I just bought a new laptop 2 weeks ago. It is a Asus R500V with windows 7 64bit, i7 3610QM, and nvidia gt630m. Since i got it i have gotten random bsod's. Mostly when i am downloading music, surfing internet, or when it just sits.

I get the BSOD totally randomly. It doesn't matter if I play games or just surf in the internet.

- What is the age of OS installation (have you re-installed the OS?) OS was installed in August. I have re-installed my old XP many times when I still had it.
the PC I built seems to BSOD about once a week. Usually it was on Mondays at any given time. Now it happened again Tuesday. The bsod flashes to quick for me to catch anything but "inpage". I also ran chkdsk and sfc. I want to assume it is the hard drive even though chkdsk showed no problems. I do have two minidumps to provide, but I can't seem to find any attachment icon to upload them.

Lastly, I think I should not be using a Green HDD with the OS but there is a story to that. I will use a 7200RPM HDD if that is indeed the problem.
A couple of months ago, I bought a new graphics card: a Nvidia 560GTX (Gigabyte GV-NV56GOC) and a new PSU (Corsair CX500 V2 Builder Series, 500 W) to run it and after 3 weeks the PC began to fail with the 116 error.At the begining it crashed only at Windows 7 blue starting screen (after the loading screen with win logo and a progress bar). It happened once every 4 or 5 days.After a month it was almost imposible to run unless starting in "FailSafe Mode" and began to crash in the desktop in idle. I tested it with another drivers, clean installs, changing cabes, etc... and nothing worked, only with another graphics card (an old nvidia 220GT wich came with the PC) and worked properly so I decided so send the card in RMA.
A couple of days ago the seller sent me an email saying that they couldn't find any issue with the 560GTX and they sent the card to Gigabyte to further testing (I wil have to wait 20-30 days to have more info). Yesterday my PC with the old card (the 220GT) began to fail while playing Skyrim with a grey screen and a strange buzz in the speakers. After 2 seconds it restarts saying that there was an system error bccode 116. Today it has crashed 4 times in 5 hours while playing (same as yesterday), "youtubbing" or (I think, but not sure than) in idle with a white screen and a strange buzz in the speakers, but not starting like with the 560GTX.
I had to change my HDD a month ago too so I tested in 2 diferent HDDs, drivers are OK and I guess that the PSU is enough for the new card and more than enough with the old one. I also ran sfc.exe /scannow witho no problems.I'm running Windows Home Premium x64 (Service Pack 1) OEM, reinstalled one or 2 months ago. I will attach minidump files with errors of both cards.
I just bought a new computer 1 week ago, and i got 3 BSOD till now.It usually happens when i am not at the pc, once happened when i was surfing the web. It never happens when i play games. Might be some wake thing? My power setting are max performance Rarely i get a windows has recovered from nvidia driver failure or something like that.

It loaded w/ a i5 2500k processor, Asus P8V68-Pro mb, 4x8gb G.Skill DDR3 1600 ram, and 2 120G Sandisk Extreme SSDs in Raid 0. I did the re-install of a Windows 7 upgrade disc I purchased.1 stick of the g.skill ram was an RMA so I'm thinking it might be that. I didn't run memtest86+ when I got the new stick so that's a possibility.BSOD occurred when my gf was surfing on Firefox. It was very random, 1st BSOD since the new install. Since I didn't see it in person I didn't catch the error code.
View 4 Replies View Relatedi've gotten the BSOD before, but it was worse than this case. my laptop suddenly shut down one day and would just show me the bsod any time it was turned on, and then it would shut off again. after lots of failed attempts to get my laptop back on, i restored it. luckily i had a back up of all my files so it was no biggie.now it has started doing it again, but this time it is turning back on after it 'crashes'. i'll be on the internet and then the screen will go black, then it will flash me the BSOD or something about crash dump, and then shut off.

