the video playback in browser, every browser, using flash plugin [e.g. Internet, dailymotion, etc.] plays smoothly but freezes for a second or two every once in a while. this happens during full screen playback as well as windowed one.i also have a problem getting smooth playback using windowed mode of subedit player [i translate stuff so need this player feature, can't replace it for media player classic], even though full screen playback is just fine. same clips playback perfectly in mpc, vlc and other players. i guess the problem is somehow connected with the player, although my colleagues didn't experience this problem, neither did they experience choppy flash playback.i'm using 190.38_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql as drivers.

I recently bought a new computer and I have been experiencing some video issues while playing videos and playing games, on videos the file plays normally until it becomes jittery with green and pink lines sometimes resulting to a crash or BSOD, after the crash theres a note on the right side of the screen that says "Display driver has stopped working and recovered etc etc, I'm not sure... This also happens on You Tube and other video sites. On games it's pretty much the same but it goes BSOD and restarts.well it does not go BSOD all the time but it does happen almost every time I play videos and play video games.

I think the problem is related to my graphics drivers. I persistently have issues with atikmpag.sys and atikmdag.sys. It has happened from the start and I finally am fed up with it.It can happen during web browsing. Playing video in media center will do it. My wife tried watching a video on imdb.com and it crashed[CODE]I've tried reseating graphics and memory. I uninstalled the graphics driver and entire catalyst suite and just reinstalled the driver as I've heard that can be a probl know enough about computers to feel too comfortable and do damage, but I haven't tried anything crazy yet.I don't know enough to be useful fixing them evidently.'m at my wits end and ready to either take it in to MicroCenter to have them try and fix it or just buy a new NON-ATI graphics card to see if that fixes it.

while I was on wireless, which I think the problem might originate from, I had 3 BSODs within a span of 30 minutes. Two of the BSODs were linked to opening Netflix on Firefox and the other was caused by opening a Flash app on Chrome. If I recall correctly, the last BSOD error was something akin to Driver not less or equal? Regarding the dump files, when I went to double check that a dump file was created upon BSOD, I noticed that the option to have it overwrite was checked, so I'm not sure if the previous two BSOD dump files were recorded. Some of my previous older BSODs (which the issue was solved) were included in the folder, I believe, since the program just captured everything in the minidump folder.

I've had a shuttle sk22g2 v2 system that I leave on and sometimes find turned off and occasionally see a BSOD when using. The BSOD happens randomly, flashes on the screen for about 1 sec, and then turns off the PC. I've had this issue since doing a fresh install of Windows 7 ultimate 64 from window XP 64.I don't know if it is related, but I also had an issue where my on board NIC would stop working. I tried fixes from installing different driver versions, restarting services, and restarting the NIC. The only thing that would recover would its functionality be restarting windows. I added a NIC card and that has allowed me to keep network access.

I have a relatively new computer, but I recently started having a BSOD problem. When I attempt to start windows normally I can get as far as the home screen, but then the BSOD flashes (too quickly to read) and I'm sent to the boot options menu.
Computers are not exactly a strength of mine, but I can follow instructions and would love to have some help getting my computer back to normal!

Over the last month I have been having problems with my computer. About 2 weeks after I installed a new piece of hardware (an ATI TV Wonder 650 pcie to be precise) my keyboard started acting funny. Sometimes it would randomly turn off. Other times it would randomly type slashes. After about 2 days of that I started getting blue screens when using flash player. Things gradually got worse until I couldn't even access a file without a blue screen. Throughout that time I attempted to figure out the problem, but couldn't.
Today I finally reinstalled Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. Things were going rather well, except that windows was having trouble recognizing the tv tuner card, but everything was running well regardless. I left the house with my computer running for about an hour and when I returned my computer had blue-screened and restarted itself. I took out the tuner card hoping it was the problem, but a while later the computer again blue screened while doing a restart.

its even happened once last night on a game FIFA 12 which restarted and had this error

okay so I'm new to Windows 7 and this PC
- Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit
- Intel i7 Core, Gigabyte motherboard, 4GB of DDR3 Ram
- graphics card ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series, using DVI connection with my Samsung SyncMaster 2233SW monitor
I have downloaded and installed DviX codecs, K-Lite Codec pack and updated the latest drivers straight from ATI's website for my graphics card and system.
The problem I am having is when inserting a DVD (store bought, Region 1). I have already right clicked on my DVD Drive (D: )and changed it's Region play back to Region 1 (this was my first hurdle).
Using Windows Media Player that came with Windows 7 (11 or 12?) I attempt to play this DVD, and it says playing, but I cannot access any DVD menus, title screens or whatever. No sound or anything is happening, only a black screen. Seems to recognize it as Play-list 1 (D: ), but I can't get it to play, right click on the drive in Windows Media Player, play is grayed out. Tried using Windows Media Player Classic and DviX player as well, and I cannot get a DVD to play.
In Windows Explorer, it shows TS Video Files and TS Audio Files, as if I was burning it or something. (I don't know if this is how Windows 7 shows all DVD's)
Tried the one HD video that comes with Windows Media Player, some 30 seconds of nature, and it plays fine, so I can play video.
Oh and I popped in a music CD and it plays fine as well.

since I changed from Win XP to Win 7 I encounter freezing during playback of DVD's. I tested several DVD's and the problem occurs with both WMP and PowerDVD 6 as well as PowerDVD 9. The only difference between PowerDVD 6 and WMP is that the former freezes every 5 minutes for approximately 5 seconds whereas WMP freezes every 2 to 3 minutes for 10 minutes. So, the latter is useless at all.
My graphics card driver is up to date. I deactivated hardware acceleration in PowerDVD. I would be grateful for further suggestions as I would like to keep Win 7.

