"Certificate Error: Navigation Blocked"
Oct 11, 2010
I've scoured the web for this but can't find a solution. Every time I go to a https site in Windows 7/IE8, I get the "Certificate Error: Navigation Blocked" "There is a problem with this website's security certificate". This happens to both internal sites at my company and external sites [URL]I can click the "Continue to this website" and everything is fine, but I want to make this 'error' go away completely -- for every https site.

For the past few weeks, I'm getting all these error codes and have NO clue why? They are to sites I use every day. One moment I can access the sights and next moment I get the error codes.I've run the Windows Repair Disk, CClean, Malwarebytes and Spybot and nothing I've done has helped. Any ideas will be appreciated because I've gotten a rotten headache again today trying to figure this out.If I recall, I think it all started when the Babylon Toolbar forced it's way onto my computer. I have no idea how I got it but I believe it's been deleted....and not even sure if that is the start of the problems/ I just remember having to delete it and then got these others problems afterwards. Whether there is a connection or not, I don't know.

I suspect an ieframe.dll issue. It happens intermittently on two laptops in my home. Have reset modom and router, restarted computers. Google Chrome even cites Invalid URL!

I can't get rid of security certificate error. It happened because i accidentally set wrong date in BIOS (i wasn't using it about 3 month and CMOS batter was dead therefore it asked me to enter the date). After using it couple hours i saw that error and googled it. I found that the date is wrong and fixed it but nothing changed. I still get that error almost on any web page i enter (on all browsers:Firefox, Opera, IE9). click Continue to this website (not recommended) on IE or add exception on Firefox. And also can it be a firewall or antivirus issue? I've Nod32 ESS x64 installed.

I have a PC with windows vista installed. I recently bought windows 7 home premium and installed a fresh copy of it. Every time I download some software like Chrome, VLC, iTunes , it downloads fine, but when it has to install it gives strange errors. I have seen all kinds of errors.
E.g.: VLC gives NSIS error.
Microsoft Security Essentials gives "File Corrupt Error".
Got certificate invalid error for some other software. if I download zip files, they fail with CRC check.
Just to be sure it wasn't hardware issue, I installed vista as a second OS and that works fine. I am really uncertain what is causing the issue (seems network related though). I had an old router and just purchased a new linksys router. Other configurations are: Core 2 Quad, EVGA SLI ready motherboard, 4GB DDR2 ram, ASUS EN210 gphx card.

Is there somewhere similar to this where I can get help with Windows Server 2011? All I'm trying to do is add Google as a search provider in IE8, and I'm hitting rafts of problems, and not getting even remotely close to success. I go: Tools -> Internet Options -> Change search defaults Settings -> Find more search providers, I get a new IE8 window with a "Content is being blocked" (Url) (and then several others). I don't have a clue what to do about this, so I just close the window. Eventually, I get a webpage that mentions Google with an "Add to Internet Explorer". I click that button, but all I get is "! Error on page"

I have a toshiba laptop running windows 7 32bit and made some changes to folder ownership that has wrecked havoc on my machine. I am the only user for this machine and am listed at the administrator. The changes I made were under the "users" folder, and the folder that listed my name. I don't even recall why I was tinkering with it but made a change under file folder properties/security/ownership. Since that change, it has done many things, including removing files and folders from my desktop and computer that do not show up anymore at all. It has blocked me from the c: drive. aApop up upon start up stats microsoft visual runtime library error c:program files. and on and on.
I have done a system restore to prior when I made the changes to no avail. it does the restore, but does not change the folder ownership or issues I am having. I have tried to reset the folder under options to a previous setting but that has not worked and now has me blocked from even going into my c: all together.. saying access denied. I have had no luck under control panel fixing this and have done more harm than good. Is there an easy way to get back control of my computer and regain the files that are not showing up. I have been looking for a way, similar to system restore, to reverse the changes to file ownership and give me control of my computer again. I would think this would be easy since im the system admin but no luck so far.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit. I regularly access a work website that has a self-signed certificate. I got tired of the warning message that always pops up regarding the untrusted certificate, so I installed the certificate. When I used to run XP, that solved the issue. However, for Windows 7 64-bit, that did not fix the problem.
I've also tried installing the certificate into the "Trusted Root Certificate Authorities" store for both my user account and for the computer. That didn't fix it either. Finally, I tried changing the security zone for the site to be in the Trusted Sites list. That also didn't fix the problem.
I find it very irritating that a website that has a "trusted" certificate is giving me a warning message about an untrusted certificate. I wonder if this is related to the Windows 7 64bit driver signing nazi-ism (i.e., you can't load device drivers signed with non-Microsoft certificates, even if you install the certificate). Just for grins, I tried disabling driver signing enforcement, but that didn't change anything either.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Quick question, haven't paid attention before to know.I know Win 7 home and up OEM packaged disks have a certificate of authenticity proof of license sticker, and 32 bit isn't displayed anywhere on the sticker, but on a 64 bit sticker on the same packaging, does it say 64 bit?

This caught my attention today when I was installing the newest round of windows 7 updates, and has me curious, can't say I've ever seen it before so I've looked around and it seems that it used to only be for XP. Any way, from what I can tell from the description it seems to only be needed if your running internet explorer, I don't use IE on this computer (my gaming rig) and don't see why I'd ever have to, I do most of my browsing on my phone, or laptop.
