Computer Is Connected To The Internet, But Is Not Loading Web Pages.
Feb 10, 2013
I am having trouble with my laptop. It says I am connected to the internet, but whenever I open a browser( Chrome, Firefox or IE) it doesn't open any web pages. I get the message "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection". And it's not the router because we have another laptop in the house connected to the same router and it works fine. I have a Lenovo V570. Also my laptop works fine on other connections and routers, just for some reason doesn't accept this one.
I have internet access, but when I am in normal mode it says that the page took too long to load so it couldn't connect to it. I have tried nearly everything, but nothing so far. When I am in safe mode, I can view any page. So that's how I am able to post this
This is a brand new Acer Aspire x1430g desktop. I cannot get some microsoft websites to load and windows live messenger will not sign in. Is it possible that Windows 7 is not compatible with my Westell 327 router/modem? Is there a setting that needs to be changed?
My laptop was running fine, but for a couple days it starting acting up. It says that I'm connected but it doesn't load anything. I've unplugged and replugged every cord from both my router and modem, and it's not my laptop because I took it to a friend's house and it worked fine there. I've defragged and scanned and cleaned out my disk, but it still doesn't work. I ran troubleshooter and it said that nothing's wrong.
I inserted a blank CD to add music into, using iTunes 10 (maybe 11).It did the job but all of the music were incomplete and the lengths were like 8 or 6 seconds.I tried to format the CD but it didn't work. Then I got angry and smashed the keyboard, and it froze.I force shut the laptop WITH THE CD STILL INSERTED and ejected it, then turned it on again.Windows started Startup Repair and it finishes, then restarted. And again Startup Repair ran again, then it told me it can fix the problem in a new dialog box.My computer is not connected to the Internet and I'm using a substitute computer to type this.A box in the dialog box showed the following text: [code] I closed the dialog box and it told me: (translated from Japanese, may not be that accurate.)
If you connected devices such as cameras or portable music players to this computer, please ejected them and then restart the computer. If this message keeps appearing, please ask the administrator or the manufacturer of the computer. Then I click Finish to restart. And again Startup Repair showed up, and the same message showed up.I clicked something like Show Restore System Option to restore the system, but it says the restore point is broken during restoration, and when I try to restore the system again, it still doesn't work.
Is it possible to have a computer connected to a LAN (via a router/switch) but not connected to the Internet, being that the Internet signal comes via that router/switch?
Strange thing has started happening, i have upgraded to 100MBb broadband and i am connected via Ethernet and speed test showing average 94mb. yet random web pages links i click in Google open in an new window but the page will not load, never happened before when i was on 50mb, i have run anti virus and spybot which found maybe 1 or 2 things but it has not resolved the issue,
a week ago the IE stopped loading pages, i have also firefox installed which is working fine. googled the problem and show a suggestion to reset the IE (tools - internet options - advanced - reset). but this option was in grey. i tried tune up utilities to fix the win but it didn't heventually i removed the IE9 (control panel - programs and features...). the problem was solved or so i thought. the problem came back again in the next time i run ie8. i tried to re install IE9 but the problem was till there. i removed again the IE9 and again i thought the problem solved but it came back in the next time i run ie8.
I custom built my computer and I am having problems with intermittent freezing. The computer freezes every second or two when I am connected to the wireless internet.; however, sometimes I can be connected to wireless and it works just fine. If I disconnect my wireless connection my computer works fine. My computer is running windows 7 professional and the wireless driver is up to date.
I have a really weird issue that I just cannot figure out, but it is annoying as ever.I use Google Chrome and sometimes when I am loading a webpage, the entire page doesn't load properly. For instance, below are 2 pictures. This first picture displays how everything is messed up and did not load correctly.how the website should normally load up to look like.Notice the difference between the two? And it's not just this page that does it, it's almost any page I go to and it happens randomly.how all of the smiley faces didn't load and all of the images above the message box? I don't think it's my connection. I've called my ISP a few times already and seriously questioned different reps and none of them can see any kind of problem with my connection.
sometimes when I click on a link or a website etc...it won't load up or it takes a while to do so but when I use the browser back then forward arrows they will load right up with no problem? Whats causing this? Happens on Firefox and Explorer.
