I just installed Windows 7 Professional yesterday and after enabling Arabic as a second language it only lets me type the characters "عربية" and not the letters "1234" I got it setup so it does allow typing of the numbers in Arabic in office as well, but if i copy it into another program such as firefox or IE, they turn back into English numbers.
I have a new dell inspiron 580 with Win 7 Home. Everything was great until about a week ago. When playing games, all my keyboard inputs come out as numbers, and they are not the same numbers, they cycle 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0,1... (I press 'a' and 1 comes up, press it again or any other key and 2 comes up, again, 3 and so on) This makes it impossible to do online crosswords or move in any game that uses the wasd keys. The keys all work fine in office, explorer, or any place that just wants text. This is a desktop not a laptop so the numlock isn't the problem. i have swapped keyboards, updated drivers, turned off accessibility features, checked keyboard language setting, and nothing.
The only thing that I changed on the computer around when this problem started was changing anti-virus software, the 30 day McAffe trial was over so I uninstalled it and installed Norton Security Suite, which may be the problem, but i can't go back now.Has anyone heard of a problem like this with Norton, Win 7, or anywhere?I suspect Nortons anti-key-logger is messing thing up, but i haven't found any to turn if off or settings to change.
When in word documents or typing in browsers, my laptop keyboard is perfectly fine, but when I'm in a game or certain other programs (like typing in Pandora, the internet radio) my keyboard (all the numbers, letters, and punctuation keys), when hit, will display numbers. No matter what key is pressed the first press gives me a "1," the next a "2," and so forth until "0" which is when it goes back to "1." I can't play anything and have to copy paste into Pandora's typing field.
Oddly, when I hit CTRL-V to paste it still registers. CTRL-random number would not paste, so something is (I think) changing my letters into numbers after the letter registers. I tried to do all the Num-lock and scroll-lock stuff but it didn't work. AVG Free's scheduled scan turned up nothing. I'm currently scanning with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Spybot S&D. Unhackme says there is no Trojan on my computer. I temporarily fixed the problem previously with a system restore, but it did not last.
I am trying to get the Arabic Phonetic keyboard, but I was not able to find it. Is it pre-installed in Windows 7, or do I need to install it? If so, does anyone know of any links for installation?
XP and vista had keyboard layouts for arabic + digits, so you could use the hindi digits.
It seems in Windows 7, you can only choose arabic 101 without digits, no matter which country you choose, so there's no way for me to type the hindi digits like

how to change USB port numbers both in Windows 7 Starter and in Windows 7 Home Premium.Windows XP makes this operation easy, but I have found no comparable method in Windows 7 Starter. Is the problem that I am using Starter? Can it be done in Home Premium?
Win 7 Pro x64. I've used a little app that you might know called 'IP Messenger for Win' (Open Source LAN Messenger / Chat application). It works well but with the latest version I'm getting a strange sequence of numbers appended to my Username (as per screenshot). It's not easy to get support on the product so thought I'd try here to see if someone recognises the issue and, no, it seems to have nothing to do with the 'machine name / description' - I've changed those (and back) to test. My Windows username is 'Jem' (which I've also tried changing). The rest is self explanatory - the other two users in the shot are Vista and XP.
I have a dell inspiron labtop with win 7. and i can use the number keys on keyboard whenever I use word or notepad or calculator, but once I access internet explorer I cannot use number keys. To insert any number on search bars or sign in logs I have to copy and paste from word.....
In Windows CP Display Settings (and in Nvidia CP) my left/main display is 1 and right is 2. In Windows CP Color Management the left is 2 and the right is 1. I would ignore this except that at least a couple applications now open on opposite displays. One is a monitor color calibration program (which also identifies them reversed) and the other a Raw Image Converter. And I don't trust that the calibration program loads the profiles separately. This happened after I reinstalled Nvidia video drivers trying to fix random bsod from firefox and IE8 - which seems to have worked.
I have numbers in front of some my music files. Not tracknumbers. The numbers are included in the file name. (03 Sunflower or 01 - Beyond The Sea) etc. My question is, is there anyway to remove the numbers. I can do by renaming each file. Is there any to do this other than renaming one file at a time.
I have had several folders with random numbers and letters on my computer for quite some time now. They're located in the C:(Username)App DataLocal folder. There's a few folders that have {FFF9808001018839} or something similar to that. When I click on them, they don't have anything in it. Some have another folder or two, but there's nothing in them either. I don't why they're on here or I should delete them or not.I'd like to know what kind of folders are safe to have and what are not. I'm worried I may delete something that's important to my system. Before I delete anything, I do research online and I don't delete it unless I'm 100% sure that I have to. Some of things on here, may be from downloading music, programs, and videos. But none of them are on my computer any longer and I'm afraid there could be some things that shouldn't be on here.
(My computer is always running fine and there not affecting anything. It's just annoying to see all of them there and I would like to have my computer as clean as I could have it).The other question or issue I have is that my computer seems to have the stock name on it. Three numbers and two letters. For instance my documents and files that I create are saved under C:454HXDocumentsEnglish EssayThat's not what it is of course, but it's similar. It's really annoying to have because it makes me feel like it's not personal. Yes, I know to go the Control Panel and Username and Account Settings. I have changed it a few times already, but the "454HX" still shows up. I don't know where to go for this.
I have an annoyingproblem in my Excel 2003. I will enter numbers like $53.34, $2.70 etc thenafter I go to the next cell the numbers will automatically go the next highestdollar $53.34 to $54.00 and $2.70 to $3.00 etc.And then when I addtotals in a column the total will also go to the next highest dollar.
my keyboard is adding numbers after things. eg b54 is "b" and n67 is "n" a lot of the number keys are screwed also eg this is one to zero `12B54B54N67N6789=-0
How can I arrange jpgs within a folder without renaming them FIRST? XP allowed drag and drop to allow MY OWN organization. Windows 7 seems to have replaced that with only auto-arrange options. Am I missing something or is there still some way to organize a slideshow or content-based order?
Basically I am looking for any way that will enable me to paste a predetermined string of text or numbers e.g. if i pressed F1 then that will automatically paste "hello" and F2 would paste "My Name is" etc
It does even have to be a hotkey, it could possibly be a rightclick option? (if that makes any sense)
I am trying to add telephone numbers in contacts and for some reason every time I start a number with +123 it would automatically erase + and leave only the 123 and this form is not valid when trying to make a phone call.
I do a lot of internet troubleshooting and would like to put a simple batch file in customers computers that will let me see their DNS numbers when they are using a router.I currently do this from a command prompt for Comas.
I have HP laptop with windows 7 ultimate. Sometimes my keyboard is messed up (i.e. typing letters shows numbers) and after restart or log off and log in again, the keyboard goes back to normal. The problem has repeated several times and I don't know the reason
When I click on the Calculator shortcut, it pops right up on my desktop, but unless I click on the actual calculator, it doesn't accept any of my keystrokes to enter numbers. Is there a way around this?
