Computer Restarts Randomly And No .exe Files Open?
Mar 18, 2012
Just yesterday my desktop (currently using laptop) randomly restarted and now no .exe files will open. I have searched the forums and some posts suggested combofix. However, I cannot access the internet nor can I open any files. I also ran the computer in safemode and still no luck. I have the following antivirus programs: AVG 2012, Malwarbyte, Super antivirus, and CC cleaner. Oddly enough, CC cleaner and Super antivirus works normally but doesn't fix any problems. I would say 90% of my programs cannot open. I can run the command prompt as well.Things I have tried:
My computer has been restarting randomly for the past few days and it's driving me crazy since I'm a student and I really need my computer to do all of my homeworks. After the last unplanned restart, I went to event viewer--windows logs--system, and it appears that the restart was because of:Source: USER32The process svchost.exe has initiated the restart of computer HOST-PC on behalf of user NT AUTHORITYSYSTEM for the following reason: Operating System: Hot fix (Planned)Reason Code: 0x80020011Shutdown Type: restart
My problem started about a month ago, at first I was ignoring it because I didn't care much, now it's becoming annoying.
Let me explain what my problem is. When I turn on my computer it does the normal stuff, but at some point before I get the chance to log in it either: Freezes, automatically restarts with no error, sends me a blue screen, the screen goes like when your tv doesn't have signal (all those colors) or it either shuts down. Now, 1-2 times I actually get to log in and when I'm prompted in my user desktop it always does the same thing I listed above. The weird thing is, after about 6-7 restarts when I log in it actually works with no restarts whatsoever, I can play all day long with no more restarts.
My computer has randomly been starting to restart itself when unattended. I turned it on one day and then left it unattended for a bit, and then noticed that when I came back to it, the computer was at the login screen. I thought it was nothing, so ignored it and kept going, until it happened again. Now it happens anytime the computer is left on, unused for more than like, 20-30 minutes. If I'm actively using it, typing, or on the internet, or playing games, whatever, it stays on without problems.
So basically I'm in the middle of something and my pc just dies, not so much shuts down more like a power failure, then restarts itself. This happens all the time. Sometimes the reboot ocuurs while the pc is starting and happears a message that says the computer was unable to start. But strangely when I use large programs like when I play games like wow or aion the computer doenst reboot, I can play for hours perfectly, and in safe mode occures the same i can be on the computer in safe mode for hours doing any thing that doensnt reboot.(NOTE: sometimes the pc just freezes instead of rebooting but when it freezes I cant do anithing so I have to reboot my computer( I have to reboot the same -.-).
When the computer reboots doenst happear a blue ecran screen of dead, its like a power failure.
My problem its just like when its describe in this site he doensnt show a solution to the problem. Here is the link to the site: .
Ok so this all started when i wanted to add new ram. I was running on 4gbs of ram then i recently bought 2 4gbs of ram so installed it and then my computer started randomly restarting. Then i changed the ram back to how it was and it is still happening now. Im not sure what to do exactly.

Also i am running speed fan to see if the heat is the problem.but currently everything is fine. GPU at 58c CPU at 46c so im not sure what the problem is exactly.
my computer has been freezing and randomly restarting the last couple of days.
When it restarts sometimes it has to boot a couple of times, it seems as though it can' boot the BIOS, the bios splash screen is also different, this also changed 2 days ago. The first couple of times it froze, now it just restarts randomly. I suspect the motherboard.

I can be doing anything (I work on my computer I don't play games) so my normal activity is forums, skype, ftp..etc.I have not been able to identify any particular pattern or software when it happens, but the one thing that does happen is when it first happens, it says "Bad header Pool" then restarts, and it is merely a matter of minutes before it happens again.
Been happening to me for awhile computer will either crash after running for awhile and sometimes the BSOD will state a reason of Cache Manage or System Service Exception, or no reason at all. Sometimes the computer just randomly restarts though.

I've just realized a strange bug, when I open "My computer" or just "Computer" in vista/Windows 7, when I double click or when I right click and then choose "open", it, most of the times, opens two instances of this hard drive. For instance, if I double click on the c: drive, it opens two identical windows with the content of C:
I've included the psr file, you can see that it opens two instances of the windows. Just unzip the file and open it and you'll see the problem.