Ever since I installed Windows 7 and IE 9 my computer has been giving me fits. Pages and games load extremely slow and I have to refresh constantly. Windows live mail is a nightmare as it takes over 2 minutes to load an email just so that I can delete it. Can I uninstall IE 9 without causing any problems on my computer? And will it revert back to IE 8? I'm thinking that IE 9 is what is giving me such problems and I have heard that it causes a lot of problems with other programs and games. I scan and defrag all the time so I know that isn't my problem with too much junk on the computer.
Why all my icon always refreshing/reloading every-time my computer connected to internet?I'm using Avast HE and MSE for my anti virus, but I dont think it's relevant. The problem occur in windows Windows 7.
computer connected to network showing internet but cannot get a website to open. I brought 3 dell's only one successful the other two will not open a internet page - did have the yellow exclamation sign that disappeared and but still not internet.
I have a strange problem. My internet usage is way below over, so I have a fine internet connection, yet when I try to watch videos on the internet, they will stop playing a couple seconds into the video and act as if that was the end of the video. if I try to make the video load, then it will just load forever and NEVER work. I also have issues when viewing images, some images are half loaded and look very strange (google images for example). Also, alot of th web pages I load up go straight to the page saying an error has occured. I have had windows seven for a few months and have no viruses (that I know of).
Suddenly, about two weeks ago Firefox 10 stopped loading web pages. The "connecting" circle keeps spinning and absolutely nothing happens. I have Thunderbird email and may have found a temporary way around it: I right click on "Reload tab" on the website tab I'm trying to access. I have to do it several times for it to connect to the site. I uninstalled FF 10 and reinstalled 9 to see if the problem persisted: it does. I actually had to use Internet Explorer (!) a few times to be able to access the various websites, and I downloaded Chrome as a temporary stop-gap measure in case FF doesn't work at all. Although I don't want to use any browser but Firefox, this malfunctioning is getting me down a lot; I might be going to Chrome permanently. What can be causing this vexing problem of web pages not loading? [I have Windows 7 Profession 32 bit SP1].
i have a brand new toshiba laptop connected wirelessly. however it keeps showing connected however no internet access.i have a notebook as well that is brand new and it connects no problems what so ever.im using windows 7 home premium and 64 bit os.

i started up my pc today, everything was cool. i went out for a bit and when i came back, the internet was going horribly slow. pages show in text version, some don't load at all. Internet keeps giving me the 'there was an error loading the video, please try again later'. i ran a speedtest.net check, i'm getting 4mbps, i normally get 9 or 10 but 4 is fine for me. i'm not downloading anything and the only internet connected program i'm running is chrome.
I was browsing the internet on my firefox when suddenly the links that i opened up where not loading at all. All it had was a blank white screen. I restarted the firefox and the computer but it was still not working. The internet explorer was acting the same way. I tried several solutions such as clearing my cache, changing the proxy settings but it froze the windows 7 when doing so.
My anti-virus program that i brought (Trend Mirco) had expired 2 or 3 days ago. I'm not sure if i have a anti-virus, i just downloaded avg for free but when i try to scan the computer it freezes again.

We have our Server running Windows Server 2003. We have 2 other desktop computers running XP and a laptop also running XP connected. We replaced one of the XP computers with a brand new Windows 7 computer. I am connected to the LAN just fine and when you click on "get online," it's says that there's a working connection but when I try to load ANY page I get the "page cannot load" error. Yesterday, the issue was intermittent but today I have been unable to get online at all. I've tried restarting the server and the new computer as well as the router. I've also tried disabling and enabling the LAN. I also tried a "repair winsock" option I found on the forums. All other computers running through the server are working fine so I know it's not the ISP. We didn't change the router so I know it can handle the number of computers we have.
