Oct 5, 2010After composing a fax in Word 2003 and selecting "fax" in printing options the fax composing screen comes up where I enter the fax phone number and choose cover page. After completing the information and I click "send" I get the message:"fax error: the message could not be sent. the media is write protected". I have checked the files and they do not show write protection.I have 2 identical Toshiba Satellite L455's- the only difference is that this one is 64bit and the other is 32bit.On the 32bit machine, using Word 2003, I am able to send the fax created on the 64bit machine without getting the error message.How do I correct the incorrect write protection message?

Oct 28, 2009I have a seagate 1 terabyte external hard drive and I made an image of my old hard drive which contained windows XP Professional.I've since migrated to Windows 7 and am now trying to access the data in the my documents folder in the "imaged" drive which is embedded in in the external hard drive. I am trying to access the data in the administrators folder, but cannot: ACCESS DENIED.I tried to change ownership within windows 7.... Cannot: MEDIA IS WRITE PROTECTED.How can I access these files? I can access all the other files that are on the "image" which is on the external hard drive.

Jul 11, 2010I used alchol 120% to burn a dvd rw and then after some time wanted to burn something else on it. but while formatting there is an error message saying " disk is write protected".With windows 7 ultimate i was able to rightclick and format the disk again i burn the same disk with my laptop having windows 7 home premium. IT IS AGAIN GIVING THE SAME ERROR.i have tried other softwares to erase or format that disk but it failed.