I am attempting to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 on my laptop and am having multiple problems. The HDD is formatted completely empty.
1. When attempting to use the Reinstallation DVD from Dell, the DVD boots and the progress bar moves that says "Windows is loading files," then the computer restarts and it is stuck in an infinite loop. 2. When attempting to use a copy of Windows 7 on a USB drive, the drive boots up until you see the cursor to begin the reinstallation process, then the computer restarts and it is stuck in an infinite loop. 3. When attempting to use a Windows XP DVD, it starts the setup process, and then I get error: STOP: 0X0000007B (0XF78D2524, 0XC0000034, 0X00000000, 0X00000000)
I have been able to boot command line Linux distros (haven't tried any graphical distros) without any problems. Dell instructed me to run diagnostics on everything, and everything passed, so it doesn't seem like there are any apparent hardware issues. I tried pulling the battery and just using the power cord and also removing one of the sticks of RAM and attempting installation, but I have the same problems.

So I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, and my files randomly play or pause, whether it's a song, or a movie or a TV show. Sometimes it goes for hours not giving me problems, but then at some point randomly pauses and continues, either at like half second intervals, few seconds, or even like 20 seconds after it pauses, it randomly plays again.
I play them off my hard drive and off my external, it's not my external that's the problem I don't think. I'm thinking maybe my wireless adapter is a problem? I don't know.
If I downloaded HijackThis and gave you guys or the guys there a log, would they be able to identify what's causing this, or would it just show as me clicking pause and play, because it does it by itself...
I don't have a virus, I didn't access the internet for more than a few days and I didn't go on any malicious sites, I have AV, but the wireless isn't even on and it's a new build, I know I don't have a virus.
So, about 2 weeks ago I got an email from my ISP that said they were switching from CA internet security to McAfee. I removed CA and installed McAfee. Two days later, my PC restarted while I was watching a movie. No BSOD, no warning, just a restart. When it comes back up I get the "Windows recovered from an unexpected shutdown" message. It has done it randomly ever since. I can be surfing the web or playing a game or watching a movie. It doesnt happen during any specific activity. I can have several things running or just one thing.I dont get it.So, since I despise McAfee anyway, I uninstalled it and got AVG for now. But, about 20 minutes after I did that, it restarted again. I dont get it. I read the post instructions and did what it said to do, hopefully correctly. So, hopefully someone can tell me what the deal is and how to fix it. Ive never had any issues out of this PC that I didnt cause and fix right away until I switched antivirus programs.
I just came back after a few days out, and for some reason my PC cashed several times today. So my PC will restart (more like crash) after I log-in, it is random, it can crash in a few seconds or a few minutes. Last time I used my PC, the "5,6,7" keyboard buttons didn't work (Logitech G15), I usually shutdown my PC every time I go to sleep or go out). I know that the computer crashes because, when I boot I get a screen telling me windows did not shut down correctly and I can use windows normally or with safe mode. PC specs:Windows 7 32 bitnVidia 260 GTX 4 g"b ddr2 ramIntel E8500 Duo 3.16 GHz Antivirus:Avast free + malwarebytes free I've tried to find solutions for the problem and even:- Tried to open case, and tighten cables.
My computer keeps restarting while playing games. It does it randomly sometimes seconds into a game, sometimes hours. There are no error messages or anything. It's been doing this on and off since I built this pc, I've tried older and latest graphics drivers from Nvidia 275.33 to 306.23 with no change.
For the past few weeks, my computer has been experiencing a couple of different failures. Sometimes it freezes up (including the mouse), sometimes it BSODs (different error messages at different times), and sometimes it just shuts off and restarts, as if the power had been momentarily cut. Sometimes it goes a few days between failures, and sometimes it happens multiple times an hour.I've tried the following:update drivers restore from restore point from before the problem started memtest86 (ran 11 times with no errors) reinstall Windows Here are the specs from the TSG SysInfo:Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.2OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bitProcessor:
I have 4 computers in my office.Out of 4,3 of them has a problem for the past 2 months. They all run windows 7.