I've had my standard DSL 6mbps (actually got 5.3mbps) service for a year, no real issues with it. Pages loaded as usual, always been using Google Chrome.2 weeks ago I switched over to U-Verse and "doubled" the speed to 12mbps (getting 10.5mbps). Now everytime i go to any website, doesnt matter if it's yahoo, google, youtue, tomshardware... it either fails to load completely and chrome says it can not find the site, or it will find the site but not load any images as all. Instead I have to keep hitting refresh 2-5 times until everything loads correctly.I tried this on my other PC too, and it does the same thing... i cleared out the cache and downloads so everything would run fresh but it didnt help. I then tried using IE, and still get the same thing.
Am using dell inspiron laptop with windows 7 home premium 64 bit , i have a free wifi in our collage when i give connect it was getting connected but there is no internet access i had tried with trouble shoot it was giving problem regarding DNS
I have had this computer for about three years and I am getting my internet service through Verizon. Three days ago I got a message that my brouser address could not be found because I am working offline. I went to tools click working offline, the red X appeard and try to get back on the internet. I have not been able to get connect since. I have contacted Verizon tech and went through all the steps with them, still no connecton. They told me it was a microsoft problem. I contected microsoft troubleshooting online service. I went through all the steps with them.I even paid $200.00 for IYOGI tech support. They say I might need a new modem.
I am running a modem and wireless router which is working fine. I have my home computer up and running (Windows 7)- no problems at all. However, my work laptop (windows 7 professional) will connect to my wireless network but will not 'access' the internet. I have set up a connection from scratch; changed the network settings; restarted (everything) plugged in wth Ethernet cord; run a router check... and honestly I am way out of my league in figuring this one out.I tried several of the solutions for forum threads around the problem of 'connected to internet but no internet access', but part of my confusion is that one computer works fine, but the other simply won't allow access. When I use a when I use an open network it won't allow me on at all. But when I set up my private network it will connect and show internet access for 10 SECONDS at a time and then No access... like a constant flicker...
I've had a problem for the past few months trying to get my Internet to work. The wireless works fine with my phone, other computers, installed Ubuntu on my comp, etc. The only place it seems to not be working is in my windows. I'be checked out a few videos and can't seem to find the exact solution. I'm thinking it may be a virus, but the avast antivirus "quick check" didn't find anything of that sort. In the device manager under Network Adapters, there are two links that each have a yellow 'i' symbol. When I troubleshoot with windows it says there are no issues. When I go to 'Change adapter settings' there are no adapters available such as the LAN, etc.
i have a problem with my internet. Not sure if its my laptop or my internet. But when i turn on my laptop the internet works for a couple min. or hours or so then after that there will be a yellow triangle with a exclamation mark in the middle. Not sure why that happens. But if you guys have ideas that i can try out then that would be great! I tried /release & /renew but that didn't do anything. Also disabled and enabled the network adapter but that didn't work either. I am using a Ralink RT5390 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter.(If that helps with anything) I am using a windows 7 hp laptop. If you guys have anyway to fix this then please tell me! Its been like that after 5 weeks i got my laptop.
I just installed windows 7 home premium 64 bit, but for some reason, icant browse the Internet even though I'm connected. Ie thinks I'm not connected and nothing happens on firefox. I've tried the troubleshooter, disconnected and reconnected to the wireless network, and restarted my computer. Nothing changes.
I don't know if this is relevant but I got Microsoft tech support to help me download the file since I was having difficulties, and he somehow managed to disable all 3rd party programs. I'm not sure if that's related to this situation, and I don't know how to enable the programs again...
I have however recently bought a brand new laptop with win 7 pre-installed which seems to have a similar problem as the desktop. The difference is that the connection is more sporadic it may be fine for a hour or two then the connection shows a yellow warning sign and says ' no internet access' . During this time the internet is unavailable.
