I have a Dell 1720 laser printer that says it is compatible with windows 7 64 bit. Windows update downloads the driver but says there was a problem during installation. I've uninstalled the printer and tried several times to install it, but I get stuck at the same spot. I downloaded the drivers on the dell website and have the same problem, it just will not install.

I have a computer using Windows 7 professional x64 with all updates current as of last Tuesday, hooked up through a Bell 2wire router (directly wired) and a laptop that is wirelessly connected to the internet through the bell 2wire router. I have a Dell Laser Colour printer on the main computer and can't figure out how to let the laptop share the thing. When I look at adding the laptop to the home group it says it can't discover any computers on the network.

If your trying to change a bios setting or Reformat any of the newer Dell Laptop's you may run into this issue! There is an Administrator password you will be prompted for. I believe this is created at the factory and unplugging the bios battery no longer does the trick! I tried many different passwords combos and found that:<dell> all lowercase and minus the brackets works for a few of the newer Dell Laptops