My only way of watching my blu-rays is on my computer. I've been using PowerDVD 11 Ultra for a while without significant problems. I recently noticed, however, that it was stopping playback during movies, simply pausing and then crashing. I decided to reinstall in the hope of getting smooth playback. After doing so, I had a new problem: all blu-ray video was now very light, forcing all darks to be gray, instead. I should note that I have a Radeon 5770 card and Catalyst's video settings are disabled to allow the player to function without interference (Catalyst 12.6). Despite that, however, PDVD still just gives me gray blacks. I tried downloading TotalMedia Theater and WinDVD trial versions to find a program that works right. To my shock and horror, I have the exact same problem with them, too. What is wrong with the blu-ray playback that has caused programs to play incorrectly? I am convinced that the problem is not related to my computer. One moment, everything was fine. The next moment, everything was bugged. Please note that all other video looks perfect, whether it be DVD, video files, or online videos with my Catalyst settings applied to them.Does anyone have any ideas as to what is going on? Does Blu-Ray software actually work right on computers? I noticed that the Cyberlink forums have plenty of people talking about this same issue happening with PDVD12. Considering that I had the exact problem with the other two programs, I think this goes beyond software developers.

The thing is that I didn't have this problem previously,, all my video players were able to play all the same video files, which they can't now! In Media Center when playing a DVD about every 5 minutes the video will hang for a second and then go into slow motion and then catch up with the audio.
Its terribly annoying. If you know the answer, please share.
I have a HP 7680n (core 2 duo/2GB ram) with a kworld ATSC tuner and a 256MB Asus (ATI) video card using HDMI out.

OS: Windows 7 RC, 64-bit
Video Card: Intel X3100
Watching live sports in Media Center (via HDHR) is a nightmare. The audio is perfect, but the video will be slow motion for a few seconds then really fast to catch up, then slow again, etc.
I have tried the pre-release WDDM 1.1 drivers as well as the most recent Vista drivers from Intel. Both exhibit the same issue. The Vista drivers were slightly better but still difficult to watch.
I did not have this problem in Vista and regular TV shows are fine. Any advice?

I've been having a bit of an issue running HD content. Recently, I've been running many 1080p .mkv video files in Windows Media Player 11 with the help of the K-Lite codec pack. Last night though, one particular video was playing normally up until a certain point, when suddenly the video froze for a couple of seconds, followed by it speeding up to catch up with itself. All the while, the audio track continued as normal. Any reason why this may have happened? It's been stumping me all night. Is there perhaps, another, more superior media player I should be using? (Media Player Classic and VLC both gave me inferior performance, by the way)

I just bought a new Lenovo Y470. I've had it about two weeks and just recently I started noticing something odd. Everything else on the computer works perfect except for one thing. When I'm playing music from my hard drive, if there is more than one song listed in the playlist (specifically when I'm playing only one album), the media player will play a seemingly random amount of the song and then skip to another song.A couple points about this problem:-This happens in BOTH iTunes and Windows Media Player.-Sometimes it plays 20 or 30 seconds at the beginning of the song and then skips, sometimes it plays all the way through the song till about the last minute and then it skips.-In WMP it skips to the very next song.I have searched around and seen a few people on forums with this problem, and there seems to be no answers. Some even said the problem was also transferred to their iPod.

I have had problems with continued freezing and crashing during Avi., xvid, divx, and now problems with playback of recorded media. It occurs in Media Center, VLC, WMP, DIVX. I had this same problem with vista home 32 bit and couldn't elicit support since Windows 7 32 bit was coming out soon.
Solutions I have tried:
Reinstalling OS fresh
Latest Drivers from Nvidia 4.0.100.1190 Last upgrade
Upgrade Video card from Nvidia 8800 Onboard Video to 9400 GT card
I have turning off indexing on HD
Turning off certain services and since have reinstalled
Installed very little other than media, (Pics, music)
Please help, I shelled out over a hundred for Vista and I don't want to make the same mistake if Windows 7 is going to have the same problems.

Some of my .mpg videos periodically stutter during playback on 64-bit Windows 7 if played through WMP 12.0.7600.16415. If played back through VLC 1.0.3 the problem doesn't happen. Problem happens whether in full-screen or windowed mode. The stutter points are consistent and reproducible -- happens at the same place in the video each time. Doesn't happen with all mpg videos, only some. There's nothing else running on the machine. Perfmon shows almost no CPU activity on all cores, and no significant disk or network I/O.Video: EVGA GTX-275, latest nVidia 8.17.11.9562 drivers. CPU: i7-860 @ 3.78Ghz. Disk: WD Velociraptor 300GB SATA. The same mpg videos play fine on a lesser-powered XP machine (2.4Ghz Core 2 Quad Q6600) through WMP 11.0.5721.5268.

I have a RadioShark (Griffin Technology) that records and allows replay of AM and FM radio programs. I've successfully installed it on my new Dell Inspirion with Windows 7 and it shows up and even lets me set up programs, but I can't hear any playback. The Griffin website says to change my Audio so that the RadioShark is the default but I can't figure out how to do that. I've looked at all possible options on the control panel but nothing seems to work.
