I can not write any media to disk. Well....that is a lie. I DID manage to make a backup of my cpu files using Dell's backup program.I did it just to see if my internal drive was operational. I can use the drive to view media. I just cannot add media to a disk. It is not the disk themselves as I have used them on many occasions. I have updated the drive. Uninstalled the drive and reinstalled it.Manually installed updates to the drive. I even connected an external drive and cannot write media using this device.

After composing a fax in Word 2003 and selecting "fax" in printing options the fax composing screen comes up where I enter the fax phone number and choose cover page. After completing the information and I click "send" I get the message:"fax error: the message could not be sent. the media is write protected". I have checked the files and they do not show write protection.I have 2 identical Toshiba Satellite L455's- the only difference is that this one is 64bit and the other is 32bit.On the 32bit machine, using Word 2003, I am able to send the fax created on the 64bit machine without getting the error message. How do I correct the incorrect write protection message?

Does Virtual box write to the disk or does it contain it within your host operating system?
I have tried to understand it but can someone pls confirm that what it does is that if your OS is windows7 then what happens is that all virtual OS you add are actually processed and executed by NTFS Windows7?
Reason I ask is b/c linux needs ext2/3/4 to work not NTFS so how can that happen?
