doing this? I've tried googling it, no use. It's not really a big deal, but knowing if I'm connected without having to click on the icon is nice.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am using a nokia E66 to connect to the internet at home. My pc at home is running windows 7 home premium 64 bit. I am currently using nokia pc suite 7.1.40.1. All the software installed without any problems. The problem that I am having is that after I connect to the internet, I can only roughly download / upload about 5MB of data and the connection will time out. I do not get any error messages that is did timeout. The only way I know this is that I stop seeing data being transferred in Network properties.
I then open my e-mail client to see If I can connect with a POP account and then I get an error saying it could not connect to the e-mail account. I then have to disconnect and reconnect and try again. This does not seem to affect web browsing though, only when I am downloading files. Like Steam will start update and stop, windows updates will start download and stop and so on.
I initially thought it was a problem with the network operator, but when I boot back in xp (my pc is set up to dual boot between xp and 7) every thing works fine. No download time outs. Is it the nokia software that is not supporting 7 100% yet or am I missing something else?
i had downloaded an software by which every icon has change in internet sign and no any programe is running.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have this red X on the connection icon in the tray but everything "appears" to be OK. Nothing is showing wrong I can find and i can surf the web just fine. One other thing that may or may not be related is Thunderbird doesn't seem to want to download my email from Gmail. I open TB and I have a blank inbox, with the spinning working thing next to "Inbox" at the top of the tab. Does not retrieve email from Gmail and if i select a local folder for email the spinning working thingy goes away.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have AT&T U-Verse with a 2Wire (3801 HGV) router. I've had the service for about a month without any issues. As of now, I am able to connect to the internet using WiFi (via my Wii, iPhone, and Laptop), but when trying to make a WIRED connection (via ethernet cable from the 2wire router directly to the PC), all I get is a yellow icon.
If I unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back it, the blue circle appears for a while, then back to the yellow error icon. In the Network and Sharing Center, I am showing my PC with a broken connection (yellow triangle) to "Unidentified Network with a broken "red X" connection the Internet. I thought maybe it was the ethernet cable, so I tried a wired connection from the router to my laptop (also running Windows 7) and it works just fine, so I've determined it must have something to do with the PC itself.
I've tried doing a system rollback, resetting the router itself, made sure the network driver on the PC was up to date and ran the test to make sure it's working properly.....all with no luck. I've tried using Windows to diagnose the problem and I get "Problems Found: Local Area Connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration". What baffles me is it was working fine up until a few days ago.
Recently, I've re-imaged my computer back to factory settings. I've connected to my home's network, and everything was normal for a few days. And now, I have an odd icon in place of my wireless connection strength. I'm still connected to the internet (as I'm posting this), and I can still browse like normal. There has been some unreliability... Lately I've been monitoring my network usage with Task Manager and I'll go from the normal 1.8%-2.3% to 0% randomly, for random amounts of time. I'm not sure if the other two computers on the network share this problem, but it seems to be more with the connection itself than my laptop. I don't know what this icon is, and even though it doesn't seem to be affecting my wireless performance, I'd like to know what it is and what it means.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve been using Windows 7 since the early builds and am on HP 32bit these days. In the past if i lost internet connection i would get a red cross on the network icon. This would go away once connection was restored. This past week or so this cross keeps appearing. Thing is the connection is fine, no problens what so ever.
no "Clean install" replies, thats way to drastic.
So about right now I feel like throwing this rig off a bridge.
I am simply trying to find my missing icon for the local area connection that goes to my Mb Ethernet . I need to change the ip. It was around before but has gone missing.
I was trying to link up a network computer before and it all went down hill.
I have just installed windows 7 home on my core i5 2500k machine and everything was working fine, but the windows network icon on the task bar shows I have no connection even though I am connected to the internet and everything works fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased the Dell XPS 14z and it has been working fine, however when I take it out to work (where there's no wifi connections) a red 'x' now appears on the wifi icon in the task tray. Usually it just shows an orange star and is essentially 'pending' connections. When I try and use my BlackBerry Bold 9900 to connect using the mobile internet it says that it can't connect as the wifi radio may be off? This hasn't happened before and I've tried everything to troubleshoot it with no luck.
