View 3 RepliesError code:0xe0f00013I have a HP Pavilion laptop (windows 7 Ultimate 64bit system with a 2.3gb AMD Turion 11 Dual-Core with 8gb Ram.I bought it about two years ago for my daughter. When I bought it I burned DVD's for the Recovery Disks. I have never used them UNTIL now.She was getting a message that it was NOT a Genuine copy, but it is.I figured that if I restored the laptop with the original DVD's that it would fix the problem.I loaded the recovery Disks On the last Disk it gave me this:Recovery Manager could not restore your computer using the factory image-Please contact HP support,Error Code:0xe0f00013.I tried restarting laptop and it said BOOTMGR is missing .Press ctrl+ALT+DEL to restart. I called HP and ordered the operating system. When it arrived I loaded the DVD's BUT on the last Disk it gave me the same ERROR.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSomething went wrong when I was removing the Windows 8 Consumer Review partition and I lost my D: partition. I tried to recover it to no avail. My backups mistakenly only contained my C: partition but not the D: partition so I am preparing to reformat my C: drive and re-install Windows 7. My default profile had previously been relocated to an external disk drive (H:) and everything there is intact. Here is my question. When Windows 7 gets re-installed on my C: drive with both the C: and D: partitions, will it be possible to restore my applications from my C: partition backup or will it be necessary to download all of them again? At present the applications are on my C: partition but H:\users\richard\appdata is not.

Today, after a bad driver update, I decided to do a system image from a known good image that I have used once before. The image is on 3 DVD's. I inserted and ran the 1st DVD like normal, and when prompted, I inserted the 2nd DVD. That's when it happened. The screen kept saying that "No DVD is installed in the drive" even though I could hear it spinning. I clicked OK, and the message would return. I opened, replaced the DVD and closed the tray many, many times and I got the same "no DVD installed" error message.I tried and tried to no avail. So I cancelled the system image thinking I could just boot from the System repair disc that I made, but no matter how many times I try to boot from it, I get an error message, and nothing but "No operating system installed".I called Dell and they are sending me a factory Windows 7 Home Premium x64 disc that I should receive Friday................I have no clue what to do when I receive it, but I want to at least try.

View 1 Replies View Relatedim needing to backup some applications, it would make things a whole lot easier when reinstalling windows. isnt there an application where i can either point it to the main executable of a program, or its shortcut in teh start menu and this program will read into the uninstall and grab all the registry data into a file, so that i can save this info along with the directory of teh application itself?
This way i can cut and paste the app over to the new location (another operating system of the same type) then run this application that will spit the registry entries in for the app. Then i can create a shortcut and when i run it i dont want it to complain about any registry problems, etc.
I am trying to recover my ASUS K52D Notebook PC to factory settings. I am currently running Windows 7 operating system. I do have the Driver & Utility Ver.1.0 disk, but I have lost the System recovery disk that was made by the store where I purchased my laptop from. I have tried recurring it using the partition file thing that's on my computer, but I received an error message. I am wondering, is there a way to recover my Notebook to factory settings without using the partition or the recovery DVD?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently had to take my computer in to the local computer shop to get it fixed because every time I logged in I was getting the blue screen of death (even in safe mode),Basically he just restored windows to factory settings. However I noticed a user folder called boinc_master and it just contains a bunch of empty folders. Apparently its some Berkeley program that uses your computer to run calculations and I assume that when you re install windows it asks if this is ok to do and he pressed ok or something. I don't want to use my CPU to run Berkeley calculations. As a result, I deleted the folder. I can't really find any other information on my computer about it (typing in boinc in the search brings up nothing now) so I just want to know if there a way to make sure that I know my computer is not being used for such calculations?
Also I have no idea how he re installed windows to factory settings on my VAIO laptop. I tried doing a search but can't figure out what did to get factory settings. I was planning on reinstalling to factory settings again to try to undo this. system restore only lets me restore to an earlier or time or reinstall windows (using a disk which I don't have). Any reccomendations or ideas on what he did to reinstall to factory settings?