View 9 Replies View Relatedi am having a weird wireless adapter problem. first of all the model of wireless adapter is tp- link ( tl-wn722n 150mbps ) and i am connected to tp-link router ( tl-wr740n ). so for the problem it's whenever i am surfing internet the wireless adapter just turns off.. it's either it's stuck on green light or no light ( it flashes green every 2 seconds when its normal ) sometime i can stay on the internet for 1 minute to 5 hours, but it's mostly few minutes. i noticed when i am reading news on internet or something like that it doesn't disconnect, but when i turn on Internet and watch a vid it suddenly drops signal. i have to unplug and plug it in again to get the connection back.
i have tried alot of things..i have changed ports,reinstalled all drivers in router, updated drivers, restetted settings to factory defaults, changing security, channels..nothing worked. the signal is pretty good i can still download with at least 1mbps of speed + the signal bar is full or 1 lower. another weird thing when i am downloading a file it doesn't dissconect i think it's just fine when i'm away from the computer.. but when i start googling,chatting on steam watching videos it just looks like it lost signal or something. also this is not the wireless adapter, because i had one before it started having same problem.. i bought this one at start it had same problem but it was 1 day, but after 2 weeks it started happening.. it's not overheating, i can be connected to internet in safe mode without a problem. also i am using a pc not laptop there are no viruses or malwares on my computer i have used avg and norton antiviruses for scanning, i also got 2 other computers one is loptop and other is pc none of them got such a problem.
im running windows 7 home premium,with 2gb of ram,2.2ghz,on a presario CQ62 notebook. i have high speed cable internet through roadrunner.i have no viruses,nothing at all running accept for the services that normallly run on this computer.cpu usage is at zero,and everything runs fine,that is untill i start surfing the internet. im only getting 6mbps or even lower at times,when i should be getting 10mbps or more.i have run multiple different speed tests through road runner,and they basically all conclude that my download speed is 6mbps or lower,sometimes reaching as low as 3mbps.alot of times it will start out at 20mbps and then dramatically drop to almost nill.my upload however seems normal and never changes at 49.i have another computer thats a dell with 4gbs of ram and a faster processor and im getting 20mbps+++ fast! does having a faster processesor and more ram make a difference while surfing the net? i have an emachine with only 1gb of ram and windows xp,and its faster then this new presario at surfing the net using this same line.its really noticeable just flippin through pages or doing searches

I built my new pc in november and have been having constant BSOD, I have reinstalled plenty of times, memtest86 all passed, all drivers are updated, still having problems. I reinstalled 5 days ago with the march updates and still getting them. They happen when I am working in photoshop, playing games, surfing the net, even just idling.

PreinstalledThere seemed to be some indication of ATI involvement in the crashes, so I have tried updating the ATI drivers, but the problem continues - perhaps once a week the system will freeze, mouse pointer can still be moved but nothing can be clicked onEventually it restarts with the DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD.

Recently I have encountered BSOD quite regularly, whenever I'm playing pc games ( I get BSOD regardless of what I'm playing), burning an DVD ( I'm probably the only one left that still use dvd driver and buy blank dvd) or just surfing the web for more than 2 hours. Whne BSOD happens, the error is Kernel data inpage error. I had look it up and it have to do with the HDD, but I'm the only one receiving that error while trying to burn a dvd.

As far as I can remember the first time I had a BSOD was on the day I installed Max Payne 3 (I read somewhere that the some guy had also this problem when he installed max payne). There were two occasions that I got a BSOD upon starting Max Payne 3. But lately I'm getting BSOD when doing low-load stuffs like browsing with no other apps opened. I've already done memtest with 10 passes with no errors. I'm 24 hours prime95 stable. I just don't get it! I've manually set my timings for my ram. I'm not doing any overclock. Everything is on stock settings.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently switched to Digital Audio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio Device) using one Toslink cable instead of all the analog wires going from my PC to my receiver.The digital sound is amazing, CD quality from my PC is great.However, I now also receive the digitized sound of pages being loaded as I surf the web. All sound comes out digitized when loading a new page.Is there a way to stop this from happening while listening to music or course material without gong back to analog?Can I have my digital CD quality and enjoy it too!
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis has been with me for a long time (can't remember how long) must have been about 2 years now. Just decided to try to solve it. When I'm using the computer, everything is fine. My video card is pretty old. When playing some games, sometimes the game crashes (and I get a notification about how my graphics sucks), but no BSOD. I haven't really exhaustively tested, but I think I've used it for 10 hours straight without any problems. The problem comes when I leave it alone (10-30 minutes.. I haven't seen it alive beyond 30 minutes of idle), even if its downloading something or running an antivirus scan. I have been able to run a full scan at startup (before windows loads), which took about an hour, with no problems. I used windows update to install all the latest updates (from windows). I have hibernate disabled and no screensavers, no standby after x minutes/hours. I do sometimes put it to sleep from time to time and there are usually no problems.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell XPS with most stock hardware (added 1 HDD and removed 1 optical drive). I am running Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with and i7 and 12gb of ram. The Windows install is not factory, but it is from a disc I got from dell when I called and complained long enough (and to several different people) that I did want all of the standard junk that is on the factory restore.Most nights my computer apparently BSODs while I am asleep and yesterday was the first time I saw it happen. I am unfamiliar with reading the crash reports after the fact, but I was able to see on the 1 BSOD I saw that it mentioned my ATI Radeon HD5800 graphics card (atisys___ or something of the sort). I then removed the ATI drivers and software complete with Driver Cleaner and reinstalled the newest version. I do no do and have not done overclocking.

