Downgrade Windows 7 Home-premium 64bit From DX11 To DX10 For Compatibility?
Oct 12, 2010
I want to use Dungeon&Dragons online in 3-Dimensional setup with IT3Z drivers on ATI RAdeon HD5870 graphic card.IT3Z gives a compatibel 3-D output for DX9 and beta DX10. First I got only error messages, but then installed DX9 in addition to DX11.And know I can use the DX9 ITZ version with windows 7.But I want to use the DX10 beta version, too. But I cant find a DX10 for windows7?
i use my old nvidia geforce 9600gt card and i am currently making it run with win vista sp1 x86 ultimate.with the superb reviews of windows7 floating,i am thinking of upgrading my OS to win 7.will i be able to run all my older applications and games requiring dx9 and dx10 on a dx11 based OS?...and will my GPU support dx11(since me not knowing the backward compatibilty)
Hey I just built my new computer and somehow downloaded windows ultimate instead of premium during my code verification. Now I am stuck on Ultimate with only a premium code. Is there a way to downgrade back to premium so I can use my code. And for some reason reinstalling windows will not work, it gives me some error that my files are corrupt but the files are on a disk that i recieved yesterday.
My computer's HDD had died and all data was lost. I gave for fix but windows ultimate was installed instead of home premium and I want to downgrade because its not genuine and I don't have windows installation CD. Is there any possible way of downgrading without clean install and CD?
If you have installed a preview version of Windows 7 Ultimate (e.g. beta, release candidate build 7100 or RTM build 7600) and want to install a cheaper version of Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional the installation is normally refused.
But with change of a registry key whilst installation you can fake a minor version - so you can install Home Premium or Professional over existing Windows 7 Ultimate.
I am unable to install autocad 2010 on my windows 7 home premium 64 bit OS. Every time I try to do I get a msg "The system cannot find the path specified SetupRes/eval.msi.
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit: VPN connects and allows access to network's Unix Server, data entry, etc. However, Outlook 2007 receives but does not send messages, error 8x800ccc78. When the VPN is not connected, messages can be sent (and received).
I am new both here and Windows 7. Having a problem to run Regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx under CMD prompt. An application was installed to a computer with Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. But it could not run correctly telling me that it is comdlg32.ocx error.Under C:WindowsSystem32 after select CMDEnterRegsvr32 comdlg32.ocxand an error message would be shown. No problem to Windows7 Prof 64bit if I select run as Administrator to CMD there.
I have an issue with HDD letters being changed by the operating system. It is highly bothersome that I cant keep each volume letter unchanged so I can identify each one of my 6 hard drives + the Usb drives. I always keep 2 HDD inside the PC tower plus another 4 inside an external enclosure. Additionally I have an external Sabrent USB-DSC5 Hard Drive adapter with one HDD or Optical drive connected to it and the PC.
Is it possible from Windows 7 to set it in such a way that the drives lettering e.g. C E F G H J K etc etc remain linked to each individual HDD? If Windows does not offer that capability how do I solve this need? Is there any known software I could install that deals with this issue and solves it efficiently?

