Dell Vostro 1320 Touchpad Drivers Issue
I have just purchased a Dell computer (vostro 1320), with Windows 7. Everything was working just fine, when I started to get those blue screens errors. I seeked help from Dell, which told me to install WinDbg, to find out the problem.
After analyzing what caused the error, this program pointed the error was in a driver from Dell touchpad.
I contacted Dell, which said the problem was in the software, which was conflicting with windows, and then they told me to format the pc.
I am very reluctant in doing so, mainly because the pc is brand new, and every time I formatted my old pc, it never was the same, and the old problems always returned.
So, my question is: is there another solution for my problem? Maybe an alternative driver, which can substitute the one from Dell and does not conflict with windows!

Touchpad Dell Vostro 1700
I'm having a small inconvenience issue with my touchpad on my laptop (model and manufacturer in subject line). I cannot scroll down any screen by running my finger down the right side of the touchpad. I was wondering if there was a fix for this because the drivers from Dell will not run in Windows 7. I also would like to be able to change the functionality of my touchpad buttons (i.e. clicking both buttons to open up a new tab in internet explorer, like I can do with my Vista install on this laptop.).

Keyboard Vostro 1320 Only Works Every Other Boot
I have a new vostro 1320 with windows 7 professional installed (not rc or beta) and the keyboard will work fine for the first 10-20 boots. After that (with no new windows updates or driver updates) it will not work upon loading windows. The keyboard does still work in bios and safe mode. After a number of reboots the keyboard may or may not begin working again. Windows also begins to BSOD once the desktop is loaded, every other boot or so error 0x000008E and 7E with file wdf01000.sys. Checked the device manager, says keyboard is working correctly even though no typing comes through. The only driver for keyboard is the generic ps/2 one windows auto-installs (dated 2006 or so). i'm using the laptop on only ac power (battery removed to preserve life while i'm not mobile).Â

Dell Vostro 1700 Drivers
I have Dell Vostro 1700 and I recently upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Since then some of my function keys are not working. Fn + F1 for example is supposed to put the computer to sleep but it's not doing anything. Can you tell me which driver should I install? On Dell.com for my computer there are drivers only for XP and Vista 32bit. For 1720 (which is the same series) there is for Vista x64 and 7 32 and 64bit. Maybe I could use some of its drivers? But I don't know which to install. Other than that when I change the brightness of the screen of the volume i don't see visual notification as I used to in Vista. I think it is a program called dell quickset but I can't find it either.

Vostro 1520 Video Card / TouchPad Errors
My System: Currently, I'm running 32-bit Windows 7 Professional , not sure which version, on a Vostro 1520 (Bios v.A05) . I downloaded and installed the student version that was available on Microsoft's website around August (prior to official release in October). I usually run my laptop, plugged in, without the battery (I pull it out when plugged in). The Problem : Sometimes when I boot up my computer, my Video Card (NVIDIA 9300M GS) and/or my TouchPad (Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad) seems to not work . The device status on the video card is as such: "This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer. (Code 14)". The device status on the TouchPad is as such: "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" Solutions I've tried to fix Video Card : - Downloading the latest video card drivers from NVIDIA's webpage directly. - Updated the BIOS to vA05. - Both Dell and NVIDIA's video drivers. I've seen some similar posts, which suggested updating the drivers/BIOS, but I've tried that and it doesn't seem to help my problem. I don't mind not having the TouchPad work as much so I've been mostly trouble shooting the video card.

Dell Inspiron 1526 Touchpad Drivers And Problems
I am aware that there is another thread relating to scrolling issues that includes some of the problem that I am having but it does not solve all my questions. I am running Windows 7 64 bit on my Dell Inspiron 1526. However my touchpad does not have it's same functionality. The scroll does not work and I cannot disable it. In Vista 32 my touchpad used to disable automatically when I plugged in a mouse. I found an ALPS driver (from the previous thread) that enables me to scroll without bugs but it does not let me modify my touchpad in anyway. I also found a Synaptics driver that lets me disable my touchpad manually, but it will not scroll. My touchpad is not actually recognized as a touchpad but as a "Standard Pointing Device". I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of a driver that would grant me the same functionality that I had in Vista 32 or at least let my touchpad actually be recognized on my computer. It is rather annoying constantly having to switch drivers.

No Sound On Dell Vostro 1400
I installed Windows 7 beta on my Dell Vostro 1400 notebook.  I did a clean install...nothing else on the notebook. Windows 7 installed perfectly and there are no issues with the device drivers. However, I cannot get any sound from the notebook. Anyone else have sound issues with a Windows 7 install either on a notebook or desktop?