They keep working for about 30 mins to 1 hour after which they suddenly goes into power saving mode. The monitor goes dark but the CPU light and the fan still work. Then after 10-20 seconds it automatically restarts.
When logging in after the restart,It shows "The system has recovered from a serious error".This happens every 30 mins and for these 3 systems.(I bought it from the same shop last year),But the other one works perfect for about 4 years.
I have tried cleaning the fan, sink and even reinstalled a fresh copy of windows 7.Still the problem persists.
Every now and then my computer shuts down then restarts on its own. I notice that any usernames and passwords that I have set to remember are reset. I get this error in my event viewer I don't know if its related :
"Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected".
I've just moved flat and after I did my computer keeps rebooting itself every so often. There doesn't seem to be any reason to it. I've check that all my fans are still working and that all the cables and cards and what not are corrected install and that something hasn't been knocked but everything seems fine to me. I had a wee gander round the internet and it pointed me to check my system log and the two error codes I'm getting every time this happens is: Event I.D 41 + Event I.D 6008. The I have just recently got a new Graphics card, 4gb extra of ram and a wireless adapter. These were all installed on a clean version of windows 7.
today i was watching some video on Internet. suddenly, the computer restarts itself. however, it turns on and turn off nonstop. the window does not even start yet, just about 2 3 seconds then it turns off.
im trying to format my computer but the moment i insert the cd in the drive and set in the bios to boot from then the computer restarts and hangs this only happens when their is a cd inside but if i take out the cd then the computer works properly although still having the setting to boot from the cd drive but the moment you put a cd inside to boot then the pc restarts and hangs?
I bought a HP P6510f PC about 1.5 years ago. In the past month the computer started having problems. The first sign of problems was powering on and the computer would not boot up but instead go to a blank screen with a flashing cursor in the top left corner of screen. I ran a diagnostic through the internal software, I believe it's called PC Doctor and all componenets checked out fine - RAM, CPU, Hard Drive, etc. I then decided to reinstall windows 7. After installing the computer started to work like new again, except the next day it restarted itself and went to a black screen. It's done this a few times now. Sometime it boots up fine, other times it gets stuck and won't boot, just a black screen or the HP screen welcome screen with option for setup f10 (though won't respond).
Are there ways I can check for internal malfunctioning hardware?I did go into event viewer and noticed a few errors under System and Application that I have pasted below Critical - Kernel 41 power "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly." Error - Event 20 - Installation Failure: Windows failed to install the following update with error 0x80070643: Security Update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 for x64-based Systems (KB954430).Also, this shows up as "error" - "The previous system shutdown at 12:37:29 AM on ‎12/‎31/‎2011 was unexpected"
My computer started randomly restarting itself and i didnt know what the problem was, i tried a variety of things and nothing worked so i decided to reinstall windows.once i did that the problem was still there. Everytime i try to install any program my computer just restarts itself, this includes windows update which i had to turn off just to use the computer.
My laptop (Lenovo V560) is one month old.Somehow I messed up my operating system without backup the hard drive, That means I do not have the original OS.Now I installed a Windows 7 (from Dell). My computer restarts when I doing some work.
For the past week, my recently new started having this problem .Whenever I try shutting down the computer, click start and shut down or shut down on the log on screen, the computer turns off for 3 seconds, then restarts.I've google searched the problem and found solutions such as changing registry key, creating a shortcut on the desktop and clean booting but none have worked for me.
My computer suddenly restarts on it's own. I've cleaned it, checked for loose connections. The temps are fine (for where I'm from anyway, pretty hot here most of the time). The time between restarts shortens through continuous usage. My computer's always having problems (replaced the psu due to it getting grounded, reformatted multiple times to fix software issues). This is the first computer I've built by the way. This started after installing a game but I already uninstalled that. And the errors I get from event log are normal (from what I've gathered from other threads). I tried checking my memsticks yung memtest but it still restarts on it's own. As I've said, my psu was recently replaced (less than 6 months ago).