I have HP G61 that was working fine until around Christmas. Then I got BSOD on wake-up after idle. I did start-up repair, it ran fine. I thought it was fixed. It worked all day. I shut it off and restarted it many times, closed it down for the day. The next morning, same story. It acts like it is going to come up, starts the swirl of colored dots, then BSOD. I did chkdsk/r, clean. I updated everything I could through Windows. I was running Norton, but now I don't have anything. I have to keep reinstalling it every time I do a clean reinstall. The last reinstall was on the 21st. It is running 64-bit Win 7, oem. I believe I have attached the requested reports, but I don't know how to read them!

So far, I've tried:
-Checking for driver updates
-Running a disc check on both of my hard drives
-Running a system scan
And I'm just about to run Memtest on my ram sticks.
My specs are:

keep getting the bsod when idle or surfing the net. comes up with atikmpag.sys. i can play a game like lol for an hour and it doesnt do it but sitting here typing this it happens to me. its only when running eyefinity with 3 monitors, doesn't do it with 2. i have 2 dvi to vga adapters and a display to vga adapter (the one off the amd website). it doesnt matter if i am overclocked or not, temps don't seam to make a difference. when i am running 2 in eyefinity it has the amd screen flicker when ocd. have tried reinstalling windows and ati drivrs from 11.0 to 12.3 amd no change
View 5 Replies View RelatedI continue to experience BSODs on my new computer. Every component is new and experienced the same BSODs on my old computer as well.
I turned off hibernation thinking it was the problem, but leaving it idle also causes the same issue. Furthermore, if I leave it on hibernation, the monitor won't turn on after I wake up the computer or there is a BSOD error and reboots.
Attached is what I was told in the instructions to provide. I provided a dxdiag file to give you my system specs as well. Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
Windows 7, 64 bit. It's the original OS. I'm not sure what the difference between OEM and full retail is but I got this the way it was in the shop. I haven't added anything. The age is roughly a year old and I haven't reinstalled the OS.I got the BSOD twice a month or two apart about 2-3 months ago. However, it happened once yesterday, and twice today. The second time I got the error 0x8000ffff but I was able to do a system restore. I usually keep my laptop on for days... I used to do that with my previous laptop and I never had any problems so I don't know if that's what's causing the BSOD.

It is brand new, and I payed a lot of money for it so I'm rather frustrated that I'm having so many issues in my first month owning it. The Bluescreens seem to happen completely randomly and since it is a new computer and I've installed drivers for quite a few pieces of hardware I dont know where to start. A lot of the minidumps havnt been saved from the looks of things too but I have provided the 3 that were.I've been using the computer for gaming, internet browsing and a little bit of video editing/recording. I have returned to the computer twice so far to see it had bluescreened while idle (with internet browser and chat programs running). I have had a few days where there was no bluescreen but they seem to happen generally once a day. The one tonight I was playing battlefield 3, then the game crashed (after checking event logs around the time my game crashed there is a Warning report saying "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered.") then a few minutes later the computer bluescreens and restarts.
I think I've been having these BSOD's since I recieved the computer and I have contacted Arbico twice about it. The first time was a brief email saying I'm having BSODs and dont know what to do, then the second I phoned up and the bloke on the phone said it sounded like an issue with my SSD and that I'm not the only one thats been having the issue. He then told me it was a driver issue and sent me IA STOR SSD ISSUE REG UPDATE to try (I have added it to an attachment in this post). I ran that and continued to get BSODs. After that I went to the SSD's website and installed the latest firmware. For a day or two it seemed to help, but then I bluescreened again.[CODE]
New PC, and I'm getting BSOD randomly when the computer is idleing followed by a restart, before 11th of Dec there used to be 5 or 6 restarts a day, but after that time I updated windows 7 and now I'm getting 1 or 2 a day. I ran memtest for a 7 pass test and showed no errors.