Dell Vostro 1500 Compatibility
I am running vista home premium sp1 on a laptop. Right now i am running windows 7 rc on virtual pc 2007 sp1 and it runs fine as well as windows 7 beta did. I mainly have it running because i use this computer to do free seminars on "how to keep your computer safe" and also to show Vista and I want to give a sneak peak to the public Windows 7. This is a dell vostro 1500 about 1yr old. Once Windows 7 comes out for sale, i would like to know if i can upgrade this laptop to windows 7 instead of doing a wipe out and clean install. This computer was made especially for me to be able to run a projector or tv on it in different modes Will this be at all possible? or will I have to go purchase a new computer which i really do not want to do.

Just the lights of power, numlock, scrolllock and capslock turn on... with the last one (capslock) blinking. 6. these three lights turn off after approximately 30 seconds Tried to take the batteries off and hold power button, take memory out, put it on again... As nothing appears on the screen, I can't go to safe mode, press F8, Del, Esc or anything at all... Can't open dvd tray..

Dell Vostro 1500 IPhone Problem
For months I synched 4 iPhones with iTunes on Vista on a Dell Vostro 1500. Then I upgraded to Windows 7 Ultimate in October and have had problems since. Now the iPhone is never found by Windows (no iPhone icon in the Computer window) and the iPhone never shows up as a USB camera  device in device manager. The usbaapl.sys driver always installs and shows up in device manager as Apple Mobile Device USB Driver. Sometimes the iPhone does show up as a device inside of iTunes. Sometimes then the 3GS iPhone can be synched in iTunes. Sometimes the iPhone doesn't show up as a device in iTunes and sometimes when it does, the synch fails. Always, when I eject the iPhone from iTunes, Windows 7 tries to compete the installation of the iPhone as a camera USB device and the installation fails. The message is ‘device driver software was not directly installed. MTP USB Device. Device Unplugged.

Dell Vostro 200 Wake From Sleep Issue
My wife has a Dell Vostro 200, with Windows 7 x64. Every time it goes into sleep mode it immediately wakes up. I've looked at Event Viewer, but it doesn't help - the wake source is unknown. I've tried turning off wake-up on the the mouse, keyboard and network adapter, although on the latter its seems to remain on but grayed out. I had the same problem in Vista x86, but I can't remember what I did to fix it. Any ideas?

Dell Laptop Touchpad
I think this is driver related. My Dell laptop touch pad is working fine for moving the pointer and clicking but the scrollbar for web pages etc. that runs vertically down the left of the pad does not function at all. I have had a look around the Device Manager but I cant find the pads entry to update it. Perhaps this is just something that is incompatible with Windows 7... Does anyone else have this problem?

Dell Touchpad - Synaptics
I just installed Windows 7 Build 7600 and I am trying to get the touchpad scrolling to work on my Dell Inspiron 1420. I installed the synaptics drivers from their website (v10.1.8 x64) but when I go to mouse properties and click the synaptics tab it only allows me to configure the right and left click buttons. How can I configure the scrolling of my touchpad? I NEED it! Also are there any iTunes guru's out there? I have my library all setup on my vista partition. Is there anyway I can get my library/playlists on the Windows 7 side. I don't want 2 copies of my music, I want it to all link to the files on the vista partition but I have a feeling I will have trouble either getting the playlists in or trying to gain access to those files on that partition.

Dell Touchpad Driver Cannot Start
I have had this problem since installing windows 7 beta, and have not been able to find a fix, so here i go... I have a Dell XPS m1330 and exactly 50% of the time my dell synaptics touchpad mouse driver does not work. What I mean by that is every other time i boot my computer device manager says "code 10: device cannot start". I have tried installing the lastest Dell Vista drivers for the touchpad, and I have even gone straight to synaptics website and downloaded their latest drivers as well. Neither fixed the problem.

However, I can't scroll on the touchpad like I did with Vista, i.e., using one finger on the right portion of the touchpad. Don't see any appropriate (touchpad/mouse) drivers on Dell's website, even for vista. Any suggestions?

32 Bit Win7 Dell Touchpad Drive Needed
I am looking for an alternate touchpad drive to install in my Dell Inspiron 1720 that is compatible for 32 bit Win 7. My warranty went up and Dell will not give me the compatible programs unless I pay. I'm assuming there is a generic drive out there, somewhere, that does the trick. All I need is to increase the sensitivity, speed, and disable tap-click.

Dell XPS M1330 - Touchpad Driver Glitch
I have Dell XPS M1330 product red, everything installs fine, but oddly enough, on every first start up, it seems like the touchpad driver is not being loaded. I have to reboot for touchpad to work. Not only is it every first startup, but if I did a reboot, touchpad would not be recognized again and I am forced to do another reboot at logon to get touchpad working again. To make clear, touchpad works on every other even reboot, and doesn't on every other odd reboots. I should mention that I am running latest x64 RC version downloaded directly from MS.

It is a printer connected to an XP machine on the network, when i add the printer, it says, that the driver can't be found on the network, then i can pick a driver from disk, but the 64-bit driver package, that HP offers on their page for this printer doesn't work. There's also an install.exe in the package, but it just says Installing for too long and does nothing. Have you encountered this issue?
