I am running Windows 7, I actually searched through ALL the windows 7 sounds on my LAPTOP to identify the sound, and NADA! So what other type of file extension could play a sound? Perhaps I can search for it, then eradicate it. It would have to have a file extension of some sort, right?
Everytime I open IE 8 I get this sound that is so annoying and I have had a hard time explaining the sound so I recorded it.I am not sure if it is IE 8 or the sites I go to but I open by default to Google. If I go to Apple's website the sound repeats over and over again but on most it only happens when I open my browser.
For some reason, I am getting an annoying ALERT sound every few seconds without any popups or anything to explain why. What is it?I tried to look up a Fault Log to see what program might be triggering the sound but I can't find a Fault Log in Windows 7.I am using the full retail release of Windows 7 Ultimate. Purchased with cold hard cash
This is a annoying loud continuous beeping sound. This happens after the boot diagnostics, at the point where windows should boot up. There is a cursor in the upper right corner, and that is all it does. This is a HP Pavilion Elite m9040n PC. It came with Windows Vista, and I am upgrading to Windows 7. I stupidly didn't run upgrade advisor, and am now regretting it.When I go to HP to find drivers, no Windows 7 drivers show up for this PC. Stupidly, again, I assumed this meant that they were packaged in with Windows 7.I don't think this is a hardware issue. It happens repeatedly at boot up, but when I put the installation CD in, the PC boots off the CD just fine. This probably doesn't eliminate any hard drive issues, but the PC wasn't showing any signs before, and the installation goes through without a hitch. Is this caused by not having compatible drivers? Are there computers that can't be upgraded? I do meet the minimum requirements. 2.4 Ghz, 3 GB Ram. What may I be missing?
I had audio lagg in battlefield 3 so some guy told me to update my realtek HD audio driver and it will be fine So i did and after installation my speakers started making this weird anoying sound i can't stop it and in my realtek HD audio menager started saying that i've plugged in audio device and after that it says that i have unplugged my audio device but the point is i didn't plugged in anything and goes again and again.
Basically my problem is at random times, my headset will just stop working and it will switch back to my laptop, as if my headphones are not even plugged in. It happens multiple times a day, seemingly at random (lately its been this way, but I have had it go longer than a day without doing this to me). As I am browsing the internet, as I am turning on a game, when I am away and the computer is just sitting there.
I've tried checking my device manager for differences when it is working and when it is not, I've tried updating all software, I've tried setting default devices. None of it has helped.
The only thing that fixes this is logging off, or restarting the computer. This then returns it to normal. My laptop is an HP Pavilion dv6 windows 7 home premium x64. Headphones in question are Razor Carcharias.
I had to format and reinstall the win 7 32 bit to my lenovo y410 laptop. sound is not working. sound driver is realtek high definition. but now orking tried in many ways, but failed. How can I find the correct driver.
I'm looking for suggestions on how I could improve the audio quality, mainly for music, that I can get out of my laptop (T61p). It's not that bad now, but I'm sure it could be better, especially since I already have some very nice earphones.
I know I could get an external sound card with a pcmica interface, but the problem is that is a dying interface that will most likely not be supported in the next laptop I get, and I'm hoping I could find something that could be transferred to the next laptop I will probably get in the next year or so.
My current laptop also has an express card slot. I'm not sure about the future of that interface either.
i have a lenovo y410... i installed windows xp just yesterday and installled the sound driver but it dint work.... then i downloaded the driver from the lenovo website but still the driver doesnt install....
when i try uninstalling the sound driver from the device manager an error comes saying "uninstall cannot continue.. the file may be required to boot the system"... what should i doo... everything else is working well except the sound...
My Lenovo X61S [7668-CTO] laptop has been freezing up all month. To my knowledge, I have installed all Lenovo and Windows updates--including Windows 7 SP-1 today. Error messages below. They are all BCCode 124, whatever that means. TSG SysInfo follows. What to do?Tech Support Guy System Info Utility version 1.0.0.1.OS Version: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional , Service Pack 1, v.721, 32 bit Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU L7700 @ 1.80GHz, x64 Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11
Lenovo laptop with Windows 7 OS. The laptop shut down while plugged in overnight. I have removed the battery and let it sit for hours to cool/reset. Upon power up, the hard drive light comes on for 2-3 seconds, then goes off. Sometimes the screen flickers white for another 2-3 seconds, but the OS never boots up. I have removed the hard drive and plugged it into another computer via a SATA cable. I was able to read data. The drive appears to be working. I ran Malware Bytes and it cleared off some suspect files (PUP.FunWebProducts and PUP.MyWebSearch). I have a log file to post if helpful. When I put the hard drive back into the laptop, I get the same result as before. I made a recovery disc on another Win 7 computer and attempted to boot the Lenovo from the disc, but still I get the same result. I have tried pressing F8 at start up, but still no joy. Is this a BIOS issue, failed HD controller, or something else?

I am running Windows 7 on a Lenovo T60 laptop. When I try to download files or programs, I constantly get a message stating that there is insufficient storage. I have run disk cleanup and defragged multiple times and deleted everything that I am comfortable deleting with no improvement.
I have recently bought a brand new Lenovo ThinkPad Edge laptop with no OS and I am having a big problem installing Windows 7. When I start the laptop the windows boots and starts loading files but when the "Starting Windows" appears everything stops... I have waited for hours but no progress. I have tried it many times even from a USB flash drive but nothing.