A few days ago,my laptop was working fine..when suddenly it started to hang up..i tried to logoff but it dosent...i waited for 15 min but it didnt respond...then i force shutdown it..when i restarted it,it showed up with BSOD saying "unmountable_boot-volume" and then restarts itself again...it came up with "windows has failed to logon" i selected "Startup Repair" it took 2 days continuously repairing it up...but it goes on for "attempting repairs''...finally.i lost my patience and press cancel..it hanged up again..i restarted my PC it again came up with BSOD again mentioned above. When i tried to run startup repair, this time it wont start...Then i tried to load windows in safe mode,no luck,in safe mood with command prompt to run chkdsk, but i wont load..it stuck up at driver.sys... i got an answer to run tools for checking up my hard drive,i downloaded DFT from Hitachi and run it ...but it wont..it stuck up with a cursor blinking and saying "Loading DFT"...i waited for 2 hrs but nothing happens...Then i ran seagate tools..it runs..check for errors ...it came up with answer : Bad Sectors Found..then i ran up advance test to repair bad sectors..it repaired 2 sectors and then : "Repair Failed Bad Sectors Found.."i was just googling up to see if Bad sectors Can be repaired...i found HDD Regenerator..but i dont know if it can really repair Bad Sectors on my hard drive..
1) should i first go for HDD Regenerator to repair Bad Sectors...
2)Should i backup my data....?
if,i should backup my data first..
1)which software would be the best for backing up data...?
2) should i clone my hard disk or create an image of my hard disk?
I am having a problem. The OS(Windows 7 x64) finishes installing but when it finishes it boots up again like normal then flashes a quick blue screen error message. I have tried doing what the comments told you to do except for downloading the ISO and burning it to a disk. I just get the same error. I have researched this processor and it turns out it has been known to be VERY dodgy with Windows 7 64-bit.
Basically I'm ready to explode. As you know, I'm running Ultimate. I recently decided to upgrade to a 64 bit OS. I purchased a 250 gb harddrive for it. (dualboot 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7) but my ISO file won't boot. I've tried everything. Yes, my PC is 64bit capable.
I bought a notebook preinstalled Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, of course, licensed. But I found it incompatible with some software. So I decided to use 32 bit.I want to format the whole drive and install 32 bit version of W7HP.
In the last two days I have noticed that my laptop is crashing and freezing really often and I would have to hold down the power button down to switch it off, etc. I have used hp support assistant, I don't want to restore factory setting.
Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard Model HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC Total amount of system memory 4.00 GB RAM System type 64-bit operating system Number of processor cores 2
Alright, here are my pc specs first: I5-2310, 8gb Ram, geforce 560 gtx, 450 watt psu. 1.5 tb hdd. I am having an issue where my pc will randomly hang for a second or too, sometimes when something loads sometimes it just does it randomly, its really starting to worry me, I've scanned for viruses, and defragged my hard drive and this has not fixed it. Does it every 30-60 mins on average.
My new laptop with Windows 7 pre-installed Home Premium 64bit, and what I know to Recovery (system image with installed drivers),which is placed in a hidden hard drive partition, you fail to restore the system with the drivers (to factory) .
I was away from my computer on saturday and when i returned it had restarted itself. I don't know if it installed updates or just crashed, i can't find any reccord of updates. Since then i can not open any 32 bit programs.
I can not install anything, when i try i get the error "The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if the windows installer is not correctly installed. contact your support personel for assitance."
I also can not uninstall anyhing, i can inly access uninstall utility in safemode but it still will not let me uninstall anything i've tried running sfc/scannow several times along with chkdsk, both found nothing.
I did a system restore also with no change. Booting into safemode doesn't change anything.
I am running windows 7 64 bit home premium and for some reason 3dmark11 stopped working. The program will not open when I double click on the icon or go into my programs to open it. I uninstalled then reinstalled it and it still does not open. I do not get any error from windows at all, it just won't open. I made sure that windows firewall was allowing the program access to my system as well as making sure norton was allowing the program access to my system. I have no idea what else to check. Why would windows not give me any type of error?
a couple of weeks ago i bought and downloaded a copy of the "systweak advanced system optimizer" and after using it to 'optimize' my system it instead screwed it up big time... now my sound crackles and stutters when i play all media, online or offline, dvds, Internet, games, etc...i've tried the usual methods, such as rolling back drivers, uninstalling all the audio drivers (nvidia and realtek) restarting and letting windows 7 reinstall them, all to no avail my motherboard uses integrated realtek audio sound, i have been using win 7 with no sound issues since early 2010, and now this happens?
I am running Windows 7 home premium 64bit. When the notebook boots up, I get two options: Windows XP Pro 64bit 2003 setup and/or Windows 7. How I could remove the unwanted Windows XP boot? which is the {identifier} of Windows XP Pro 64bit 2003 that I should delete?in MS-DOS command: bcdedit/enum I found
Would like to know what the proper way to go about formating hard drive and reinstalling windows 7 all I have is the repair disk, data back up disk & the Image disk i got the dell laptop from bestbuy and geeksquad did the set up well actually 3 weeks ago my motherboard and processor took a crap and it was replaced but i dont have a windows disk and actually had to get a program to track down the cd key but i dont have any dell software installed in here and its missing to many system files to run down. so i fifgured i would just "start over".
Having read some threads I am under the impression I won't have to purchase another copy of windows but I was wondering what I will have to do in order to continue using the same copy of windows.
Some people have indicated that I will need to contact Microsoft but I couldn't determine if they meant the automated phone number used to activate Windows or if was another number?

I downloaded a ISo file to flashDrive used JellyBean key finder and wrote the key down and then booted and reinstalled Windows 7 64Bit from flashDrive and now it gives me that error code saying The Software Liscensing Service reported tha the computer BIOS is missing a required License.
After restoring my pc from a system image, when windows resarts, it won't boot, & I'm taken to the "startup repair" option screen. After Startup Repair is performed I get the message "Startup Repair Cannot Repair This Computer Automatically" with the following problem details:

Attempting to backup my HP laptop to my new Seagate Expansion 3TB plug and play external drive returns the error shown in the screenshot below. After searching Google for a solution it seems the backup utility in Windows 7 is not compatible with high capacity drives over 2.5TB. Am I understanding this correctly? How am I going to backup my laptop onto this drive?I did come across a proposed solution here but apparently this would prevent the drive from working with Windows XP. As I need to move file between the laptop and an XP machine this is not an option for me.There is approximately 126GB of data on the machine and the drive is brand new, formatted to NTFS and otherwise empty.Perhaps I need to use a third party software to backup?
Windows 7 re-install driver recovery failure For one reason or another, i decided to re install windows 7 onto my Samsung 7 Chronos. Since I've had no issues in the past with re installing vista on my other machine, i mistakenly thought this would be a walk in the park. Anyway, now after re installing windows, multiple drivers have gone missing, and i cannot connect to the internet (on that machine) to allow windows to find them for me.The devices that are missing drivers are the following
ethernet controller (location PCI bus 3. device 0, function 0 manufacturer unknown) Intel(R) Centrino(R) Wireless- N + WiMAX 6150 (location Port_#0003. Hub_#0004 Network Controller ( location PCI bus 2, device 0, function 0) PCI simple communications Controller (location PCI bus 0, Device 22, function 0) SM Bus Controller (location PCI bus 0, device 31, function 3) Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller (location PCI bus 4, device 0, function 0) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- (All of these devices have the code 28 error)
Also, My Standard VGA Graphics adapter cannot start (code 10)I have the recovery disk for windows 7, yet it failed to install these drivers. I have 1 working USB slot, which i can use to carry the drivers over from the computer i am currently using, to the one which is severely crippled at the moment.
