Restore Folders In Computer?
Feb 11, 2013I have a Minecraft server in Kaspersky's safe run folder which is located in 'My Computer' so me and my brother have easy access between our user accounts (it's tiring going back and forth through our documents.) I removed Kaspersky and I'm sure I unchecked 'Remove Safe Run Folder' and it erased . I've tried data recovery software but it doesn't have support for folders in My Computer.

Feb 1, 2011i just barely got a new computer, that's running 7, and i'm still setting all the different little things to my own liking and i need some help when i go to look at the folders, such as my computer, or the control panel or my documents, all of them, they appear with the address bar and search bar at the top, like a web site page, even complete with a back and forward button, but i severely hate that and was wondering how i change the way the folders appear? i have been all over the net trying to find it but to no avail, i did find it once, but i didn't change it at the time?

Jul 8, 2011I've placed two computers in a homegroup. Computer 1 can access Computer 2's shared folders, however, Computer 2 cannot access Computer 1's shared folders. When attempting to access the shared folders (with read/write permissions), I get the spinning wheel and then it just eventually says 1 item selected at the bottom of the explorer window and stops. The folders do not expand. They're on the same workgroup with no other computers, I read that they should be or something.

Jul 31, 2012I have a windows 7 os on my main pc and xp pro on my laptop. when i try to access files on my main pc (windows 7) from my xp pro laptop I get asked for a user name and password. Yet when I do it the other way round I have full access with out any password ect. I have not set up any passwords and have tried my home group password but not got any joy. I have 2 other laptops both running windows 7 and have no problems networking between all windows 7 systems. all computers are running norton firewall and are configered the same.

Sep 22, 2011They were working then I rebooted the pc today and went to click on computer and nothing happens, the only thing is the little folder icon comes on the taskbar and that's it, it doesn't open.Also all of a sudden my events viewer doesn't work either, get this error, specified query is invalid 15001BTW system restore wasn't on, I guess when I fixed my booting problem it turned it off, the only drives that had restore enabled where my other 2 drives not the one I needed.

See, I'm a game modder, and this requires me to have many folders open at once. The problem is, when my computer goes to sleep and then wakes up, the order of my folders on the taskbar is changed. This bugs me to no end, and I'm wondering how I can stop this reordering from happening.

Nov 26, 2012The HomeGroup shares have been a recurring issue that I haven't been able to solve, but the really perplexing one is the shared folder issue which just cropped up. Some of my shared folders still work, but e, g and h (music and video respectively) for some reason spit back "Access Denied" on all of the other computers in my house, this is in spite of the fact that Permissions on them are set to Full Control for Everyone.With regards to HomeGroup shares, they simply don't show up no matter what I do, I'd like to fix that one too, but I'm not sure what I can do to fix that.

Jul 28, 2011I have an old hard drive with a ton of pictures and other irreplaceable files on it from a computer I had few years back. In case it makes any difference, the computer that hard drive originally was in ran Windows XP Pro.I recently got a new computer, with Windows 7 and had the hard drive put into this new computer, along with the hard drive that came in the computer.I can get to the drive itself, but when I try to access folders or files, either access is denied or folders which should contain more folders, are empty. I have tried changing the permission and ownership options on the drive, but no luck.

Jul 9, 2012I have just done a clean install of Win 7 Pro 64. I have set up four accounts and for each one I have moved the user folders to a separate hard drive by using the Right Click Properties > Location > Move. I have done this for the following folders:
- Desktop
- Downloads
- My Documents
- Favorites
- Links
- My Music
- My Pictures
- Videos
I have done it exactly the same way on each account (and more than once! I've been imaging the disk and have restored backwards a few times.)
The problem is, on three of the accounts, when I move the My Music, My Pictures, and Videos then they do move correctly but three rogue folders appear named Music, Pictures and Videos. And I can't delete then since they are system folders.
But the weird thing is that this does not happen on one of the accounts!
how to get rid of the extra folders as they're cluttering up the users home folder and causing confusion.

Sep 19, 2009In Windows 7 how can I change "Folders View" for individual folders without changing them system wide. For example if I select "always show icons" all my folders are set this way, and that's fine. But there are a few folders I have containing jpeg images, and I want to view those as "thumbnails" without effecting the others which are set to always show icons.
This was very easy to do in Windows XP but I can't figure out how to do it in Windows 7.

May 17, 2011I have problem, recently all new folder are created optimized for video content with big pictures and such. How can I fix that so they are created as normal folders, because this is driving me nuts having to change this for every new folder.
